I liked Christie Clark in the 90s, but I was also younger then, my memories may be a little too idealized, you know what I mean? I'm remembering what I want to instead of what actually was there? All I know is that I think she's been awful since coming back. Sad but true.

The reason people are making allowances for Jack and Jen I think is because MR is leaving no matter what and there is a certain decency to finally giving them a happy ending after all of Jack's deaths and exits. It just makes sense if there is no getting Missy back. Nobody can really blame the show for that one IMHO. On the other hand they're also great actors who have held the audience's interest for a number of years. A&C, not so much.

Drew is right and, even though I love them and thought they were hot, Carrie's affair really did ruin her a bit. Not to me but to many fans. I think both characters need a rest because JER's story put them in a corner and there really isn't anywhere to go for them right now. Maybe after a little rest they can bring them back or bring one of them and go in some new directions but right now they have to be together after all this and there is nowhere to go. I warned this would happen and always knew deep done. I honestly would be more upset about Koslow or Pinson because I feel they aren't played out and have many directions to go in.

King, you're just mad because no one is agreeing with you. I'm sorry, but we are all being realistic here. Everyone was so excited for Austin and Carrie's return. They returned, did absolutley nothing, and it's time for them to say goodbye. End of story.

Um, wrong. Unless you've been living under a rock, I've been loving A/C for months.

And if you think I am the only person upset over A/C being fired, then you guys have another thing coming.

I'm not living under such a thing. I'm living under, apparently, the same thing every other DAYS fan on here is living. We see that that Austin and Carrie are played out and we understand the firing of them both. You should realize that too.

I'm seriously going to doubt that DAYS is going to lose viewership because Austin and Carrie are leaving. DAYS survived 5 years without them, we can do more.

Well, KR, in my blog I started in May I managed to get a hold of Carrie and Austin at the right time when I started so I was able to get them in a different direction to tell stories. Blogs are different because we aren't making budget cuts

As for my point you claimed was delusional, I never said it would counter there loss but it is refreshing and all 3 of those characters you mentioned are very popular already. I never said they make up for anyone but they are well-liked and I know many enjoy watching them.

Who's next, Bo and Hope?

As much as I don't like Carrie and Austin, I think this is a bad move. They are two core characters that are tied to core families. They could move away from the Sami/Lucas storyline and have their own storyline. Backburner them for a while and start fresh. Or give them a month off and then have them come back. There are other people that need to leave before them *coughLockhartscough*.

Wrong move and so much potential wasted here.

Not everyone has a Neilsen box. Do ANY of us have those? Does ANY of us tuning in or out do a G.D. thing? No. But it's never good to lose fans.

A/C do have tons of potential left. They're played out? Ummm, she's only been back seven months. As I said, we all have found creative ways to keep A/C front and center. Saying that there is a difference between fan fic and the show has nothing to do with that.

They should have found other ways to cut costs and keep them on. This is a HUGE mistake. If the show was in an amazing place, IT WOULD BE ANOTHER STORY! It's NOT. It's not bad, it's consistently good, but it's not in a place to be making these ballsy moves. It's not #1.

You are absolutely right. Both you and King started writing when Carrie and Austin were still good. Take it from me, someone who just started writing for the show, the characters are shot. I have no direction for them and the one that I do have is not the best and I'm just testing it to see how the viewers like it. I have no long-term committment to the storyline.

Exactly and they survived without J&J too. Days will be fine. No one is doubting others are upset but I just don't see this destroying Days. None of the cuts made so far are going to kill Days.

It sucks they are leaving but it is a logical choice IMO. If they are played out, they are played out.

Austin and Carrie are just totally yukky to me. I feel sorry for Christie and Austin having to portray them. Dreadful story. I hope something can be written to give them a little more for the fans to remember them by than ugly things.

Those who love them, I feel for you. I'm sick over this Hope/Patrick mess and have decided to start FF through it. It's as lamebrain as what Austin and Carrie were given.

I don't see what potential they have. Is Austin going to be involved in lots of corporate intrigue? Do I really want to watch Austin Peck in a suit giving a speech about stock?

And yes, my excitement for Hoagie HAS gone down. Now, I know my favorite couple isn't going to be there for it. What good is the excitement now?

    • So Pam didn't create her? I thought she had the whole of 87-88. I'll look around, thanks for the point in the right direction.

date: Tuesday, November 18, 2025 | Jamey Giddens, Danielle Paige | Steven Williford Samantha, accept the fact you were in the wrong and do not deserve your digital devices. Do not like it? Go upstairs. Read a book. Do some knitting. Bradley and Martin's "we get it" to Tyrell was hilarious and absolutely a parent's thing to do. Loving a bit of history of both the Duprees (via Eva) and the Hawthrones (via Izaiah). So cute. Poor June. I am sure she did not purposefully mean to mess up; we have all been there working in customer service. Shake it off and keep on keeping on! Not twice a week for Vernon's cobbler order... Sharon must be using that as payment for their meetings. I appreciate that Ted still cares about the Duprees despite the end of his marriage to Nicole. Not Dana using Peaches' crisis as a way of taking Ted's attention away from a co-worker. Girl, do not be so obvious. Bradley is a man after my own heart with a simply divine chocolate milkshake. That is the way to go. Dana really needs to dial it back. Money will not buy her everything she wants and she will realise it soon enough. And I doubt Shanice is scared off by her idle threats, either. "With all due respect, Ms Thomas, this isn't a shopping mall." Oh, Dr Wilkes just owned Dana's arrogant ass. I love it. Wigs and personas? Okay now, Shanice ate with that read. I like that June assured Bradley that she will not replace him or Martin in the twins' lives. And that blood does not make a parent. Words never rang more true. Jessica reading Samantha was amazing. Dana would want to involve Ted. Her obsession is crossing beyond dangerous boundaries. Not Dana catching Vernon leaving Sharon's room at the country club. That is not good. Not good at all! Notes: Ugh. Not another breakdown from writer2. This week was going so well. Thankfully, Paige is an outstanding scriptwriter (one of this soap's best), and her words today are excellent. The food at Orphey Gene's does look bomb, so I do not blame any of the characters for uptalking it. I would eat there daily if I could. And gain hundreds of pounds, too. David Lami Friebe (Izaiah) continues to make me sick watching him, but he is nice to listen to. I still really like having June as the central person hub at Orphey Gene's. That familiar face you see when you walk in and have scenes. Dana wanting a second opinion means we could have an incoming doctor, right...?

    • I am sure "no one cares" and it's not a big deal to some people, but this thread is full of certain posters calling out women's ages, their viability to have children at like 35, and their nail polish, but we celebrate everything Chandler Massey does and applaud any male shirtless scenes.  And then posters walk back being like it's just a joke and weren't serious lol.
    • I'm so glad she's still on the show. Seems like she may have dropped a hint about the real source of conflict between her and Dee, too.
    • I don't know how reliable the information is, but from what I've read, he joined GH in 1977, and Alan (who started airing in September 1977) was one of his creations. That should have been enough time to get the show in better shape by the January 1978 episode we saw, but then again, shifting from a 30 minute to a 60 minute format is a big transition, one that requires a lot of filler scenes like Monica having a long flashback to a scene that must have only played out a few weeks earlier.
    • I agree. She said, "I do," and then decided, "I don't." I wish Nikki Abbott had been a longer duration. I wholly prefer Nikki with Jack than I ever have with Victor, and today's episode proved that. And I never minded Ashley with Victor.
    • That one really bothered me. The chemistry was still very much there and then she married Jack and immediately ran off to find Victor. It was such a slap in the face to anyone that was a fan of the pairing.
