January 20, 200719 yr Member Got any Q's for Dawn Ostroff? Send 'em! The panel's about to get underway.... • Dawn's making some opening remarks. She noted that Smallville scored its best ratings of the season with last night's "Justice" episode. • Just asked Dawn how confident she is that Lauren and Alexis will agree to another season of Gilmore Girls. "We are talking to them," is all she would say. • Got in a follow-up about the likelihood of a fourth season of Veronica Mars. She loves the show and points out that it's having its highest-rated season yet. But no decision has been made. • Veronica Mars will go on hiatus for eight weeks beginning Mar. 6 to make way for the Pussycat Dolls reality show. Mars will return with five stand-alone eps in April. • "One Tree Hill has been such a great story for us," she says. "[Pairing it with Model] has reinvigorated the show." • On Gilmore's creative direction this season, she concedes that "the first half of the season was a little rocky. [Dave Rosenthal] was painted into a story-line corner [from last season]. I think the second half of the season will be a lot stronger." • Dawn confirms that the idea of picking up The O.C. "did come up," but adds that it's not going to happen. • She'll be announcing a premiere date for Hidden Palms "very soon." • If 7th Heaven ends this season, the final episode will be called a "series finale... again." • One Tree Hill is definitely a candidate for next season, although it's unclear whether the show would take a four-year time jump, as has been rumored. She says the producers haven't approached her with that idea... yet. • Supernatural is holding up "really well" in a tough time slot, and creatively the show is "at its best." • When the time comes for Gilmore to end, she'd like to give producers time to wrap things up. But it's "premature" to talk about that now. Linky Poo
January 20, 200719 yr Member I hope it's not "Heaven" or "Gilmore"'s last season. Those are the CW shows I watch like clockwork. "Reba" was done dirty. Great show, funny show -- horrible time slot. TERRIBLE time slot. And they're probably just burning off episodes so that there would be no penalty for cancellation, as was reported last year. It's sad.
January 20, 200719 yr Member I'm not sure on this 4 year jump thing for OTH. I'd settle them making a season be a year in time if they do go to college.
January 20, 200719 yr Member 7th Heaven should never have been renewed. It should have been Everwood in its place.
January 20, 200719 yr Member Everwood deserved it more than 7th Heaven. Hands down. Biggest mistake they made. I wish SOMEONE would rub it in Dawn Ostroff's face about canceling that for that horrible Runaway show. Reba So sad to see it ending, although I knew this was it's last season, despite bringing in around 3 million viewers, which is more than can be said for any of the CW comedies on Monday.
January 21, 200719 yr Member What they're cancelling Reba? I thought with the 3 million viewers it would be a shoe in for next season. This sucks. Reba is such a funny show. I'd hate to see what awful show they replace it with, considering what we got in place of "Everwood". I've been liking Gilmore Girls alot lately. They did have a rocky start though.

Michael, I don't know if Dawn said it, officially, and I didn't see it in this interview blurb with her, but "Reba" gets the least promotion of any of the net's shows. I'd say "7th Heaven" receives second least. Both shows are treated rather crappy when there clearly is an audience for both. And "Reba," though an underdog, really is a well written, actually FUNNY sitcom. Their poor treatment of it makes no sense. And the show is successful for that network so I can't fathom why they have the attitude of renewing it just so there's no $20 million financial penalty!
January 22, 200719 yr Member I can only hope they do a Justice League spinoff featuring Justin Hartley.
February 12, 200719 yr Member so OTH... the jump... after thinking about it i think it would be an amazing thing todo. college ruines 90% of teen shows.we all know it. so why not just skip the dreded college [!@#$%^&*] and go right into adult life. plus they coulddo so much. and they would have this 4 year thing to play off and do flashbacks for. im glad its doing good. this is its best season ever.
