GH: Fan Fave Fired. Actress Blindsided
Perhaps it seems that way, here, because I've only posted in this one narrow topic/thread. Elsewhere I have posted a great deal of positive content, from reassurances about things going on, to clips of DIRTY SOAP, clips of PC/Livvie who I very much enjoyed even loved, DWTS clips. Plus, I'm not a Frank apologist, rather I am a vocal critic. I have a long list. But, it's true that some of Kelly's fans are currently driving me a little bit crazy & I yearn for the time when this will be done & gone.

I don't judge all as one. That's why I say things like some fans or specifically fans who act a certain way. So I am lucky because I do not fall into that disservice gap. The differences are so obvious as to be glaring. There are crazies almost anywhere. No one person has a lock on telling idiots from more regular fans. Not sure why you would even put it that way. But, if it's meant as a challenge, that's one I mastered long ago.

To be fair, by the time they FINALLY got to Frank, most people were no longer clapping. He could've clapped his fool head off & we would not have seen it. That said, I have no investment in who clapped or didn't. To me that in itself is petty. Kelly's words were the important part, to me at least.

I must ask you, are you around any of her fans very much? Their behavior online makes it hard to feel anything for them & that is on them. So many fans are finding ways to express their displeasure with these fans. It's a sorry sight & I cannot wait for it to die down. Their latest kick is since Sam died for Lulu that they are going to do the best they can to sabotage the return of Lulu. Gee, how uplifting.

Chris, you are so right. It's very confusing. On the one hand, some fans say what terrible treatment. On the other hand, some fans say they want her back in that same spot. This, to me, is a giant contradiction. I'm trying not to judge Frank. Also not judging Kelly. But these fans, some of them, OY. They are just a lot. A lot to take, I mean. John, Shelly Curtis & Wendy Riche are definitely gold standard. But, like me, getting up there in age. One thing I find interesting about some Sam/Kelly fans, is that before she leaked the news of her firing, we saw very little fan engagement about Sam McCall or even about Sante.

This just strikes me as hilarious. If we have an Early Warning for the Red Swan shouldn't we also warn about the Egyptian dust in Arizona or whatever the heck that story was?!!! I never in a million years envisioned Frankie with anyone but Cass except maybe Joe. Ryan is a whole new concept.

Oh, if so I completely disagree about whatever was said about dreariness. Apparently if you say Steve & Alice to me I have a knee-jerk reaction!! I found one of my lists of AW Christmases where I have the full episodes. 1982 1983 1984 12-24-85 12-25-85 1986 1987 1990 1991 1993 1994 1995 1996 1997 I also have some AW Christmases clipped but they're on a different list.

That is the first story I have memory of seeing. I read he got so much negative mail about it and as you've indicated had regret, etc. I could be wrong. If so, thanks.

Okay, perspective. The highest Nielsen rating I have ever seen listed was a 16.5 for SEARCH FOR TOMORROW back when daytime was the golden goose paying for primetime to experiment.

She is incredibly wise. And, she not only understands Victoria but also Miss Donna & even Michael. Later on of course she has insight into both Jamie and more importantly Ryan.

And, this makes it clear why I was furious when Jill Farren Phelps fired Barbara Berjer for being too old.

I agree, totally. And, I'm laughing because you sound exactly like Bill Bell & Susan Flannery BITD. I happen to believe they knew what they were speaking of.

I love Vicky & Bridget scenes! I've curated 2 Anne Heche YouTube lists & one is all her & Bridget. I've got a SON poster who has previously attacked me on 2 other sites & today they did so on Bluesky. They had no followers & were following no one & had made only 2 posts, the posts attacking me. I'm not going to name them because I don't want to give them that much attention. If anyone wants to know, PM me. I'm posting this here because I consider this home. And, there is one thing about it that I don't like one bit. They've escalated. Their last line was to the Parkinsons god to do just one job for them. Since they know I have Parkinsons their meaning was clear. They're praying for my death. This to me takes it beyond nuisance to evil.

She was so against it. Pete started it & thought he wanted it & then regretted it after they went to an hour & fought against going to 90 minutes & ultimately quit over it. Agnes told Pete he was crazy & that she'd never do it. ABC offered her studio space, which was coveted & help on money for more actors & she let herself be persuaded. Bill Bell was just as against it as Labine was & CBS said they were going to do it with him or without him so he could pick. So Pete got in via ignorance & with Agnes they used the carrot & with Bell they used the stick. The change was more beneficial to the network than the show so they were seriously motivated. Susan Flannery left DAYS over it. She was that against it.

Going by what I read in the Michael J. Maloney (sp?) book, Bell was absolutely sure he made the right choice when he did that. You may very well know that. Disagreeing with the gods of the business is of course allowed. Which leads me to one thing I did not think to post earlier. I disagree with Pete Lemay on one thing but I disagree so strongly & that is the firing of Jacqueline Courtney who was the original Alice Matthews Frame. He so strongly disliked her acting style that he considered that she could not act. Pete won't be considered as belonging in this group except by AW fans but to many of us he is that important to ANOTHER WORLD.

I can't say enough good about Stephen Schnetzer!!! And, Cass was such a resilient character. You think so? I could be wrong.

Since we know that she threw a week of show out I have always wondered why she didn't repeat that & toss the rape & have some other path to the love story be written & taped. It makes NO sense to me. If I could be granted the capacity to ask one dead person one question, I think this would be my choice.

Oh, yeah, the writing definitely had it out for them. I would suspect that about half of Cass fans go with one & half with the other. From a competition perspective, they'd have to be called well-matched. I'm quite furious the new Digest special edition "50 greatest couples" does not list Steve & Alice at all. I am possibly a bit weird about Miss Lila because I really & truly thought she was perfectly suited to Matt. Have you thought about the fact that Baby Jasmine is now in her mid-twenties? Thanks for playing my RATE CASS's Ladies game. They should have! I swear they wrote him so boring. Just an attorney, period. What a waste!!!

I don't think there was anything implied one way or the other. There wasn't any dialogue, I don't believe, about his private life at all.

On DAYS as HW Bill Bell had Bill Horton rape Laura Spencer (or Horton) & then had her be in love with her rapist, marry him & have a second child with him. He commented that the original sex was consensual at one point. As noted & known for being a genius Irna Phillips was equally well known for being a tyrant. There were times when she had actors fired for absurd reasons. Agnes Nixon removed Douglas Marland's co-creator credit off of LOVING. No matter what happened he was a bonafide co-creator who deserved that credit. Douglas Marland wrote this credo on How Not To Ruin a Soap that was only found after his death, when nothing is known about its context & which he did not even follow himself. Gloria Monty also well-known to be a tyrant, refused to nominate Jane Elliot for the Emmy she won when a secretary helped Jane nominate herself. Indirectly Monty caused the genre to move from character-based writing to plot or action-based writing.

It was pointed out to me, correctly, that Michael did not go to Jason to talk about his marriage. Instead they found themselves at the same bar & naturally began to talk. So, that made me think, how often do we see Jason in a bar, these days I mean, not like BITD when he could be counted on to be at Jake's anytime. Also, Michael is also not much of a frequenter of bars, either. So, I think these writers are incorrigible in that they will put just anything into place to facilitate some action they want to have happen. This made me think. Are they incorrigible in this way? Will they go to any lengths to get the desired action, logical or usual or typical or not?
