Does anyone know when Gina Tognoni's contract is up as Dinah on Guiding Light? I've always wanted her to return to One Life as Kelly, as I think she is such a better actress now, than she was when she was younger. I could see her as the star of the show as Kelly, while on GL, Dinah is always going to

be treated like second best. thanks for the help.

I would guess May/June 2007, but Gina would be stupid to leave her Emmy award winning role as the complex, layered Dinah (even though right now they're not writing her as such) to go back to OLTL where she'll be invariably wasted by that hack Higley.

Dinah returned to Springfield in the form of Gina Tognoni during the first week of July 2004. Most soaps sign their actors to four year contracts, but with "Guiding Light" who knows. Tom Pelphrey signed for two years and he arrived in September 2004, and John Driscoll was signed to a longer contract without a story in place for Coop.

Doesn't ABC pay better than CBS though? I don't think that "One Life to Live" would bring Kelly back though. I respect both Gina Tognoni and Heather Tom immensely, but I just don't see them replacing Tom with Tognoni. If Gina Tognoni does jump ship, "Guiding Light" should try to get Jaimie Alexander from "Watch Over Me", Alexander bears quite a resemblance to Tognoni.

I dunno about that, but if I had to take a guess, everyone pays better than GUIDING LIGHT. GL pays their actors with Tootsie Rolls and Blow Pops.

I hope Gina doesn't leave. Anything that has been good on GL over the past three years has been because of her. Her Dinah is absolutely divine.

ITA. Dinah is one of the few things I can consistently enjoy on GL right now, even if she is in a dumba$$ storyline right now.

I agree! I want Gina Tognoni to return to ONE LIFE as Kelly. Hopefully she'll do it and Dan Gauthier could return at the time as Kevin. I tried for a bit to watch GL after I got disgusted with GH, but I couldn't get into GL, probably partially due to the fact that I cannot stand Kim Zimmer.

I love Gina and hope she stays with Guiding Light...just please get her out of this stupid TV show storyline!! They should give Dinah and Vanessa a kicking storyline together, which would be just freaking awesome! And I mean a real, honest to God story!

I wouldn't mind if Gina leaves if WENDY MONIZ returned. Gina has nothing on her Dinah! But then of course the writing was better.

Gina Tognoni's no doubt a really good actress but she hasn't helped to make her crap of a storyline any less boring. I used to be intrigued by Dinah but now, all her scenes just go through one ear and out the other. I hope she sticks around but if they can't give her a better story than what they've given her this past year, I'm not sure I'll care if she sticks around or not. She's really starting to remind me of ATWT's Terri Colombino. I used to love Katie and TC until they started giving her immature, repetitive stories. Now, I'm at the point where I would love to just see TC let go and find a better role. While Dinah does have a lot of layers, it's starting to get lost in the stories she's been given.

I doubt Gina Tognoni would return to OLTL. She loves her role on GL and loves Wheeler/Kriezman. If she left GL, it would be to leave soaps. Her contract with GL expires in May 2007 which is about six months. I doubt Gina will renew for a long period of time but I would love to see her get a big storyline similar to Cynthia Watros. Gina is a fabulous actress IMO should go out and test for pilots. Pilot season is coming up and see what happens. If she lands a pilot or series then leave GL. Her returning to OLTL I doubt would happen. She loves OLTL but right now there is no real need for Kelly on the canvas right now. Also Gina has stated she grew up on that show but she felt like she finished that role. It would be a step backwards to return to OLTL and she hated the writing or Kelly the last years she was there. ABC has tried to get Gina back many times. She was asked back in early 2003 and she almost signed a deal but backed out at the last minute. Then they hired Tracy Melchior who failed in the role and after she failed they tried again. She said no again and they hired Heather Tom. If Gina leaves GL, it would be to leave soaps not to leave for another soap. I think Gina should go out for primetime. She is absolutely amazing and IMO a better actress then she was on OLTL. On OLTL I liked her and thought she was good but never great. On GL she has gotten to be an amazing actress and her acting has grown to a major level. She has superstar written all over her. She is gorgeous and so freaking talented on top of it.

JohnnysBro, Kelly's changed a lot since Gina Tognoni left. She's matured and become a mother. I think there's more for Kelly and Kevin as well. ONE LIFE should've never axed them.
