GL: 15,000 Episode

Okay, Springfield has been turned on its ear. I'm dying laughing here. Alexandra as waitress? Lizzie as a nurse? bwahahaha

However, I do have to admit that I got a bit teary when the good Reverend mentioned his ancestor, Rev. Rutledge and his friendship lamp (taken from actual GL history, although Rev. Rutledge was in Five Points and never set foot in Springfield) and that the light of the light house had the power of 15,000 candles meant to represent the 15,000 souls of Springfield (supposedly the population of the town when the lighthouse was constructed).

Very enjoyable!! I was a little disappoiinted though. I was waiting for Blake and maybe even Holly to appear (I'd read somewhere Holly was going to be in this show). Instead, they weren't! Where were Beth and Lillian too?? Sure they're "recurring", but they managed to get Alexandra in...

This was a great episode. It was a hoot watching everyone be so different from what they really are like in real Springfield. And kudos to David Kreizman... nice use of the lighthouse for symbolism...

Dinah was a hoot as a hippy. Good episode.

They ran a promo sometime yesterday about the 15,000 episode. If it ran elsewhere or when I don't know.

I've been seeing promos for it for about a week now. Also, they ran promos at the end of GL about a month ago or so as part of Daytime Dollars where one DD winner would get to go to the taping of the 15,000 episode. I've known it was coming for a while now. lol

I saw it. It was kinda funny...loved all the role reversals. And for ONCE, Remy wasn't getting on my nerves. Maybe because the actor was playing up the comedy. He had homothug down to a "T."

Dinah as a lobter-saving hippie was funny too.

Who wants to bet that this may be one of GL's Emmy Submissions?

Dinah was hilarious and...and...and...that was about it. The rest was a train wreck. The whole show was basically just a dumb Reva Inside The Light: Thursday Edition. It should've been about the show as a whole, not about Reva and it should have included more emotional encounters than cheap gimmicky laughs.

I didn't even know it was a special? Tuned in saw Reva and changed over to GH.

ICAM. Dinah was funny. Reva...., well, I have lost patience with Reva.

Boy, I thought the ATWT's special eppys in April were bad. They were no where as bad as this. GAWD...I thought Josh was going to jump into a vat of beer and christen himself the Man-ho of Springfield.

It was good...but you know for the 15,000th episode of GL...they should have done something more traditional, rooted it in value and tradition.

Alexandra, Dinah and Olivia were the best ones there.

I thought Josh was going to baptize himself the man-slut of Springfield to...it would have been great if he had.

LOL @ Buzz: You proclaimed yourself the saint of Springfield. HA!!!!

I enjoyed this episode for what it was.

I was pleasantly surprised that they incorporated the idea of "15,000" in there...usually, numbers are never mentioned when anniversary specials are made.

Reva being the center of this show..umm, I don't know how I feel about that. It did feel kinda like it was her ITL but it was awesome seeing everyone acting so differently.

Marj Dusay nailed the part of a waitress. Olivia as a nun was hilarious. Mandy Bruno did a pretty good job of acting like a Paris Hilton wannabe. My jaw dropped when I saw Alan with a tattoo. It was like the Spauldings were the Coopers and vice versa exept a "gazillion times worse".

Jonathan as a respectable doctor was an interesting twist. Lizzie still seemed the same to me even though she was a nurse but her comment about having her job till she could go to the Congo had me chuckling. Stephanie Gatschet nailed the bad girl role. It's like the Tammy & Jonathan roles were switched with Lizzie as Sandy and I started getting flashbacks of that triangle. Remy as a thug was entertaining. That was funny when Tammy grabbed his ass and they panned to Reva cringing.

Dinah's "Tell that to the crustaceans" line was funny. Towards the end, though I wasn't liking the direction. It became all about Reva & Josh. For the past few months, the writers have been working hard to help people understand and maybe accept the Josh/Cassie pairing and now we get all this Jeva stuff in the end. Umm..who are we supposed to root for? Personally, it grated on my nerves how Reva was lecturing Josh when she knew fully well that she's made the same mistakes. Josh telling Reva that he wasn't sure if he had a midlife crisis was a great shoutout to the story from last year.

I noticed that Beth, Lillian, & Mel weren't on but overall, I liked it. Even with the role reversals, there was still a focus on character and subtle mentions of history. There was a lot of focus on the lighthouse. With a show called "Guiding Light", it's only fitting.
