  1. @FrenchBug82I think it’s reasonable of you to only want to take the chances of recasting Legacy characters. Believe me I get it! That just wasn’t the case for AMC, sadly most of the legacy characters are the ones in need of the most character repair. Leo and Gillian were very unique characters for this show, popular and got more story play than Brooke kids, Angie and Jesse kids, etc. They had enough ties to the show, Gillian was Andrassy and was mixing it up with the martins, Leo was being rumored to be Erica’s baby brother. they were all set to be future leads of this show, I bet my next paycheck if Gillian hadn’t left she and Greenlee would have become Erica/Brooke 2.0. I definitely agree with the statement that Greenlee only worked because of Josh, Sabine wasn’t given enough time to prove herself and came on during one of the worst years for the show. I honestly like her portrayal she was soulful, sympathetic and had chemistry with people Rebecca didn’t.
  2. I enjoyed that McKinsey interview immensely, and the stories about Ruth are hilarious. Was she like the original Lucci?
  3. I can not wait for March 1st
  4. My thoughts exactly, it really worked for me as well. It was almost a perfect return, she was mixing up with new characters, she grown a bit of a backbone, her reunion with tad wasn’t being rushed, and the show wasn’t that dark because Janet was pulling her shenanigans all over town at the same time. Let me see if I can find the Marci Gras ball to rewatch.
  5. I definitely felt the same way and agree with you, but guess what, I still would have recast him LBVS. The endless killings of popular characters contributed to the wheels falling off AMC, going far back as to Jenny’s death. If I was the EP of this show Leo and Gillian would have new faces, you guys said it yourself Greenlee and Ryan wasn’t the same after these huge losses. These characters wasn’t day player’s they were being groomed to lead! I wish more Writers were like Bill Bell, he wasn’t afraid to recast or get rid of entire families regardless of the circumstances and their popularity. He recast both Terry Lester and Brenda Dickson at the height of their popularity. The audience eventually accepted the new actors in the roles, and today can’t think of anyone else playing them. In situations like this one, story and the health of the show should come first. Eden Rigel is another I would’ve had to recast but that’s a different thread.
  6. Oh wow I adored her 2006 return at least the first half of it. Yea the motivations wasn’t clear, but it opened up the opportunity to give her character some much needed layers and become much more complex something Cady and us fans wanted for a long time. I didn’t hate Project Orpheus either, it correcting a lot of show’s problems. Dixie was set to return even before it was announced the show was cancelled. I thought her as a ghost taunting Adam was cool too!
  7. I felt the same way about Michael Nader’s voice. How come? Yes he was Uber popular but also a uber new to the show aka newbie.
  8. I had a problem with all these storylines. I loved Cecily/Nico but I noticed a trend with Agnes young couples one or both eventually leaves and it’s because she plays them too lighthearted. Actors wanna play the controversial/gritty stuff which a lot of her couples lack imo. And the couples that get the real soapy stuff she goes in the opposite direction I.e. Ross chandler and Natalie. Jack was too much of a blank canvas and that’s why he never worked with Erica imo. They needed to play up him being the black sheep and change his profession. And I wish he was more mean to Erica and ignored her. Cliff/Angie: ummm.... I don’t think they needed Nina for this one. I felt like it was high time for them to go separate ways and choose other people. I don’t think TPTB was invested enough because of how quickly it was dropped. I personally wished they brought in some family for cliff who disapproves of Angie and make it more office affair and bring their co workers into the mix, wasn’t Jeff Martin falling for Angie right before Debbi quit? Angie was a single mom they could’ve made her a mini Erica Kane stopping at nothing to reach her career goals and feed her child. And maybe even a little Jaded for losing her true love. TBH I find Jeremy to be a very boring character but he was decent in his triangle with Erica and Natalie. I just thought it was kinda out of character for Erica to be advocating for her own sister to date her ex lover. What if Noelle was secretly falling for Travis and it went all the way to her giving him the baby boy Erica always wanted. And her cheating on Travis with Jack only for her Niece Julie to steal him right from under her. I wanted a couple of years of Erica being the loser and have to act from her jealousy and desperation, imagine everybody around her succeeding in their careers and love life while her’s isn’t going nowhere?! That’s an Erica Kane I want to see. Erica could have benefited from having family rivalries around long term, Kendal could have Been brought in later. This. I love all of this. Any good writer could have made silver work long term there was plenty of openings. They just didn’t give it a real try imo.
