I watched Monday's episode and felt it was an improvement. The music is bad and often out of place, but it seemed less cluttered and more focused than Friday's episode. The camerwork was better and I find myself becoming used to some of the sets. Now if they'd just dump that awful music (including the theme song) and get a talented writer I *might* continue watching. It helps that I stopped watching ATWT so I have the free hour.

I hope that when ATWT makes the switch that they find a city more compatible with Oakdale than this town is with GL. I don't believe the Spaulding's truly live in this condemned town. Then again, with all the evilness going on, maybe the condemned look is them being truthful. They could've done a nice Dark Shadows remake here.

I do wonder how the actual town is.

I missed todays eppy, but does anyone know who directed it? Fridays eppy was directed by Ellen Wheeler, so I'm wondering of course who directed today since you said that it was an improvement compared to Fridays.

What is the obsession with shooting scenes looking through twigs, grass, wrought iron, etc.? Some of the outdoor stuff really looks nice. The inside stuff, however, looks worse than ever. Now it sounds worse as well.

And to be honest, some of those cameramen need directors in their ears telling them what shots to get. Getting extreme closeups doesn't make the scene more dramatic.

Neither do those (most of those, anyway) who offer criticisms of this-or-that show.

I'll bet you never promised us a rose garden, either.

So, those of us who are (so-called) haters should just remain quiet? Because TPTB are happy? Last time I checked, these shows were supposed to be for us, not them. Frankly, I don't care if Babs Bloom or anyone else at CBS (or PGP, for that matter) is satisfied w/ GL or ATWT right now. Viewers, by and large, are not happy - and IMO, that is what counts.

AFAIC, they're doing what they are supposed to do. They're unhappy, and they are making their opinions known (hopefully, with taste and decorum intact). Really, what more could they do? I mean, this ain't like the final moments of "Frankenstein." We can't just storm the GL "studios" in NY, armed with torches and pitchforks, and demanding the heads of EW and DK ... can we?

Except, I'm sure even those productions look professional by comparison.

The least PGP could've done was run a series of "test shows" to see how GL could've been adapted to the new format before subjecting the masses to it. These kinds of mistakes (in audio, camera direction, and so forth) should never be allowed to air.

Oh my dear Lord in Heaven...

I can now without uncertainty give my blessing to CBS to go ahead and cancel this show.

This is an embarrassment to the veteran cast. I feel sorry for talented semi-veterans like Gina Tognoni who have to pretend this "new production model" is the best thing since sliced bread but in their minds are wishing they had booked that GH job 4 years ago instead. My poor Kim Zimmer, the star of the show, who must be lowering her head in shame. The darling Beth Ehlers, who is only doing this for a paycheck at this point. She used to stick up for the integrity of Harley when the writers butchered the role, but now there's no point.

I can now without uncertainty go ahead with plans to produce an amatuer soap opera and upload it to YouTube. The quality will be the same! Maybe even better! Audio from the camera's microphone. Lighting from any ol' lamp in the room. Hell, I even own a TRIPOD! No sea-sickness when you watch mine!

It just doesn't have the same feel at all. And the characters... oh, the characters. They're just names. Their history just continues to disappear. Exactly which romantic couples are we supposed to care about or root for?

And I agree with someone else who said it's hard to follow. I guess my slow 25-year-old mind just can't keep up with this fast MTV pace that GL is trying so desperately to mimic.

Considering I haven't enjoyed any type of storyline since Reva's cancer, I think it would've been best to end the show on their 70th anniversary last year.

And that opening theme sequence. Don't get me started... Once again, I can't help but think of a highschool/college project.

But if GL's 2.5 million viewers stick around, I say we all just go ahead and make our own amatuer productions and become YouTube stars.
