Honestly, I don't see where all this OLTL hatred is coming from. Yes, there are a lot of things wrong with the show structurally-- misuse of vets, mistreatment of characters and over focus. But IMO the show is still watchable and somewhat entertaining. I expected much worst from Dena. She couldn't make anything salvagable on DAYS. Yet, I want to watch everyday and there is incentive too. The storylines are interesting and actually have continuity and form. This is what Malone didn't have, IMO. He's 10x the better writer than Dena, but his last months had storylines changing at the drop of a dime and the whole show suffering from it.

Rex and Adriana's story was great. Their summer on the beach has turned into a classic soap mystery that involves super couples. The horror feel was tacky but it was still interesting IMO.

And Marcie's baby storyline (though really it should be on a little more) was also good.

Again, these are really amateur storylines for a soap of superior morale quality as OLTL, but with these cheesy stories there is at least a reason to watch. If there wasn't OLTL would be in the pits as it was when Malone was headed out a few years back.

I'd hardly call Marcie and Tommy a story. She's on what 4 days a month? That's not a story that you tune in for every day. Also I feel like she's reading from Kelly's baby obsessed scripts. Sorry but I'm not buying into Marcie as the all of married for 3 months flipping out over a baby at this point.

Rex and Adrianna for me are yet another failed couple. Rex is bland and boring and a shell of his former self. Adrianna is written to have the IQ of a board. The revelation of Bruce the Park Avenue attorny paid by Dorian to stalk Adrianna seems beyond contrived. Why would a wealthy attorney with residences in multiple places do that for money? What's the connection to Dorian and Adrianna? So no I don't buy this as a super couple, I buy it as a super flop.

I found the Love Crew with all their stereotypes and the the bones mystery much more interesting and much greater of a reason to watch than Adrianna and Rex.

I haven't watched at all this summer. Has it gotten better? The Rex and Adriana story looked interesting, but I didn't watch OLTL this summer.

I like that the best praise someone can drudge up for this show is "Not that bad!".

I agree. It's a good show. I really don't have a lot of complaints about it. I like the stalker storyline, even tho I hated who the stalker really turns out to be. Marcie's storyline with Tommy should be on a lot more. Everything else, minus John and Natalie and his father's dead storyline I'm OK with.

I guess I could like the Rex/Adriana/stalker storyline... if I liked Adriana, they have made her unlikable to me in the beginning of it. So, I can care less about these two.

As for Marcie and Tommy, while I love Marcie... this thing that they are doing to her is barely a storyline. She basically given one day a week, and two if something tragic happens (like when she gave Tommy to CPS). They are barely doing anything with that, and if that's their intention until all the secrets are out... then fine, but in the mean time, they could show her in other storylines like with Lindsay, in the so called Lindsay/RJ/Nora triangle (which is also barely given any time).

Rex & Adrianna are a good couple, they have good chemistry. In no way is Rex now boring.

The Marcie storyline is ok, but I'm kinda sick of Marcie and glad she's only on the amount of time she is now.

I like Rex but that story is so very bad. I don't care at all about Rex posing as the stalker or whatever and them wandering on a beach. It's made them both (Rex and Adrianna)so boring and annoying. What a lame story.

For me, it's just an issue that my favorite character on the show (and one of my favorite characters in daytime), Margaret, was killed just to prop Spencer. I'll never forgive Dena for doing that. And if killing Margaret wasn't bad enough, the screentime that he and John get provides less time for Lindsay, Nora, RJ, etc...who people actually want to see.

I hate the Marcie storyline because Marcie is so annoying. She used to be one of my favorite characters until Dena came and made her an animated and unreal character who spazzes out at every little thing.

OLTL seriously needs to just get done with this stalker stuff and have Adrianna fall off a cliff! I really hate her storyline and they need to get some new ones.
