Thanks for the fairy dust.

I think the crank calls to Ellen Wheeler is a good idea. I can't believe I adored her as Vikki/Marley on AW.

Well history may not be kind to GW but one can never tell. History ended up being a lot knder to R Nixon than I though it would be. But good riddance.

I've been reading that there is a lot of changes in congressional leadership along generational lines. It could be pretty interesting when congress returns after their vacation.

That's your opinion and, apparently, since it's fair game to hurl insults at people, then I'll hurl back.

If I'm a bigot for dissenting and not wishing to support the Obama regime, then you're a [!@#$%^&*] idiot for drinking the Obama Kool-Aid and falling for the rhetoric. Report my post if you like (since there is a double-standard around here and the desire by the socialists in the forum to have me removed is supported by Toups and his lapdog, Ryan, then I'll soon be gone so I have nothing to lose -- not that I particularly give a [!@#$%^&*], of course).

Anyone here who wishes to call me a racist... have it it. Disagreeing or disliking Obama doesn't make one a racist, of course. Obama is bad news... he's a socialist. Bad stuff in my book. It's an opinion based on his desire to redistribute the wealth, control and shut down industries he dislikes (like the coal industry), etc. Call me a racist any old day... at least I'm not blind to the facts. :)

Love,

GoldenDogs

As far as experience goes, if we're talking foreign policy he's got Joe Biden. There are probably hosts of positions where you more or less learn on the job and you basically need good resources. Anyway, I'll wait until he announces his picks to complain. After that I'll move on.

Amazingly enough (and yes I'm kidding), the money from all the tobacco companies that was supposed to go to health care and smoking prevention programs has been spent on almost everything but.

Here's one example:

Of course that California Lottery money is really being used on the schools. wink wink.

Have fun in Vegas!!!

Lookie here, Wales. I've had just about enough of the [!@#$%^&*] [!@#$%^&*] ass from you!!!:lol: And if you don't stop, the fairy dust will not only blind your ass, it will hurt you. Real bad. Really, really bad!:lol:

You're the bomb. ;)

Ummm. Just to clarify one little itty bitty thing, buddy. Prez Obama is in support of clean coal technology. Not exactly what I'd call "shutting down an industry". But that's OK. And one other tinsy thing....the "redistribute the wealth" issue (I'm assuming you meant the tax issue)...that's nothing new. It's been that way forever in the US Tax code, but under Reagan/Bush 1/Bush 2 it's called tickle down. Giving tax cuts to the rich and hoping - beyond hope - that the middle class will eventually reap the benefits.

And BTW, Wales is right. Ryan did apologize to you. And I stuck up for you against this racist name-calling [!@#$%^&*]. FYI.

Ok, assuming it's OK to disagree, It is a little peculiar to call Obama a socialist in light of all that is going on now. The United State government is buying shares in troubled banks and basically bailing out troubled businesses. That is being done under the current administration. Now that is socialism.  I only disagree with the bailout because it is just being handled so inconsistently. You know the economy is a mess. I guess as a country we need to decide if we are willing to accept the pain that will result if we let the economic bad actors just fail. If not, I think we have to come behind some government bail out.

My problem with some of the criticism of Obama is it is still campaign style name-calling. Just what about Obama's proposals are socialist? His tax proposal says he will cut taxes on 90 percent of the public while making people who pay over $250,000 a year pay at the same rate as they did under President Clinton. It's repealing the Bush tax cut that only applied to the wealthiest of Americans. I don't think everyone should just follow behind him blindly, but what is with the name calling?

I also admit that I'm glad that Hillary will be secretary of state. I hope she doesn't screw it up, and frankly that is possible. I still wonder how well the former president will adjust to being the spouse of a secretary of state.

Steps my toe in the water....

CNN is reporting that HRC will be officially named Secretary of State after Thanksgiving. I am not bothering to check if this has been posted because well, I really don't want too. I lvoe you guys, but I am tired of seeing youre a racist, she's a racist. I'm a racist. I hate to admit it, but come on now, all of us are a little. It's really hard to admit though and it sucks and it pains me.

Anyway. I also herd on the news that the current Attorney General, Mikulsky I think is the spelling of his name, passed out while at a dinner in D.C. He did not regain consciousness and was brought to a hospital. No more info yet, but please, lets say a prayer for him that he will be ok.

