Y&R: Valerie Ahern & Christian McLaughlin OUT

This part isn't good. Christian is a very good writer. His books are extremely funny. He also worked for B&B a few years ago. I'd find it more believable that he came in from the Bells not from Lynne.

Though I've not seen any of his work on Y&R, I think Christian McLaughlin would do well to go back to B&B if they'd have him. He's a good dialogue writer and the kind that that show desperately needs to at least infuse a little humour into otherwise trite stories. His episodes are currently airing over here and I catch scads before work in the morning. I knew one episode in particular was 'better' than the rest and lo and behold his name was in the credits.

Christian came in through Barbara Bloom. The two are very friendly. His stinct at B&B was brief, about thirteen weeks if I recall. He was reportedly let go by Brad Bell, so I doubt the Bells would have hired him for Y&R. No doubt his association with Babs got him the gig at Y&R.

YR: I think we've seen the last of Ahern/McLaghlin. They haven't had a script in 10 episodes.

YR: I think Thurs epi was written by Marla/Beth...since scott doesn't do breakdowns.

Where's Natalie? Where are Gottesfeld/Bennett?

Toups knows where Natalie is...we don't though...but she hasn't been axed.

Gottesfeld and Bennett have been fired. Check the Directors/Writers list, they last aired July 10. Ahern and McLaughlin have also been fired, so no surprise they haven't had a script.

Possibly. I'll wait until the end of the month before I do a "last listed" for them.

Hogan also writes breakdowns, that's why I was hesitant on listing Marla as the BDW.

Natalie's coming back. Jeff and Cherie are still with Y&R.

I guess you didn't see my post from a couple days ago. Jeff and Cherie weren't fired. I was wrong on that. As for them being last listed on July 10, that was for their Associate Head WRiter/script editor duties.

Ah, I wondered...given Toups' certainty that she'd be back.

Can you source that? When will the soap mags realize we care about this stuff, and want "Comings and Goings" devoted to this EVERY BIT AS MUCH as we want it for the actors?
