  1. Alexis meeting with Jason and Drew over custody of the kids was good stuff. The tension between the twins is fascinating. I’m team Jason but the way Alexis dressed them both down then tried to goad Drew into giving her custody at the end was smooth manipulation. Poor Dante is so lost. I’m hoping this custody story ends with him keeping the kids all together. Kristina considering going to work for Sonny was interesting. If they start pivoting her into the mob world after all of the death and trauma I’d be here for it. I liked her scenes with Joss at Bobbie’s but now that she’s acknowledged the good Joss did for her after the nasty fall, I need the show to circle back to Kristina’s bisexuality and have her make some moves on Dex to reignite the beef with Joss lol 🤷🏾‍♂️ 😂 cut all the happy shared family nonsense let these ladies tussle The Kai and Dex height difference was hilarious, I’m sorry. I continue to like Kai so far and its good to see the younger characters focused on themselves instead of their parents again. Hopefully Trina continues to soften up on him more after this episode because the constant attitude is getting stale. TJ and Jordan scenes were just okay, same with Michael and Sasha. TJ should be allowed to give Kristina and Ava more hell and same with Michael so far when it comes to Drew and Willow. No Lulu today was a disappointment and so was her not being in the previews for Friday. Way to kill momentum.
  2. I don’t want to downplay KeMo being brought on because of her own well deserved popularity from Port Charles, theres a reason all of the soaps were trying to snag her when the show was canceled. Yeah Guza and Pratt dusted off the Brenda story they had sitting in the drafts but her casting wasn’t just because they were desperate for a Brenda fill in like they were when hiring Lisa Vultaggio, etc.
  3. I always loved Amanda Beale’s AMC episodes but none of her work really stood out to me at YR. Kind of seems like they needed a salary dump.
  4. They’re handling this Lulu recast very well so far, its great to see Alexa Havins back in daytime. Ridiculousness of Lulu no longer being hooked up to any machines parked to the side, they were smart to showcase her Spencer fighting spirit so early by having her fake still being comatose to get Cyrus away and pull a Kill Bill by trying to get out of bed so fast. The recreated flashback was a good call as well, Alexa is already 1000x more interesting energy wise than ER ever was when I saw her take on the role. Yikes at Sam not updating her will and leaving the kids with Drew. Love the setup for more twin beef. Alexis and Molly’s scenes were good. Dante is the only person who makes Kristina and KM’s acting likable to me Danny and Jason talking about Sam reuniting with the baby she first lost was sweet and I liked Danny dragging Jason for fighting with Drew and Danny being distraught over how he treated Lucas. Danny’s actor once again did some decent work here. Loved Lucky and Liz today and them comforting Lucas was nice to see. Woof at Liz getting the blame for Sam’s death. I wasn’t expecting that pivot but gotta admit its a good one even if its obvious who is really responsible
  5. His acting through Sam’s death has been the worst of the lot but I still want him to stay because the Q’s need a real scoundrel in the family and theres still good meat on the bones with him and Jason beefing. What Mulcahey was doing with him had better long term prospects but they can still salvage things by playing the Willow affair out longer and having him and Nina get more serious When it comes to Alexis I wouldn’t mind her and Sonny having a real go round, chemistry wise NLG is MB’s best scene partner at the moment and the character has been through enough I can buy Alexis letting her guard down with Sonny right now.
  6. @All My Shadows @Vee Elder black folks loyalty to CBS down south is a real thing, when I first moved here and would stay at my Grandma’s we bonded over enjoying the soaps but she used to force me and my brother to watch the CBS line up even though I always preferred the ABC shows 🤦🏾‍♂️ 😂 I would try to flip from Y&R to AMC and she’d be ready to whoop my ass I noticed CBS affiliates tend to be the first channel number available in southern markets too and I think that plays a part as well. People turn the tv on and don’t bother channel surfing
  7. As messy as the departure has been BTS the show has done a really great job honoring Sam’s character with this death, today was a worthy funeral send off. I thought the speeches and flashback usages were excellent. Loved how they highlighted some of Carly and Elizabeth’s best fights with Sam onscreen while the characters got to talk about how their dynamics with her grew for the better. Spinelli’s speech was touching and playing a moment of Sam encouraging him when he and Maxie first got serious showcased the beauty of that dynamic. I thought Danny’s actor actually really did well with his eulogy and he and Jason hit the emotional punch the hardest for me. Shout out to KV, DZ, KS, JJ and Rocco’s actor for their performances as well. NLG did decent work too and I had forgotten how great she and KeMo both were during that Kristina transplant story and the initial Sam and Alexis paternity reveal. Alexis having Molly and Kristina just sit with her at the end was nice and then that final Sam montage was excellent. This character was basically the second lead actress for the majority of her run and I’m glad they showcased all of her history one last time. I liked Ava and Lucas talking at Julian’s grave. I think y’all are a bit harder on VH than he deserves but he does tend to hit false notes in his performances. Maura West carried him though and I loved Ava’s line about Lucas only being a visitor of this kind of blame and isolation. I liked the Lulu reveal at the end and can’t wait to see what Alexa Havins brings.
