With John and Marlena, they're damned if they do and damned if they don't. I can't think of any other couple that gets grief from so many DAYS viewers than those two.

I suppose if Smokey Robinson serenaded Sami and Lucas, everyone would gush about how romantic it is. So I don't understand the hostility with J&M. Just because they're older doesn't mean they should be strictly grandparents sitting in a rocking chair. These two have always been full of passion, and why should they stop now?

Hogan and his writers have brought some of their essence back, and it's good to see, after Reilly podded them for so many years.

Philip has no rights to Claire, and a judge with some brains wouldn't give him custody to her. Belle is the most responsible parent right now. Who can blame her for setting up some type of guidelines for Shawn and Victor? One is a hothead banging a hooker, the other is a manipulative schemer and always will be.

A child born to a couple in wedlock belongs legally to those two people. Legally, Philip is Claire's father and has every right as any father to her custody. I doubt that Belle would try to cut Philip out of Claire's life ever and may not even try to go to court to have her declared as Shawn Brady's bastard child. That is what she would have to do. Reading the legality of this sort depends on states but what is prevalent in all states is that the court takes the stance for what is in the child's best interest. If Belle went to court to negate her birthright with Philip, he would have to be petitioned and have his say in the matter. The court would then decide if Shawn Brady or Philip Kiriakis represented the best father for Claire. At this point in time, guess who that would be. The father who is the legal father and has spent more than a year with her.

Sorry, guys, but the Smokey Robsinson scenes were INCREDIBLE!!! It was like the Harlem Globetrotters visits the Scooby Doo gang! I really hope the show integrates more stores with its current cast of characters. Seeing a noteworthy celebrity on a soap gives it more clout and makes the show more relevant. That aside, the scenes WEREN'T cheesy. Sorry, guys, they were touching and brilliant.

As for Steve and Kayla, sorry again to those of who you disliked the scenes. Unfortunately, you didn't get the magic. As the memories started flooding back and Steve kissed life back into Kayla, I swear, I almost CHOKED TO DEATH on some strange emotional outburst. It was a mixture of laughing, crying and the inability, all of a sudden, to really get good breaths. Seriously, CHOKING it was so emotional and touching. Now that's a supercouple. And good writing.

Now for the SHOCKER that shocked all "Days" watchers. WHO would have guessed that was Philip. With all the Stefano rumors I totally thought it was Stefano. Besides, if they STOPPED being passionate, how frickin' out of character would that be? They've always been passionate. Even when they weren't "together-together". That's why they ended up having the affair. They have a unique and incredibly deep bond.

I have been wondering the same thing. That and the fact that he seems to hate almost everything about the show.

Pest Spray, Bree. and KBT= you are all so right about this. It would be out of character for J&M and this worked for J&M. Hell, it works for any of the Days couples. Under B&C, Bope had alot of these music montages and I think they danced together when Kelly Moneymaker was a guest. The stuff with Steve/Kayla and J&M may have been corny but fans want to see these things. It's called romance. The fanbases love it and that is what Days is going for. Is it sometimes too much? Yes but it works and I am glad the fans of these couples are finally getting romance because it has been absent for a long time now. Who cares about the age? I love the fact that there is still passion between J&M and the other couples.

I just love the fact that there is romance back in Days, and not just casual sex all the time just for the sake of it. Yeah, it did come off kinda corny, but I really don't care. As long as John is not trying to swallow Marlena's face (Which he used to do) and they have a real emotional connection once again, it doens't bother me one bit.

What I can't figure out is why anyone would spend an hour of their day to watch a show they obviously hate. That just baffles me.

Anyone who thinks a couple should not have love scenes or be romantic or passionate......regardless of their age...I mean why are you watching soaps? Oy. Alice and Tom had little cute romantic scenes up until the very end. Hell, their REAL wedding/marriage didn't even take place until like 1990.

It's just the quality of the scene I did not like. Him picking her up and dancing with her was cute. Having Smokey Robinson being an Axe-Murdering forest-dwelling recluse was what I was questioning. No me gusta.

Yeah King your right. Everything did work and the parts where they had Smokey with the hood on and were implying he was a threat were bothersome. I didn't care too much for that but, then again, she was in a cabin that was basically Alex North's so maybe they were trying to make us think it was dear, old Alex .
