At first I was going to say that Jordin is a horrible actress - but then she brought on those tears afterwards. I just didn't understand her laughing when she was the last one standing....lol

I'm glad they didn't crush a dream tonight...and glad that we're still getting 2 off next week.

Good show tonight.

I KNEW IT!!!

People on other boards were speculating that they would do a double elimination and I knew for sure once Melinda sat down. I confess I did worry for Jordin but kudos to them for leaving her for last and stunning people. Besides, usually if they have a stunning elimination they allow alot of time at the end to milk it. The contestants didn't look worried so I knew something was up. It would be wrong to eliminate someone tonight given the circumstances and they certainly couldn't tell the people ahead because no one vote.

Good show tonight. The Simpsons and Jack Black/Seal were hilarious. Great moments with Ben Stiller. That Staying Alive thing was lame and nothing but a cheap way of getting as many celebrities as possible in. I knew they would do something like that since they had so many celebrities on. The stories were truly touching. I cried alot tonight, which is hard for me to do. Nice way of ending the show with Bono and the Idols. Very emotional.

Kelly was great and so was Carrie. I enjoyed all the performances really but Annie Lennox. Didn't like that song on her and I like Celine but the Elvis thing was creepy. Not a big fan of those SFX "bring people back to life on stage" things.

I was laughing when Ryan messed up at the beginning. Good show all around and all for a good cause.

Oh, and I just knew Sanjaya would be there

The Celine and Elvis thing was CREEPY. AS. HELL. I will most definitely have nightmares tonight. The white suit? The glow? The way he danced and swayed like crazy while she just stood there?

In the modified words of one of the season's previous performers/coaches...

THAT [!@#$%^&*] WAS BANANAS!

Wow. I didn't stop in here before the show so in all honesty NO ONE going didn't even enter my mind until Jordin was left and I knew they'd never get rid of her.

I was SO worried for Melinda and Jordin tonight. Holy crap.

I think the Idols were pretty aware that no one was going home but Jordin was still shocked, so I'm sure they had an inkling but didn't know for sure. The judges clearly did cause they weren't surprised at all.

And call me crazy but I LIKED Celine and Elvis. Celine is singing where Elvis sang in Vegas so that's the connection and I guess her birth-year of 1968 ... I thought they did a great job with it. Maybe a little creepy but it was an incredible performance. People are just so damn quick around here anymore to bash anything and everything. Be a little more positive guys! God. I'm getting so sick of the negativity. I love SON but it's really turning me off.

While I was worried for Jordin and Melinda due to the whole "most shocking vote ever" thing -- and I'm happy they're safe -- what was the entire point of watching the show tonight?

I have no problem with giving money to organizations and whatnot, but this entire thing was a telethon -- not American Idol. It should've been labeled as such, without false advertising ("one of them will go home tonight!") to keep people watching that boring dreck to the end.

First, last night's show

(1) Melinda, with (2) Blake very close, I thought his "Imagine" was good and I was pissed at the judges for not liking it much, (3)Jordin & Lakisha tied. ----- again Lakisha was a little too loud, and probably shouldn't sung yet another Idol's song, this time Fantasia's "I Believe" (I agree that Fantasia's is better), Jordin sucked on the begining of her song but was very good on the rest (this is at least the 3rd time, she's screwed up the begining of a song, I think she needs to get over being nervous when she first gets on stage. (5) Chris ---- I don't get the judges critique of him last night, he wasn't that good IMHO, just ok. (6) Phil---absolutley HORRIBLE yet again. Yes he sang a country soung, but sure DID NOT sing it COUNTRY. If they hadn't said it was Garth's "Change", I wouldn't knew it. LOL. I can't believe he ranked #1 on AOL's IDOL poll. If he wins, I will quit IDOL for good.

Tonight's show.

I usually am a fan of Annie Lennox, but I think she was horrible tonight. I also think "Bridge Over Troubled Water" is one of the most over-rated songs in history and I hate it.

Kelly Clarkson looked pretty and I loved her song. Was it an old Ray Charles song?

Josh Groban was the best performance of the night.

Loved Ellen as usual.

The scenes in Africa, did bring tears to my at several times during the show, as did the little girl crying with Paula.

