Seriously. DAYS will never ever get above 3.0 in ratings as long as these people are in the top 10. And I dont understand why Corday loves Shawn and Belle so much anyway. If he wants them to be the future of DAYS, then it should be in his interest to make sure that they stay interesting to the viewers. But having them on almost everyday for eight years is not going to make the viewers feel interested in them.

PR has been in more episodes this year then most of us thought. Granted, he was in alot in May but even before that he was in more then expected. He never really was as backburnered as the rest of the big 4. He was supporting while Hope, John, and Marlena were pretty much gone.

Whatever the case, it's my hope by summer that the top 10 looks much different then it does. I still expect Shelle, Sami, EJ, and maybe Chelsea up there. The rest I don't. Even though SN and MBE deserve to be up there, I think they will get much less airtime then alot of others. They will be on alot but I think they will get lost in the shuffle a bit.

That balance is not that bad. Try characters just as young as Shawn and Belle or only a little bit older being on 100 or 105 out of 109 shows. If this was an ABC show, Brandon and Martha would be closer to a 100 shows.

    • I'm good with the gushing, too. There aren't many soap icons like John Black, and that's important to celebrate and remember. And yes, life does go on for other characters, but as they say, timing is everything. Going sky diving the day before the funeral? And during a week of shows that were so powerful emotionally? No.
    • No. There might have been a slight pause for dramatic effect after his "death," but pretty soon after they showed him in France getting plastic surgery and getting involved with his doctor, then planning with her to bring Christina to France. (She thought he had good reason to do it; she wasn't a bad person or anything). Now that I think of it, there must have been some kind of pause before that, during the 70s, because when Rita was accused of killing a patient when she lived in Texas, part of the backstory was that Roger had been there, too. Not sure exactly when or how long that was.
    • Thank you. She’s disgusting.
    • I've already stated that I don't like Doug being written as this meek and submissive. It was so lame watching him leave her like that. Vanessa can divorce him, but she then needs to get her thot ass into therapy. She's not only having sex with every guy she runs into, but is now having  sex with a skeevy perv on a poker table. I'm going to give the BTG some credit here. For months, many on this board were delighting in the Vanessa/Joey flirting and what they saw as chemistry. I think we're now seeing what the writers always intended -- that Joey is a disgusting POS wannabe mobster.
    • John Black actually was the ultimate good guy soap hero. So I don’t mind the town gushing over him. It’s deserved.
    • Be glad it wasn't a Perry production.

    • The whole town gushing over John Black as if he was a saint is eye rolling.  I guess death really colors people's memories over his many flaws, but I guess that is normal and human nature. I'm still confused as to why Leo hasn't been written out.  The actor stank up two soaps with his sub par acting, what does he have on TPTB's to remain on these soaps.   What's the point of Cat?  I hope the new head-writers figure out her purpose and develop her character. And I much prefer scenes not focusing on John's death because life does go on for the world when someone passes.
