Don't know if this was posted or not yet, sorry if it has been...Credits finally revealed that English actress Jane Carr was playing Tabitha this week. She is most famous for the counselor role on the NBC sitcom "Dear John."

I think it was a really bad idea.

Juliet Mills is ok isn't she?

Why did they have someone else playing Tabitha?

Agreed. This was perhaps THE worst decision "Passions" producers have EVER made. Tabitha should have stayed offscreen while Juliet performs in her play. Pity that NBC actually revealed FakeTabby's identity because now viewers know WHOM to hate on for stealing, even if temporary, the role Juliet Mills was BORN to play. There's NO substitute for Juliet. !@#$%^&*] could be Dame Judi Dench and it STILL wouldn't fly. SHAME on you, "Passions." SHAME!!!

JSF, I would love to see Judi Dench on PSNS!

Well, if she can star on that HORRID, bland sitcom of hers, she can certainly do a stint on "Passions," which actually has a reasonable amount of entertainment value! But again, NOT as Tabs. NEVER as Tabs.

Really? Ever? In the entire history of Passions? Because as only a very casual viewer up until Christmas last year, I would have thought that having an arangatan as a character in love with....was it Luis?....would be right up there...but maybe I missed the subtley of that storyline....and maybe you mean worst decision to temporarily recast, hmm?

I guess I'm the only one who didn't absolutely despise temporary Tabitha. Would never pick her over Juliet (EVER) but I figured Juliet needed time off, and Tabitha was too vital to the storyline to be written out at that time, so...I just accepted it as a necessity.

I would never have guessed it was Jane Carr. It didn't sound like her at all.

Passions loves temp casting and usually they do ok at it (look at Kam Heskin) but this was a mistake. Juliet Mills is in a different league then any of the actors on the show (except Ben Masters who is up there with her and Lindsey Hartley who rocks but is too young to be up there with Ben and Juliet). Passions should have never done this. Tabitha was not on Thursday or Friday so why couldn't they just use Endora in the beginning of the week to cast spells and just write Tabs off entirely during this week? Stupid move. Nothing against Carr but this was a horrible move and she was terrible in the role IMO.

Actually, that was a HUGE hit. Most fans loved Precious. She would still be on the show if not for animal rights activists. ;)

Actually, I figured it was her. NBC Daytime tends to go for 'celebrity' extras and guest stars whose heyday was in the '70s, '80s or early '90s. (I guess they come cheaper). She really has a very distinct voice, too.

I tend to agree, Phoenix. Watching TempTabitha was like receiving lethal injections and you just can't wait until it's OVER. How many minutes of my life did FakeTabby waste of my life? Minutes I will NEVER get back? I am LIVID!

She does have a very distinct voice, and I think she's funny actress - last time I saw her was in Curb Your Enthusiasm - but the voice I heard sounded nothing like her. I went back to my tape after I found out it was her, just to see if I could hear that it was Jane Carr, now that I knew, and still, I would never have guessed.
