September 4, 200619 yr Member This is sooo sad - I hate it when TV icons (he was an icon) dies. He really always tested the boundaries though - and I just knew this would happen to him one day. My thoughts are with his wife and kid.
September 4, 200619 yr Member That's really, really shocking and terrible news. It just hurts to know that someone who seemed so friendly and positive is now gone. He died doing what he enjoyed, I suppose. RIP.

September 4, 200619 yr Author Member I went to Australia Zoo last year and I was lucky to have Steve do the show. My photos are not that good cuz of the distance. I have to check out the video that I took that day.
September 4, 200619 yr Member Oh my god! I thought it was a joke. I never imagined ... I mean, yeah, he works with dangerous creatures, as do many other people. I'm surprised nothing more serious happens. This is so sad. My thoughts go out to his wife, and his son. Did he have any other kids? So sad

September 4, 200619 yr Member this is so sad. Im watchign GMA and they said his wife was last known hiking in Tanzania and still hasnt been informed of her husband's death
September 4, 200619 yr Member I read it this morning. Of all creatures that could have killed him over the years, it ended with a stingray! Some thought he was crazy and made fun of him because of his enthusiasm, I never thought of him that way. I always watched his shows on Animal Planet and for me it wasn't hard to feel the love he had for animals. This is such sad news about a true hero who dedicated his life saving and protecting all kinds of wild animals. His wife Terri and two small children are in my thoughts. Here's an interview that took place a few months before his death. R.I.P Steve