Rascal Flatts suck, Carrie was alright on "I'll Stand By You", but I think Gina Glocksen sung it better. I didn't like the song Quincy Jones wrote for the Idols, but the Bono song was pretty good.

I was surprised by the Celine Dion and Elvis duet, it was good. Celine looked good (for her), it was weird and awesome too.

Where were Pink & Gwen Stefani ? I thought they were supposed to be part of the show.

I was sorta surprised that they didn't vote anyone off this week and that they're gonna add this week and next week's scores and kick off the Bottom 2 next week. My picks, Phil (of course) and Chris.

Yiou know what pisses me the [!@#$%^&*] off? If everyone of those stars on the show tonight gave $500,000 or $1 million dollars, then there could be a real and immediate dent in to most of those problems in Africa. It was like, " Okay, you want our money, great, but what about your money? Use it for something good." It would be like pocket change for most of them, and heck a tax write off. Grrr.

I thought Carrie was amazing. She gave me chills. Kelly as awesome too. She put some weight back on, I love that about her. :) The Celine and Elvis thing was awesome. Wow. :)

I forgot about this being a two hour show and watched Jericho because I love it then turned to AI. I'm so happy to have seen Kelly's performance. It was so good and the guitarist is fantastic. He made me have goosebumps. I've got to get that CD. Is Kelly pregnant? She looked like a mountain and the way she and the guitarist went directly to each other and hugged, I just was wondering if they were a couple.

If you think about it, it does appear that the seating was arranged so the lowest vote getters were on the top row and the highest vote getters were on the bottom row. That may have been to give the contestants and the fans a reason to think about how they vote next week. Melinda had to have been wounded to the core, but about this time every season, the voters vote like crazy to save someone they like and neglect the one they think are going to win anyway. Caught Chris and now Melinda voters should be warned. Don't do that to her if you don't want her to go.

I think next week is rock and roll. I'll have to double check that though.

I think it's rock and roll too Jean. It should be Bon Jovi.

Another thought...I have been wondering if this decision to not vote anyone out was planned. I mean, Melinda was in danger and we all know how much Idol hates losing one of the great ones. Jean, you mentioned how they were seated and that got me thinking of this even more. Could Idol have decided to do this after getting the results and seeing that Melinda was gone? I doubt it but that was a theory that popped into my mind.

I agree with you too Kylie, If those stars gave a little more, the impact could be HUGE in addition to all the work Idol did. I did hear the judges and Ryan provided funds and that Carrie and Kelly made contributions. I wish I could find the link to those that were said to have gived something. I am sure they weren't the only ones but I am also sure some didn't give at all. We know Carrie went over too Africa herself so that was good. Madonna is over there too and it looked like Annie Lennoxx did as well. I didn't hear about anyone else though. It was just a wonderful night. Definitely a night to make you think about how lucky we are and it was very inspiring and beautiful to see such outpouring.

I agree, the stars could have given more.

When Ellen actually stood there and seriously said she gave $100,000, all I could do was roll my eyes. That's CHUMP CHANGE for you. Yeah, every little bit helps but you KNOW you could've given a clean million.

As for Celine and Elvis, I thought that was a VERY significant, historic moment in television. Definitely something you'd tell the grandkids about; seeing Elvis perform with Celine Dion.

But.

It was VERY, VERY creepy as hell. Especially because, while the video clearly changed its look like "Passions" does whenever it has special effects in a scene, you could tell it was fake or altered; but just because of how real it SEEMED -- it was phenomenal. I was mortified when I saw him WALKING OUT ON STAGE. That was different. You just don't see things like that on television at an awards show or a "live" (or live to tape, which was it) show like this one. A music video, yes, but with a studio audience and everything? Bringing out a dead person like that? DAMN, THAT WAS CREEPY AND COOL!!

