January 10, 200818 yr Member I just hope that B&E do not mess this up. This could become a great storyline.
January 10, 200818 yr Member This has got potential, though I wounder if the Jack and Erica fans will denounce it like they have with Jackson and Julia even started airing
January 10, 200818 yr Member This has got potential, though I wounder if the Jack and Erica fans will denounce it like they have with Jackson and Julia even started airing Of course they have, but Mario is a great actor and has done many big screen movies compared to boring julia, so they can try to tear him down.
January 10, 200818 yr Member I vowed never to watch AMC when MMCT overturned Erica's ground breaking abortion. But with the trash taken out, and Erica getting a hot and sexy black lover, I have new incentive to give this show a chance.
January 10, 200818 yr Member I had NO idea Mario was on OLTL back in 1982 "One Life to Live" (1968) TV series .... Doc Gilmore (unknown episodes, 1982-1983)
January 10, 200818 yr Member What are you talking about in regards to oltl, they have the vega family, layla and her boyfriend. An for the longest time evangeline was front and center. To me at least oltl and y&r are the only two shows making attempts to showcase people of color. Of course they can do more, but at least they are on. Oops my bad... people are suppose to thank OLTL for treating their minorities like tokens. How many times do you see Cristian and Antonio? Last week they finally brought Carlotta out of the closet to prop her sons' relationships for all but a nano second. Layla and Vincent? Do they even have a storyline? How much do you see them to know they even exist? No wonder OLTL treat their minorities like tokens. The Vegas are a core family that's been around for years and you wouldn't even know it they way ABC treats them. Get real please.
January 10, 200818 yr Member I want to know why the [!@#$%^&*] AMC gets five to seven major black characters and big returns while their writing sucks and their ratings drag OLTL down, but OLTL, the only good show on ABC, gets no returns, and the only contract black people we have are...Vincent and Layla. They both suck. And if I even bothered to write a letter, I have a horrible feeling they'd think I want [!@#$%^&*] Evangeline! As for the Vegas, cry me a fuckin' river. They've been frontburner for years in bad stories with bad acting. They've got decent stories today which I like but I don't need to see more of them than I am right now. Give Vincent and Layla's airtime to better black actors. Edited January 10, 200818 yr by Vee

Get real please. i dont see how OLTL treats them like tokens. because they are not front and center? no. if that were the case than ove rhalf the cast of every soap would be the same. the porblem with the vegas is they were way overused for years and the acting.. well its not great. L&V are supporting players on the show, not stars, and thats how it sould be. At least for now. They are still rather new and should be only seen here and there until fans embrace them and love them and want more of them.
January 10, 200818 yr Member Another gay man getting employment is fine with me, even if he is closeted.
January 10, 200817 yr Member Wow, I just posted at another board not three days ago that they should get rid of Musser and Branson! LMAO! Wow ... finally. I don't wish firings on anyone but they aren't needed.

January 10, 200817 yr Member You mean like newbies Langston, Jared, Gigi, and Charlie. No. Langston has been pulled into the Cramer woman world. Jared is involved with the main family, and Charlie & Gigi are involved with the show star. Its diff. Im not saying that they are not liked by fans, they are, but they shouldnt be on more than they currently are. IMHO. and it has nothing to due with race, but with storyline.

January 10, 200817 yr Member I just hope that B&E do not mess this up. This could become a great storyline. I actually think that those "creatures" are fired, and that somebody else is bringing fan favorites Fingers crossed.

They are still rather new and should be only seen here and there until fans embrace them and love them and want more of them. This is laughable. If the criteria for frontburner storylines were contingent on great acting then half the cast (and Daytime)would be out of a job. Were the fans given time to embrace Spencer, Jared, Gigi, Charlie and all the other White newbies who just breezed in and were immediately given frontburner storylines? Why shouldn't Layla and Vincent be "stars"? I mean really, Tika debuted in 2005 and never ONCE had a storyline when everyone else who came AFTER her got one and continues to get many. Does she need TEN years on the show for fans to "love, "embrace" and accept her??? Come on now. If people don't see the problem in OLTL's minority characters perpetaully supporting the White characters without any storylines to call their own then racism is kicking all to live and too well. Maybe I should also thank GH for giving us Epiphany (the walking stereotype), Lainey (the backburnered psychiatrist) and the two black nurses that should double as extras.
