It’s a yes and no for me. I slightly disagree, because that was always the intent to make Bianca the new lead. The mistake with that, is Erica isn’t just a supporting Matriarch type. I mean, She’s no Ruth Martin. She needs to drive her own storylines as well! The best part of Umbrella stories, is that they branch out into new storylines, and they just didn’t do that enough with the Bianca storylines. They could have though!! The problem I had with Eden, is that she constantly kept leaving. I’m sure that makes it hard to play out good family storylines, with the supposed moral compass not committing to long contracts, but I could be wrong. I would join your train of controversy, and add a unpopular opinion. That I’m probably the only one on this board, who enjoyed Pratt’s year at AMC and largely what he TRIED to do with the Kane’s. I felt he had the right idea, and could have done wonders if he was partnered with a vet who knew the shows history. Around that time, I had written my own fanfic of Erica on a mission to rebuild that town, after the tornadoes and become the new founder if you will.

@skin and @Lust4Life76 You guys spoke nothing both the gospel truth regarding Erica. Finally people see it the way i always have. I don't even think i can add much to the conversation because it was summed up nicely. I would agree about Erica getting the edge in her rivalry with Brooke, and with anyone else for that matter, she was written to win. The 90s writers didn't understand that Brooke and Erica feed off each other in a very unique way. By letting Brooke win SOMETIME would only mean Erica comes roaring back even harder! Susan said something very interesting, during the show's Hallmark reunion special. She said that she felt Agnes never finish telling her Addiction story with the Kane family, I agree because i kinda felt a some point, Erica needed to resort back into drinking or have some rock bottom moment to finally bring her Full circle.

@Taoboi That’s really great news to hear about Sutton. She was a delight to watch, and a major reason why I enjoyed season 10. It’s so funny how things change too. Erika was easily a favorite of mine, I never though in a million years I would be rooting for her to get dragged LMAO! As for Latoya, I’m not sure it’s wise to lose her. She was the match that got the ball rolling for me. I enjoyed her as Kenya 2.0.

@skin Agreed! We see eye to eye on this! So much wasted potential just like every other character on that canvas their last decade. Regardless, I am excited for his soap return. Not sure if I’m ready to see Rebecca back on my screen.

@OzFrog you ain’t the only one I been all over that channel lately. I like the actress who played the crazy nutcase Nina . She was hysterical! Yes, I understand, she wasn’t Taylor Miller! but I enjoyed her pulling out guns at weddings and such. La Kane was always written to win. Major problem I always had with the character. I chuckled anytime you read Brooke though, i could have written far better comebacks for Brooke against Erica. love me some Barbara, but that Natalie fascinated me the most. She was so complex, had chemistry with any men walking. Ross and Natalie had super couple potential. I enjoyed watching them sneak around more than Brooke/Adam courtship and Erica/Travis too! We would have completely different show if I was writing it.

Cameron knows how to stay employed LOL. Good for him! I’m looking forward to him acting again. I agree on his B-list leading man quality. I will hold my judgment until he airs. I personally don’t consistently watch any of the remaining soaps, so I would hope it’s something good to hook me back in. Ryan was a decent character imo. yes, he was a frons pet but I enjoyed him anytime he was away from Greenpea. All his other pairings had potential Liza, Kendall, Annie, and Madison. I was always intrigued on his Quest to become the next Adam Chandler and being Erica’s surrogate son. If they kept writing to that I could have seen him become a beloved character.

I like Hunter on Amc. She was so pretty too, she looked completely different by the time she joined B&B.

ATLANTA Best dress at the reunion are Porsha, Kenya and Latoya. I just might like Latoya look the most, she stands out from the rest. It looks like Kandi mixed together two different themes together, it’s a No for me. I’m disappointed in Shamea’s hair. Marlo looks so cheap. Drew forgettable as usual!

Okay, I agree with that. @Jonathan I didn’t expect to hear much about the pilot for some reason, so I’m not surprised. It’s for best to keep things quiet right now. @Pine Charles you’re fine. LOL

The highlighted part is what stick out the most. When I read up on her, Erica is who I thought of and who I probably would have fashion her after. I Questioned who and where is her birth father? Her relationship with her mom is very similar to Mona/Erica. Well I don’t think a new Erica necessarily have to come from humble beginnings I.E. greenlee. I would argue she did come from humble beginnings, yea her parents had money but most rich black folks in the 90s were new money. She also had her time being a have not and whatnot with Noah, that’s when I would have placed her at enchantment and let the story write itself. @EricMontreal22 I was bothered by the fact that he, focused on the same couple storylines that everybody else has: Erica’s abortion, Bianca coming out, the war etc. I would like for someone to really go into detail about All the things she tackled like the Paul/Anne/Beth storyline and her death, Michael Delaney coming out (which was a true umbrella storyline), Janet’s journey in PV, Taylor/Terrence deconstruction storyline, injecting comedy into soap opera and becoming the first dramedy, Angie’s sexual harassment, all the other career driven females on all her shows, being the first to do twins, being the first to go on location, etc. I wanted it all highlighted at once. I guess I’m acting like a brat.

@Skin. Accurate. I always felt that was a major mistake. Whether or not they were the right characters chosen, it’s never good to shove them down our throats. Every character and/or storyline should always be on rotation. They never gotten major attraction storylines to me. C at best.

Yea, he was in the middle. I just don’t understand how I just came up with five storylines for him, and the people who get paid to do it can’t? It’s very telling when you’re the good guy and I don’t root for you in your feuds. Tad also had the wrong profession imo.

Amc Brooke and Erica. Atwt Barbara and Lucinda. @skin you hit the nail on the head with greens and Kendall. I agree with all this even though I believe Alicia grown tremendously by the end of her run. She just was never given the chances to showcase her talent. Both could have still been soap superstars with the write writing, Amc failed their next generation imo. They didn’t need to be friends though, they became in laws that’s all you need to ground their feud. I’ll take family drama over those forced romances anyday. Idk about this one, I always felt they were forcing Rebecca/Greenlee to be the clear lead, aka the new Erica. They didn’t seem to want Erica’s girls to replace her. It was a mistake imo, she didn’t cut it for me, always needed to be in B/C storylines.

AMC Tad Martin: I don’t remember liking anything with him after his cheating with Liza. They seemed to like constantly playing up the Tad the cad crap, which I was over. He had two potential romances with Simone and Cara I liked. I also liked the short storyline with Damon, too! Jesse Hubbard: I don’t think the writers knew what to do with him after his initial return storyline. They didn’t understand his character, and his importance to the genre and the show. I was highly disappointed in the way he was being written, he had plenty questionable moments. Darnell garnered the show its first Leading male Emmy I expected more for him.

That YouTube channel just dropped another Brooke/Erica video. This one is much better IMO.
