Thanks, DruRocks. That scene was full of great Dru lines!

"You don't give a good kitty about my son!"

"Wild horses couldn't pull me out of Genoa City!"

"Oh, no. I got a problem with you, BETCH! I got a problem with you!"

"That's right! RUN! Call the cops! See if I care, B-E-T-C-H!!!!"

Regarding Y&R's dialogue, I used to think it was weird how everybody talked like they all had Ivy League degrees and read the thesaurus as a hobby. I mean, everybody. It was like the writers were trying to one up each other and see who can write the most verbose script. So, I like seeing some characters talk like normal working class or normal young people (at least as real TV can write young people). But, I wouldn't mind characters like Victor throwing around the word EGREGIOUS every now and then. LOL! The dialogue really was something that set Y&R apart form the other soaps.

I love my girl Dru, but karma definitely bit her in the tail. Actually, I'm glad this happened to her, so that will be one less thing people can say she didn't pay for. LOL!

Poor Eileen Davidson got a crappy exit from the show. This whole set up was too hasty. And in their attempt to make Jack look like an SOB, it just made me hate Ashley for thinking that her brother could possibly commit murder and that she has to go a thousand miles away because she can't deal with him anymore. Puh-leeze! We're officially down to an Abbott family of 1. ***weep, weep***

David Chow is another character to add to my annoying list. I get a kick out of my mama calling him Lujack.

Jana & E. O'Brien continue to impress me. (Serial killah, anyone? :D)

Still don't like M. Sullivan & D. Chow. Chow being The Winters' neighbor? Sublet? Looks like he's staying in GC for a while.

Yes, the friendship is back! Drucilla & Sharon that is. :D

Oh my goodness! Stop the presses! Tell everyone u know! Lily was smarter than Colleen today! The majority of Lily/Colleen scenes were just filler. I hope A. Korbel ends up slicing dumbed down Colleen's neck & .....

Cane is very good looking, but is D. Goodard a good actor? Time will tell.

I'm slowly becoming intrigued by Amber. (I loved how the wasted Sally Spectra pronounced her name: Ambah )

I loving Michael! Grabbing the deranged, evil animal Sheila by the throat was the best scene of the ep. My hatred for Sheila reached a new high today when she yelled for help as Michael answered his cell phone & it was Lauren on the other line. Heed Paul's adive, Sheila: Shut up!:lol:

Sheila throwing out all the food Paul shouldn't have given her in the 1st place out of the cage was

Writing: Looks like either Janice Ferri Esser or Natalie Minardi Slater wrote the breakdown & Cherie Bennett & Jeff Gottesfeld wrote the script. Bennett & Gottesfeld are very good writers. Bill Bell Jr., Steve Kent & Barbara Bloom were desperate for changes on Y&R, so about 3 months after joining the team as creative consultant, LM Latham became head writer. Then about 6 months after that, Latham become EP. I still think it was a good decision to fire JF Smith. K. Alden shouldn't have quit; she knows Y&R's history better than Latham. But please Brian Frons, don't make JF Smith GH's new head writer.

Grade (1/11/07): Weak B

Ratings are in and Y&R rose another two points to a 4.5 weekly average. Last years weekly average was a 4.4. The good thing is that it was Katherine's big reveal. Hopefully the writers see that we enjoy seeing Katherine and Jill and give the Chancellor's more to do! Now they need to bring back Billy and Mac, originals of course.

OMG, Cane is a hottie! I need Lily and Colleen both to go take a flying leap, ASAP. I love Dru's horror of seeing that her clothes had been ripped to shreads. David Chow is gonna have my girl Dru bouncing off some rubber walls by the time he's done with her. Sheila has me LMAO calling Lauren "the little woman" and goading Michael.

Currently watching, and almost half-way through. It's not that bad today :)

I love how Pheila gets to Michael. Michelle Stafford does a great job in this role!

Glad to see Lauren finally get out of that damn house.

Love the Dru/Sharon friendship and I'm surprised it still continues.

