Now if Kelly were playing LIVVIE LOCKE on GH, that would be another matter. If she were royally effed up vixen Livvie, with Kimberlin Brown and Jon Lindstrom for parents, she would just be unstoppable.

But the character of Sam i have never understood. She is so 1 dimensional.. a genuinely nice character who just makes dreadful mistakes all the time and has no apparent intelligence or emotional depth. How does that make sense? She has had all these blood ties created for her that just makes it SO CONTRIVED that it makes her even more of an artificial presence on the canvas. Don't get me wrong, i like Kelly Monaco A LOT but this is one of the WORST, most poorly conceived characters in modern daytime history and it totally shows. Even the name Sam McCall... its just blank. Such a fcking pity. Such a waste. I lament.

Also, there is no other character in daytime past or present called Livvie, i mean the name Livvie Locke is wonderfully soapy and ranks alongside Erica Kane, Brenda Barrett etc as truly memorable. A waste! She had all that history and ties to Kevin and Lucy and more old faves and they just blew it all to hell, to denounce that the miserable failure spin off Port Charles ever existed i guess. And OLTL got Easton, and its been [!@#$%^&*] hell ever since.

The only reason Sam is a "pointless" character is because she's written that way. I totally HATED Sam when she first came to town, especially when she hooked up with Sonny (that was the CarSon fan in me saying 'STAY AWAY BITCH'), however in hindsight, they weren't that bad. They were especially 10x better than that god awful Soily.

I instantly began to like her a little more once she moved in with Jason. I always thought that they made Sam weak by having her be co-dependant on a man. I for one don't like when women are written as co-dependant and that they "need" a man to define them. That's sad and sexist.

I think that if they write Sam as more independant she'll be a lot better. I'm very interested in seeing the relationshp between Nikolas and Sam develop (in the next coming weeks) and seeing her have a job away from the police station.

I really want to see Sam interact more with her family! I would love to see Nikolas and Sam interact as cousins. You don't really see family interaction on GH unless your talking brother/sister relationships, which i always found wrong. I mean i spend time with my aunts and uncles and cousins at least once a week along with my grandparents! I definately want to see Jason and Sam split apart for alittle while, but maybe eventually finding their way back to each other, sort of like what Liz and Lucky did? I think Sam paired up with someone esle for a while may be something to redeem her, or maybe she could just go without being in a relationship for awhile, have her work towards a better relationship with her mother or something!

I was on the fence about Sam until she got shot and Jason broke up with her. When she said she was nothing without Jason, that's when I started to HATE the character. I mean for her to say that was just one of the most pathetic things I've ever heard a woman say.

I can't stand Sam. She's ruined GH. I can't even watch. She makes me sick and takes up WAY too much airtime.

You can hate Sonny (as a matter of fact I do) but he was around before the writing slump hit Port Charles - unless Sam who hops from pointless bedmate/storyline to another. This is not only ridiculous but so annoying. Just look - this character is in a neverending circle which make it the more “interesting” since by now she slept with every headwriter’s pet: Jax, Sonny, Jason & Ric. So only Luke is left I guess, yet, or thank goodness he’s not that well-liked by the TPTB at GH...

Of course I’ll be unpopular with the above mentioned statement because of a certain disease “Jasam” *gag me* - however I’m 100 % behind it.

lol..thanks. Love ya too Jason and Sam rock. I loved the other day after she left Alexis' house, when Jason tried to come to her rescue and take care of her she told him "thanks but I think I can do this on my own" Loving her being more indepent and love how feisty she has been

I find her bland. And it wasn't until Jax mentioned it that I remembered she came on this show specifically for the Jax character, and was written completely different. She was tough, she was a tomboy and she was smart.

But the Sam character had to be retooled in order to make Sonny dominant and make her less threatening to the Carly character... and it was all downhill from there.

I saw a glimpse of the original Sam during the last two days, when she broke out of the PCPD and jumped the rooftops and covered Jason while he made a break for it during the shootout. But for the last several months, all of this weak and mamby pamby "oooh Ric is so evil and I'm so lost without Jason and I was taken advantage of by Ric because Laura Wright's character says so" crap has made me want her gone! There's nothing that irritates me more than weak, helpless, needy women... especially when they bring it on themselves at a need to have a man. I admire and look up to strong, secure and independent women. I always have, and that's why I adore Kelly Monaco, because the chick is KICK ASSSS in real life. It just frustrates me that the writing doesn't allow her to infuse that into the Sam McCall character.

I'm tellin' y'all... if I have to see Sam cry one more time... ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGH!!!! :angry:
