Psycho soap fans

I'll bet it was crazy between Shick and Phick fans. Although, personally, as lame as I think Nick can be sometimes, I don't see what all the fuss was about. IMO, it'd be more like one of those "You can take him!"/"No, YOU can take him!" kind of wars.

Its the show's willingness to cater to the super couple mentality that has turned some of the fanbases at DAYS, GH waht have you psycho. Its all relative and in turn by catering to those rabid couple fanbases you end up alienating your core base of fans, JMO.

Right now, the Liz/Sam & Liason/LuSam wars are at the top when it comes to General Hospital's psycho fans. I plead guilty for getting involved in heated debates because I hate the logic Sam fans use to excuse every disgusting sh!tfest of an action she's done this past year.

You've all mentioned possible every soap and some fanbases but you forgot B&B's Brooke vs. Stephanie/Taylor. Let me tell you, they are MAD! It seems like many of them are having a hard time of telling the difference between actor and character here, and these people are mostly not teens. They love to hate on just any actor or actress who comes to mind, especially if there's a new one. Ohh, remember the girl who played Gaby a couple of years ago (Shanelle Workman)? Wow she got trashed real bad and it had nothing to do with her acting. It was the way she looked and just everything they could come up with.

Yuck, aweful people.

Hmmmn....if you mean any criticism of Nuke can lead to you being dismissed as a bigot....then on some boards, probably yes.

For the most part, I think ATWT fans are great. As a Carly fan, I never thought I'd see anything more nasty than the Julia I and II wars. (The Katie stuff pales in comparision...) But some of the Peg/Pem, Craig/Paul, etc. stuff really goes beneath the belt. On some boards, even spoiler threads get mean.

No doubt that the writing has sucked for years. But a big part of why it's so bad is because Corday bends over backwards to give the loudest, most rabid fans what they want. This show desperately needs a new, fresh HW and for Corday to retire and let someone competent run the show. But most importantly, it needs for tptb to ignore every single fan campaign that comes their way, otherwise even the best writer is going to fail.

A crew is sending hate mail to Rebecca Herbst (the actress) re: the character she portrays so that is pretty sick to me

seems some can't distinguish reality from reelality..I draw the line at that sort of thing...send the mail

to the HW or Head of Daytime or Producer but an actor?

To me this is very twisted psychie and very low rent..Then there is the Voodoo crew

from OLTL so? jmo

I am proud to say I have never sent hate mail I just don't see the point in it

they are only acting out what is on their script doing their job if you don't like

it don't watch or FF

When Doug died on May 1st, 1989, it was a huge loss to the show, the other actors & also to the fans.

    • Jonathan Kellerman is definitely the most EON/Slesar-like writer in the business right now.  Unfortunately, he's almost 80 years old.  Interestingly, he has a son (Jesse Kellerman) who's about 45, who's been studying under him.  I believe what makes the Kellermans such effective mystery & crime writers is their background in psychology.
    • I never understood the point of Marchetti. Summer left the show for a job there in Italy. OK. When she returned they had Jack buy the company. Why couldn't Summer have returned and simply stated it was not a good fit, she missed her home , family/friends etc It was absurd that this internationally successful fashion empire could just be bought by a US cosmetics firm at the drop of a hat. What was the point when they never did anything with it at all? Summer simply could have gone to work at Jabot. And wasn't there some nonsense about an offshhoot called Marchetti Home? Was Phyllis attached to that at some point? This show...

    • Haven't seen today's ep yet but so will be interested to see the clothes. So far I think they have been very character specific (even if I don't like some of them eg Kat's cutsie style) Anita is very showy/glittery, Nicole classic elegance, Dani sexy/bold colors etc. Unlike Y&R which seems much more generic. Also BTG pays attention to the men's wardrobe and has developed a style for the boyz-which is harder to do with male fashion. The absence of any of Derek/Ashley at any of these big events again demonstrates how they are in a different universe to the rest of the show. Not that a nurse and a fireman would be there but still they seem destined at this point to stay in their own lane and have little interaction with the core of the show.
    • Agnes had written for Bernard Grant for many years on TGL as well as Ernest Graves and Joe Gallison,Doris Belack,Robert Milli, and  Antony Ponzini at AW. So she would probably gravitate to writing a role with an actor in mind or choosing someone she had written for before who she knew could deliver.
    • Once Johnny Dallas' cut himself off from Laurie Ann Karr and their son, and once Laurie successfully recovered from her mental problems, she wanted a new, fresh, and healthy start for the next chapter of her life. She legally reverted her name and changed John Victor's  surname to Karr. After moving to the country (when Teri  Keane was dropped from the show), Bill and Martha Marceau legally adopted Jennifer, the baby girl whom they had earlier taken in when the child's biological mother, Taffy Simms (and other bio family members) proved to be unfit to raise her. Jennifer legally and emotionally became a Marceau, and gave that name to her own daughter, whom Jennifer birthed through surrogacy as a single parent. Et...voila! The Karr and Marceau legacies live on.