    • Spoke with my contacts at Lifetime. As of now, there is nothing to share in terms of updates.
    • Which is still a form of manipulation. Granted it won't work because Ted isn't interested in Leslie at all no matter how much she tries to make him look like a horrible person. When you consider the situation with Hayley it does make sense why Anita would take that approach.
    • Another good one and great episode to start off the week. Confrontations, character moments, movement, and an awful lot of bubbles on display. lol.    I've found myself liking Sara Bibel breakdowns. And this episode might be why. I sense movement of plot going on. And Jazmen being on script duty has already become a highlight for me. So this episode dealing with more fallout from the SilkPress/Eva reveal was another good one. And even got a solid B plot moving in the Vanessa/Doug/Joey storyline...which I just said yesterday...has been the only one of the B plots...that has real build to it so far.    You are not a real soap pariah until you get dragged and a community treats you as such. So basically another old school soap vibe that Eva is giving me. Watching her trying to find her footing only to be read by just about everyone she has encountered has been great. It makes her so rootable. And she's played by an excellent actress. Cuz that quivering lip at the end with her and Anita...ooooo some of you all seem heated for Anita making poor girl cry even though it's her fault. That's great acting. Not to mention writing.    I also love that the side character got their point of view. I loved Mona moving about town trying to get info to avenge Nicole in a way. And she dragged Eva. She read Silk Press Sheila. And that 'enjoy the burn' was well-said. And did I see a spark with Mona and Randy? Hmmm. I don't mind.

I also didn't mind that Martin/Kat scene. I enjoy their sibling relationship so far. And I feel like the right thing to do to keep them close as they support their mother. It even made sense that Martin would soften to the idea of Eva as part of the family given their brief scene at the start of this storyline. Meanwhile, NO from Kat. lol. And she's already questioning the DNA test...OF COURSE SHE IS. But again...that avail...her and Eva being the SAME age. Twins. I just felt the writers are really foreshadowing that heavy. Meanwhile, the SilkPress saga is far from over.   I love the parade of Ted Visitors. LMAO!!! I thought Dani vs Ted was pretty good. But I about fell out when Anita walked up in there like old school Sonny Corinthos. And I hollered with Anita wiping the floor with Ted with Dani in the background like Jason Morgan. Watch your step, Theodore. Anita was giving Boss Bitca and I was living.    That said...I didn't like Anita making poor Eva cry. But as was said above...the stuff with Hayley is still too fresh on the Duprees' mind. So sadly understandable, Anita set down the law.    Uh oh. Dani saw Vanessa with Joey. Granted they are not the BFFs, but I do hope that that means we are getting a Dani/Vanessa scene. And I loved that we got another step in the B storyline. Doug fighting (and failing) in his addiction. Meanwhile, Vanessa resisted hers. And Joey did not look happy.    And saying the best for last. I LOVE Nicole vs Silk Press Sheila. Ooooo Nicole got under her skin good. And I loved it. I also hollered at Silk Press couldn't even be fake nice for 5 whole minutes to her. DD did soooooooo good. The body language. The looks. The inflections on just the right words. I LOOOVVVE that confrontation and looking forward to more since she clearly verbally cracked SilkPress's face. Meanwhile, I was just as taken aback at Ted showing up at Silk Press Sheila's place. I also thought it was another fantasy. Nope. And then SilkPress put the moves on him and went just a little more cray cray in the coda.    Just such a great episode.

    • Nope still in development. ABC/Disney are having their upfronts today though, so there's a very slight hope we might get an update.
    • Has anyone ever posted January and February 1974? I can't find them in the 'Look Back to 75' thread. Thanks.
    • Did January and February 1974 DSN ever get posted? I can't seem to find it in this thread.
    • I agree. Especially after SilkPress got back to her apartment and started to mock Nicole. Her dislike for Nicole and seeing her as a threat to her getting Teddy Bear is growing worse. So I could see her pulling a kidnapping on Nicole at some point. If anything she was going there to poke the bear and got pressed (pun unintended) when the bear gathered her.   Completely understandable.

    • I swear this entire time I thought Roman knew about the Phillip/Vivian letter lol.  I do like how mature Roman/Kate are as a couple.  It makes me sad the new writers never got a chance to write for John/Marlena. I agree with @AbcNbc247 that the Felicity stuff is a bit after school special-y.  I am pretty sure that (most) of the viewing audience is aware that a grown man should not be shouting at any teenage girl especially one with disabilities.  Just let Xander apologize and move on. Linsey Godfrey was in her Sarah baby voice mode today and it irritates me to no end.   I know it's a cutesy thing her and Xander do but it's annoying. Bringing Kevin back is strange, but I do like the use of history.  I do think Rex probably could have been used instead, but whatever.  I don't care about Rex much either lol.