  9. I personally felt that storyline needed to be given to Dixie. That Brooke/Adam/Dixie storyline came at the right time, it was time for a changing of the guard with characters and the mood and vibe of the show was much more serious too. I wish it could’ve lasted longer. This is very accurate. I never understand when this happens to shows and it happens a lot in television.
  10. Grasp! That’s a first I heard someone say that. Dimitri checked all the boxes for me, yes to each their own. I agreed with everything you said about Jerry Douglas. He was amazing and understated as John Abbott I miss that character so much. I been rewatching early 90s AMC too. That was a good time to be watching but I see so many missed storyline opportunities. I’m sad how things ended for Dimitri and Edmund, the Wildwind brothers should have been leading story way into the show’s final years. We’re approaching the 30th anniversary of the Natalie in the well storyline and Dimitri’s introduction by the way. Yea if they kept him as Hayley’s sole male figure instead of attaching her to Adam I would have found him more endearing. Natalie was such a special character to me, and very complex. I don’t think you could pair her with just anybody, her great love to me was Ross Chandler before he raped her. I like not love Jackson(AMC) I enjoyed him as a secondary character, he’s definitely not a lead. That is a reason i love soaps it’s so many people on the canvas it doesn’t matter which ones I don’t like. It’s something for everybody!
  11. Probably both LOL. I was never a fan of either the character or the actor. I just never got his appeal or his pairing with Natalie, who would choose him over Dimitri? No one! I did think Haley worked best in his orbit and with his children though.
  12. Guys what year/era/ storyline would you recommend to a potential new fan and get them hooked? I’m asking for a friend, thanks in advance.
  13. Y&R: John Abbott GH: AJ Quatermaine OLTL: Nash Brennan, Jared Banks. AMC: Too many to name. Dixie, Natalie, Jesse, Leo, Vanessa, Simone, Gillian, Jenny, Josh, Ritchie, etc. The Pine Valley deaths owns this thread to me Periodt. I can’t think of one death that wasn’t a mistake, pointless or didn’t robbed the show many years of storylines. Not one! Yes killing off characters like Laura Cudahy and Will Cortlandt produced great big moments for the show but wasn’t worth it in the end. I believe they realize this with Laura which is why they had Brooke adopt another girl with the same damn name LOL. Will on the other hand was untapped potential and I would have preferred him to live and be the resident bad boy for another decade. Maybe he could’ve been the one to rape Bianca.
  14. AMC so damn iconic they can now add the first set of twins in daytime history (swoon). He finally did a decent interview for AMC bravo! I enjoyed watching both actresses go down memory lane. Jennifer is a hoot Periodt, I just love her. That was so sweet of Francesca to come back on a mission to get those emmy’s for best show and Susie. I agree she’s sharp as a tack definitely needs a book, workshop etc. did anybody else clutch their pearls when she mentioned Julie Harris? I did lmao.
  15. It’s so riveting and very soapy. I’m on episode 5 and mad it took me this long to watch it. I didn’t like Kerry’s performance in the beginning I relate more to her now.
  16. I think it’s still on YouTube under a private account.
  17. I usually don’t like his AMC reunions but I’m looking forward to this one. Jennifer is a great storyteller and loves to spill tea. And I’m sure Francesca has some great stories to tell of her own. The Kitty/Kelly saga was a big hit with the fans it’s a story I’m not that familiar with so I’m eager to here more about that and her backstage experience.
  18. Agreed! The 90s was a incredible time to grow up in.
  19. Agreed! Erica is much needed for this revival. I hope the show does well by any veteran character that decides to join the cast. The Hubbards have been the heart of the show since 2008, I always looked at them as extended family to the Martins so it makes sense. I always what you said about Brooke it was all so wonderful to see her in that light again. you know I absolutely agree with you about Erica. You’re right!!! I’m going into this show with clear eyes but I will need more returns than the Santos family, I never connected with them. I disagree about Anton being Chief of staff that’s Angie’s role.