I also want to note that I really do not want a filibuster free Senate. I fully believe that we need checks and balances. I keep remembering Margaret Atwood's The Handmaid's Tale. It should be required reading for all females

Ryan, thank you very much. I do appreciate the apology and it means a lot to me. >>hugs<< I'm sorry for going off on you the way I did... Plenty of hurt feelings to go around, I guess, and I'm sorry if I hurt yours. I hope you will accept my apology...

Same to you, Greg. I'm sorry for being such a bitch with you... and it also means a lot to me that you stood up against the racist name-calling stuff for me. You know me well enough to know what sort of person I am and how I live my life and what is important to me. We all really want the same things out of life and I hope we can all achieve them, one way or another.

Regardless of who the president is, we've all got to move forward and live our lives. I wish good stuff for you and Ryan...

Hey, thanks for accepting the apologies. It took a lot. I never thought of you as racist. We have different views, but I admired you for that as well as Casey (I really do miss Casey) Stick to your beliefs. I've been around long enough to know that life swings on a pendulum. It's a back and forth kind of thing.

Don't go away because your dissent keeps the rest of us on our toes.

OK folks, my Bruins lost their first game tonight. It was close, they were sloppy. Take heart, I will recover. I see another final four on the horizen (i can't spell tonight) peace out. B)

Lotto money? Hey have you seen the ROP vans that have "Paid for by Ca. Lottery" emblazened on the side? Pasadena unified has a couple. I'm still waiting to see where the rest of the money is going. Do you know that PUSD students don't have lockers. They have to lug 50-60lbs worth of books all day long. :o

I'm going to have to disagree with you on this mainly because I think there's a big difference between having a racial bias and being a racist. Racism to me implies that there is hatred for one reason only and that there is a desire to oppress or see someone oppressed or even injured or dead. A person can favor his or her own race instinctively or in a protective manner (maybe out of suspicion related to something that actually happened or because of fear of the unknown among other reasons). There's no malicious intent or hatred in that case.

While I don't condone hatred, I understand why a Native American, for instance, might feel distrustful of, or even resent white people. Sure, these are different times but if a person is stuck in a situation because his ancestors' land was taken way back when and they were forced to live on reservations and the family's economic situation is pretty bleak, it's easy to understand the negative emotions that come from despair. He might have absolutely no desire to harm anyone or oppress anyone at all. I'll stop because I'm getting mad thinking about it myself.

I guess the dust couldn't be any worse than all the smoke that was in the air from the fires. Anyway if I'm the bomb then you can be da bomb :D

It would be great if Clinton is going to be the Secretary of State that the announcement would be made to effectively kill over another week of drama about it. I don't really care for the Clinton 2.1 White House that's shaping up but I do recognize that having experienced people is a whole lot better than being a newbie with a whole bunch of other newbies. Hopefully, the mistakes that were made by some of thiese people in the past has taught them enough that they won't be repeated.

It's really not the best political move for Clinton since she's going to have to subordinate herself and drop her hawkish stance (unless Obama is going hawkish which will have the liberals in major fits....not that they aren't probably already losing their minds over not only her selection but that some Republicans and good old Joe Lieberman think it's wonderful). She might have input but she's unlikely to be the one formulating any foreign policy....just carrying the message all over. I think Joe Biden will have major input and there's still the matter of the National Security Adviser.

While Secretary of State is a powerful position as far as the outside world is concerned, within the states the average person probably knows very little or has no clue about it. Maybe they don't even care since I did hear quite a bit that people didn't care whether or not other countries favored Obama since it's all about what goes on domestically and what Americans want. The media will cross its fingers in hopes that Bill Clinton does something scandalous.

No I haven't seen the vans. I don't know if LAUSD students have lockers....I never thought to ask. I know that the Hacienda-La Puente district doesn't have them.

I can only guess that they justify not having lockers because of potential criminal activity where kids hide the evidence in their lockers. I know they eliminated showers in some districts because of potential rape and/or sexual activity.

I guess it's better to have nicely painted ROP vans than to have decent textbooks. Or even to pay teacher decent salaries.

Since it's early, I'm guessing that basketball game doesn't really count right? They need to be good to make up for the atrocious football season. I think they had a better record last year.

Thanks UCLAN! >>hugs to you too!<< If we didn't have different views, our country would definitely be a very different place. Checks and balances... What's funny is how some forget stuff I posted a few months ago in which we agreed about issues. I have made clear that there are some issues in which I drift away from "the right". Oh well...

Back to life. :)
