SOD: DAYS Summer Preview...

This reminds me of the time GH told the story of Lila's rubies with Felicia as Lila and Luke as Edward. I think it was their lame attempt at putting them together as a couple without upsetting Luke/Laura and Mac/Felicia fans. Sounds like this is Days' way of pleasing Ejami fans without pissing off Lumi fans.

I can't wait for the Brady/DiMera storyline to be played out this summer. It sounds very intriguing. I like the idea of having Alison Sweeney and James Scott play Santo and Colleen in re-created flashbacks. We all thought flashbacks would be important in this storyline and I'm glad that they are. It sounds like a love story that dates back generations, and now it's happening once again with EJ and Sami. I'm guessing one of the Bradys, perhaps Grandpa Shawn, killed Santo because he walked in on them having sex and probably thought the DiMera was raping his sister, not knowing they were in love. Stefano now has no father and sought revenge against Grandpa Shawn's family. He would make them pay for years to come. Love it!

I don't think there is anything wrong with having Sami be the star of this storyline. She's been leading storylines for the last 10 years. Sami and EJ are the future of this show. There is nothing wrong with them being the stars. John, Marlena, Bo and Hope, they'll all be there. We don't know how much they'll be there. The storylines are sounding very vague. No one knows how much Hogan left out. There's no way this could all that is happening in the summer. DAYS is trying to bring out the big guns and we know that Hogan can do it, just look at October-December.

I am a little confused as to how Doug and Julie figure into the DiMera/Brady storyline. Sounds to me like they're just being thrown in there to be thrown in there.

So Steve and Kayla will be parents this summer, huh? They're not getting backburnered. *Sarcasticly* Anyway, so Kayla wants to become a mother again. Has Steve recovered from his DiMera-caused outbursts? Is he still a psychotic mess? Hopefully, S&K get some sort of resolution.

The teen storyline has to be more interesting than what they're giving us. It's summer, people! In Salem, you know that the teens run the show. I am concerend as to who will all be part of this storyline. Stephanie, Jeremy, Jett and Chelsea are givens. I wonder if Max will figure into the story? I really hope Darin agrees to remain on the show throughout the summer until they find a replacement for Ashley Benson as Abby. Darin is a DAYS gold-mine, if only the writers would give him material to prove it.

Nick's obviously going to prison. If Chelsea is too busy with the Top Guns and Stephanie, I wonder who will figure into his storyline.

How excited am I for this Shawn/Belle/Philip triangle?! I'm sooooo excited. We finally have three awesome actors that will be able to pull this off. I'm glad that there is no psychos coming into play to fight for Shawn's attention. That's something we don't need. Instead, we have Shawn going out and being the one that's trying to get rid of Philip. How does he do this? He brings back Lauren, the surrogate. I honestly thought that was all forgotton. Good job, Hogan! I really hope they found another actress to play the role of Lauren. Lisa Jay, actress before, was fine as a recurring actress, but if this character is going to be here for a while, we need someone better.

DAYS got my attention. I'll be there with them all summer long.

As for the teens being filler, why even write for them if they can't think of a cohesive story with a purpose? I can think of eighteen stories I'd rather see for any character on the canvas than seeing Chelsea and Stephanie jet back and forth between Salem and Vegas. WTF? Yes, it's summer, so they have to play teen stories... can't they write a good one?! I'm not anti-teens, I'm anti-sh!ttystory!

I have no problem at all with Steve and Kayla lounging around on the backburner right now, but couldn't they have at least given them a dramatic and satisfying payoff to their recent story? It's just sort of fizzling out, like the writers are trying to make viewers forget they ever existed.

Why am I not surprised that the spoilers are being bashed yet again for Days?

These are previews, meaning an overview. TPTB aren't going to reveal everything that they have up their sleeves. If they did, why would we even bother to tune in?

These sound great, and the Vegas Teens SL makes sense considering that Chelsea and Stephanie are probably going to be doing the flight attendant thing.

