According to my records, Frances last appeared in September, before Sheffer's takeover.

I hope that this is misuse of vets and that there;s not some other reason she hasn't been working. The woman just turned 93. I'm almost afraid to see her come Christmas episodes.

Like you said, she is 93. She probably can't do the all of the scenes she used to, even if they were just sitting around and adding a few comments here and there. I'm sure she'll be at the Horton Christmas. I wouldn't be surprised if we're reduced to seeing her 1-3 times a year. It's understandable.

It's such a drastic change. I guess that's what has me freaked out more. These past few times, she's seemed so lively - this shift just doesn't feel right. Of course, it could very well be Hogan's attack of the nonexistant vets. But they've been used frequently, especially for Hogan's reputation.

She last aired on September 21st, Matt and Missy's last episode. I have wondered the same thing as you Keith and am afraid to see what she may look or act like if she appears on the Christmas episodes. I know she can't live forever, I just adore Francis and enjoy everytime she is on. I am going to cherish each scene she is in from now on because it always could be her last. :(

Wouldn't it be awesome if Alice somehow figured out that Hope's baby was really Bo's. It could be her Christmas gift to them. I know Francis is getting older and maybe can't work as much as we would all LOVE to see her, but we can dream can't we.

I miss her too and she did like great the last time we saw her but she is 93. I don't expect to see her more then 10 times a year at most. It can be expected that she can't appear like she used to. It certainly isn't misuse of the vets because Victor, Maggie, Caroline, and Shawn Sr have been around. I just think it's the fact that it's hard for her to work at times and, sadly, she does have a hard time with her lines at times. Usually someone has to help her around too if it isn't a scene with her sitting down.

I hope it's not anything like an illness or something because I love her. I am sure we will see her in the holiday episodes.

Actually, how long has it been since we've seen Alice standing or walking, period? It's been a good while, I think. Maybe years.

I remember her at least standing in a few of her scenes over the years. I remember one scene in 2003 after JER took over and Shelle were in the church praying or something and there was Alice standing in the doorway under this amazing light.

Weird I remember that.

I love Frances Reid and her absence has been noticable. She at least appears once a month. I worry about her health :(

Yeah it's been awhile. All I am saying is she needs assistance or someone nearby. I just hope there is nothing wrong because her appearances have dwindled over the years but it has been awhile since seeing her.

I am sure we will see her in two weeks.

Frances just turned 92. Remember, IMDB and most of the other databases that use IMDB are incorrect. She was born on December 9, 1914. Her 1930 census record confirms that, plus the soap magazines did big stories on her 90th birthday party back in December 2004. Jason

Many people live to the age of 100 or more. I unfortunately doubt that will be the case with Frances (sniff) but it's possible. We could have another whole decade or close to it with Frances on screen! That is, as long as she's able.