I hate Amber in Genoa City! There's no point to this girl being here. AHH! She and the professor are total snoozeworthy.

It doesn't take a genius to figure out who the mysterious Cane is...

Hate David Chow, and it's not the good hate either. I don't love to hate David, like AMC fans hated David Hayward. Poor character...

I'll stay clear of hot waters today and limit my post down.

Poor Eileen Davidson - what a lame exit. She so much deserved better. I mean we get flashbacks for any sh*t these days but no real flashbacks of decade-long characters (see also Jill/Kay)?

Again, I'll restrain myself. But this David character!? He was murdered on AMC right? I can totally get why...

LMAO over Jana picturing Prof Ho-bell as a serial killer. I knew why I liked her intitially, she's sometimes just too much, yet overall still Latham best creature.

Michael Graz/Daniel sported a new look. And he looked good (too old/mature for Lilly though) - memo to Thad Luckinbill: ask for help, that "moustache" is hideous...

    • I don't really care about what the men are wearing, or not wearing.   What I care about is focusing on the writing and character development for each of the male characters. Andre really doesn't have a lot of character development that sets him apart from the other male characters except that he seems content to be degraded and mistreated by the elitist Dani.  I would like to know why a good looking younger guy like Andre would willingly be at the mercy of an emotional vampire such as Dani.   Martin, on the other hand, seems to have decent character development.. and it is partly due to how the actor chooses to recite his lines.  Martin was raised in a very privileged household and probably went to the best schools... so it makes sense that he would come across as thinking he was above everyone else.  Most people raised in a upper class situation as the Duprees would view themselves as better than others (it's the same trait Dani seems to employ on those she feels superior to). It makes me wonder how Nicole came out of that family being so warm and nurturing  when her family dynamics seemed very appearance oriented.
    • I know, right. I after just re-reading the thread, I'm like ooppph!
    • Lulu and Dante were divorced before her coma, but she was still in love with him.  He just didn't know.  They haven't been married for years.    I was pretty mixed about Lulu getting involved when it was just a child out there in the world, but now that she realizes it's Gio I am okay with her telling Dante.  It also is her son's sibling.  I still think it's BLQ's choice though.  Lulu is in a rough spot because I think Dante will be mad if she keeps it a secret and Chase, Brook, Lois, etc will be mad if Lulu tells. Without veering too far into the classic area of the show, I had no problem with Robin telling AJ about Michael.  It may not have *exactly* been her place, but she could see how Carly was manipulating the entire situation.  It also ruined her romantic relationship with Jason for good.  Jason and Sonny were furious with Robin and practically ran her out of town, so I think we were to believe she was the bad guy.  It was a bit out of character for Robin to spill, but KMc was leaving the show.
    • Rewatching/binging THE X-FILES Seasons 1 and 2 (almost done). So much fun re-experiencing, especially re-discovering some of the monster-of-the-week stories. THE WEST WING Seasons 1 and 2 as well - so good to rewatch now with 20 years more life experience and understanding. ALSO.... lol FOOTBALLERS' WIVES Season 3, which is just as bonkers as I remember and so so so so fun. I had forgotten about that iconic season cliffhanger. Good times. Excited to rewatch Seasons 4 and 5 since I remember so very little about them. Hope you've been enjoying!
    • @Toups Tyler Topits listed in alpha order with the breakdown writers 5/12 Monday episode. O'Connor still listed as both breakdown and script writer. Kreizman wrote today's script.
    • Marland was long gone by this point.  He quit in either August/September 1982. I think it was due to letting the actress play out her contract and use her for party scenes and/or scenes with Phillip/Justin.   I was surprised she was still on in June 1983 myself, because I figured she had been written out before Pam Long joined the writing staff. Thankfully, having episodes uploaded during this period on Spauldingfield YT site has helped to connect some of the dots.  It looks as though Pam Long starts the first week or so of May 1983.. and in those first few weeks: Morgan and Evie were both written off and Lillian/Mindy/Billy/Beth/Annabelle all come onto the show.