S/K SHOULD be backburnered for a while, or atleast cut back more.

All in all, I will remain positive. I did the same thing for the May previews when they came out, and I've been very happy with the show since.

I think there will be more to all of the storylines than what is being given. Hogan probably got in trouble last time for giving away too much, and then the rewrite happened and he ended up looking like an ass. His reputation is on the line. I wouldn't put myself out there again either.

I'm certainly happy with the spoilers being vague. Makes us want to tune into see what happens, instead of just going "Oh, I don't have to take an hour to watch, I already know what's going to happen!"

Also, I agree with Drew about Hogan. I remember when he gave previews they were very detailed the first time, and I think he learned that when you are a HW on Days, things do not turn out exactly how you want.

Again, my argument isn't that they didn't give out enough spoilers... my argument is that the spoilers they did release sound like crap. Why is everyone suddenly jumping on the "don't knock it 'til you see it" train? It wasn't too long ago when giving negative feedback on the spoilers was the 'in' thing to do! LoL What happened to the "wait and see" mentality back then?

The Vegas storyline might make sense in regards to Stephanie/Chelsea being flight attendants, but I have no interest in seeing them play flight attendants in the first place. Chelsea away from Nick is intolerable, IMO. And Stephanie is just a Chelsea #2. GAG. ME.

I think people have over-estimated Steve and Kayla's airtime over the last several months. From what I recall, they were only ever on three or so times a week. Yes, that's more than B/H or J/M got, but that's far from shoving them down our throats, IMO. I mean, I don't care either way, because I'm not a giant Steve/Kayla fan, but I do feel like Stephen Nichols and Mary Beth Evans are going to be placed with the blame of the low ratings, and that sh!t just doesn't fly with me, because they weren't really on all that much. The show's ratings have been low for MANY reasons, and each of those reasons need to be addressed. I don't want the writers to just lump it all under the category of "Steve/Kayla flopped, that's why. Backburner then and problem solved!" because that's a giant copout.

I also agree with you Drew. I am so happy to hear from Hogan but it does sound like he is being cautious on purpose. I don't have the actual interview yet but, when I do, I will see how he sounds. I don't blame him at all for holding back. He probably knows what has been said about him.

As for Steve and Kayla, Hogan loves MBE so, even if Corday tells him to backburner them, he will find a way to give her something. There story fizzled a bit but the island was their stories conclusion. I think Kayla saving Bo from Steve was the dramatic end. Maybe it wasn't. We'll see. I think the Steve/Kayla fans are happy though. Kayla wanting another child is great for them and them being happy again will please them as long as they are onscreen.

For the fanbasers, the teens being filler is a good thing so that will probably please a good deal of Days fans who seem to hate the teens. I am sure they will be more then filler. This flight attendent thing is probably designed to bring Chelsea and Stephanie closer to the two men. We'll see.

No kidding! No one seems to be grasping this. In spoiler threads, different opinions about the spoilers are given. What could they be about? Do I like them? Am I positive about these? Do I hate them? Why is that? THAT ISN'T WRONG. It's OK to be negative without getting responses treating you like a leper.

But it just seems lately that certain people have nothing nice to say about this show.

No matter what news comes out, they find something wrong with it, and it just makes me wonder why they even bother to watch it.

I was like that too a few years ago during JERk's run, and I just ended up tuning out until it got better, because focusing on the negative just really didn't solve anything. It just pissed me off.

Are you referring to me there? Honestly, I can handle it... I won't be offended if you say that you're referring to me. It's cool.

However, if you are referring to me, I want you to check out the daily Days threads -- especially those from the last two weeks or so. I've been enjoying the episodes and raving about them as such in the threads. I'm not all negative. If anything, I'm just a mixed bag of feedback right now. Some of the show, I love. Other parts, not so much. I think that people are only noticing when I have something negative to say, though.

I want the show to be the best it can be. Not just good, and not just decent... THE BEST IT CAN BE. That's what the writers are getting paid for.
