I'm very curious as to why you'd say this. At the time it seemed to us to be all about P&G with regard specifically to NBC. And, not at all about P&G and soaps. And, also that their relationship with CBS had not soured yet. Although we now know that was in their fairly near future.

Near the end P&G was courted by Angela Shapiro/ABC, Fox network, what became Paramount, what became Sony! Seems like there was a 5th, yes, what became Viacom. ABC & Fox wanted to air some version of the show. The other companies wanted different partnerships with P&G & to keep the show on the air. Amazingly P&G turned them all down.

ALL Soaps: Grade November Sweeps 2024
I only watch GH and DAYS. Both are frustrating to me, for different reasons. But, Sweeps, Nov. a grade? GH: I've said that the hospital soap is no longer a hospital soap, it's actually VERSUS. Sonny vs Ava - This was but is no longer. Ric vs Sonny - pretty much could rear its head any moment both are in Port Charles. Molly vs Kristina - definitely was so, then calmed down, but it's not clear that it's over in the Davis Women. Ric's daughter vs Sonny's daughter - This was but is no more. 5:48. Alexis vs what she now knows - Earlier this was Alexis versus what she doesn't know. Now, it's this. Michael vs both Willow & Drew - Definitely still in play. New, we have: Lucky vs. Cyrus. Lulu vs. what she doesn't know. James vs. Grown-ups. And so on. All these hot spots which flare up & are dealt with (or not). And, then on to the next crisis. There's no unified whole, no throughline, patched together, inelegant, surface, so I give them a B. There is no good reason they are not an A+ every time! But, they fall short, over & over. DAYS: I should give it an F but I don't have the heart for it. On the basis of the acting talent & other kinds of talent bts of specific people, and because I thoroughly enjoyed 3 episodes in that many weeks, I give them a C- with the notation that it's a terrible grade. The show looks & is cheap, terrible lighting, awful sets & not enough of them. Favoritism has wracked this show. Leo is an albatross around the show's neck yet he is played as if he's the darling of the circuit. "Body & Soul" a soap within a soap is almost universally despised & it is an A story.

[thud] Just learning Chad's MIA for the whole Doug Memorial?!!!! No. No, I think you're right in that their goal would always to be to completely hook another viewer, not just watch one episode. Both DAYS & Peacock. I've recently seen 2 different fan accounts of what happened when DAYS moved to Peacock. One, more than 2 million new subscribers, the other, almost 5 million new subscribers. They were both making a point about how glad Peacock was at that point to have DAYS & then they went on to opine that they are still happy with the show for various reasons. (Apparently the soap press reported 2 million within the first 3 months on the streamer.) They even have a term for people who subscribe for one show, on temporarily, and then drop. (Like me.)

I’ve been asking the same question since we found out. I think this is the BIG QUESTION about the show's planning. Why today? They've waited months. Next week is gonna be the big send-off. Why not wait till then? I confess I am perplexed. Also, I've been thinking, both Thomas & Charlotte are gonna need intensive therapy. So many adults order them around, what can they be thinking?!!! And, about Missy, respectfully, agree to disagree.

It's not that. This applies to both Laura & to Becky, who both to me look so much prettier with their hair natural, which for them is quite curly. Becky, most of the time, looks like she's got "helmet hair". At least that's not a problem with Laura. Anyway, the thing about continuity is naturally curly hair doesn't "match" from scene to scene & that's the hair they're splitting. Frank's dam*ed way of taping causes continuity to be more important at GH than other places. Thanks again, Frank!

Well, a good day overall, which I am heartily grateful for, since today is a day to be reminded of gratitude. Of course, the day was terribly marred for me by the blight on my screen that is Missy Reeves, who also is so out of the habit of acting that at least half of her line readings seemed off to me. But, at least that was not a surprise. I was prepared for it. As for me, please can we just have Cady back? Soon? My forever favorite, SSH, shone throughout the episode as Julie, matriarch of Horton House, keeper of history & legacy. She was amusing trying to talk to Chad about her dislike of the presence of that imposter. She, Cat, was of course, out front, in the living room, on the phone, with her obnoxious brother, Mark, when Jack & Jenn arrived from Boston. Jenn got in a good SLAP. Cat tried to apologize, if you can even imagine that. Clyde called & Chad & JJ & Gabi now have to go immediately. Personally, I think Chad's plan is half cock-eyed but what else is new in Salem? Exactly how is Gabi supposed to impersonate a dead Abigail?!! BTW, I was glad we saw Gabi talking to Adriana, good mention. Now, to the ending, the part that is so hard. Jack trying to wake Doug from a nap, discovers to his dismay that our Doug is gone. He goes to Julie & all he can do is stammer, Oh, no, Julie, I'm so so sorry. The show ends as Julie shrieks NO & drops the candleholder.

I was told that the reason they straighten everyone's hair, generally speaking, is because of continuity. It's apparently much harder to match shots that are going to be edited together, if naturally curly hair is in play. I laughed & laughed at this idea, although I kinda hate it! I'm not sure whether to credit this as a real thing or an urban myth or an old wives' tale, so, take it with several grains of salt. And, I can't go by who told me because they were just another soap fan, no one in particular, except to their own family & friends. And, looking at the clock, Happy Thanksgiving!