  8. I do think Gio’s characterization has been better under the current regime because they’ve leaned into the actors goofiness and sarcasm but he’s barely ever on now, and when he is I don’t see any real chemistry with Trina or Joss outside of friendship. He comes off like their gal pal instead of another viable young male they could be paired off with. My last ditch effort if I thought the show would allow it would be to make him gay and do a line stepping triangle with him secretly messing with both Lucas and Aidan on some messy down low type of timing.
  9. I’m a biased Guza era GH fan so I’m thrilled he’s on staff. He and Michele understand the importance of layered characters, big story climaxes and strong daily dialogue which are things the current soaps routinely miss. Absolutely love that all of the script writers are black, that is how you pay things forward.
  10. Today’s episode was really solid. I liked Jason and Carly playing role reversal with her chewing him out for acting reckless. Ric and Drew was a surprising team up but it works well and lead to some great Jason vs Ric scenes at the end of the show. Carly and Drew finally addressing their break up over her loyalty to Jason was good too, I can’t wait for her to find out about Drew sleeping with Nina and Willow. I agree with @Vee that they allowed too much of Lucky and Aidan’s dynamic play out off screen so now he looks like a bum trying to once again run out on his family. This is a potentially good story with great actors being killed by poor guarantee management. That said I did like the material today with Lucky boxing with Sonny and debating staying in PC as well as Liz talking to Terry on how she’s fed up with his antics. Did a Hulu binge yesterday so I got some thoughts on stuff that aired throughout the last week or so. First off I loved seeing Jason whoop Drew’s ass 😂 much deserved and Ned’s reactions were hilarious. Willow and Drew finally banging was outrageous and I do like how shameless they both are behaving. Drew embracing his inner Quartermaine has been a much needed shift I just wish Michael wasn’t being written as such a wuss having his daddies fight his battles while he mops around town distraught. Hopefully his call to Diane leads to more torturous behavior towards his wife and uncle. Kristina is absolutely insufferable to me now and those scenes with her making Sam’s death about herself to Natalia and Alexis were gross. I did like her remembering Molly’s birthday tho. They really gotta just cool it on Sonny and Natalia btw, its never happening. At this point just put him with Alexis. Jack and Carly on the other hand is the best LW pairing I’ve seen in ages. He should have been a Jax recast but I kind of like Carly dealing with a new man that can observe and be jealous of her dynamics with fresh eyes Isaiah has been a great cast addition and I’m glad he’ll be added to the hospital roster. His chem test with Molly was really good, this actor has worked well with every screen partner they’ve put him with. I couldn’t believe they added two more young black male actors, BTG really has TPTB shook 😂 I think the sidekick had a bit more presence onscreen but I do like Kai and his chemistry with Trina so far. I wish somebody would work with Tabyana Ali on her unnatural line delivery though…she’s been on the show too long for that, it takes me out of scenes and at one point it seemed like it was rubbing off on Kai’s actor. This whole Sasha paternity reveal and Sidwell kidnapping was incredibly hamfisted but its made me warm to the actress more so, mission accomplished I guess. Tristan Rogers has also sounded ready for retirement all year so I’m glad they put him and Holly together and ushered them off. The show has been strong overall IMO but some episodes have been killed with the 40 second scene editing. The episode that had Sasha and Felicia talking about Holly and Alexis being comforted by Diane was the worst offender of this, good scenes that never were allowed to breathe. It must test better with audiences but I hate it, same with the pots and pans background music.
  11. The timing of that video release is interesting lol..I think her exit is unfortunate but she was parked to the side for so long it honestly doesn’t feel like the show lost much with her absence.
  12. Good article thanks for posting @Liberty City Glad she didn’t bother watching any clips of the other actresses. I want to see a fresh take
  13. Its interesting to me that the show got a nice bit of press these last couple of weeks with Drake’s death, Day of Days etc and ended up becoming Peacocks top rated series. None of the streamers ever talk up the numbers for the soaps and I think its a shame because the shows are clearly performing well.
  14. I always forget to comment on this show but I’m loving Nicola Mitchell 🔥 Teddy and his boys have really come into their own since the Panesar feud and Jack blackmail plots started a few weeks back. Nicola’s addition has added some needed layers and bite to all of their dynamics and the actress has a great presence on screen.
  15. The writing was on the wall once they put her and Devon together for real. Swirl security only works one way and it ain’t favorable to the black male/white female pairings. For as long as MO has been on the show I can count on one hand the amount of stories and pairings that actually sold and they were all short lived. Its insane when you realize how regime after regime has tried to make Abby work as a leading romantic character only for it to inevitably fail every single time. I can’t even blame MO 100% because Rylan and Hayley Erin stunk in the role too. Honestly the only Abby I actually liked was Darcy Rose Byrnes. Hopefully she books a good gig and leaves the show for good
  16. I love the UK production models, Eastenders and Emmerdale specifically are very visually pleasing to watch with their permanent outside sets. I would love to see BTG do something similar but I’m expecting it to look closer to All My Children during the LA years. That on set announcement video with the core four leads reinforced that expectation for me.
  17. Alexa looks good and crazily similar to JMB. I’m excited for this recast
  18. Glad they’re doing cliffhangers week one. B&B is probably the only show that still knows how to end an episode making me want to tune in the next day even when the story is ridiculous Or the men walking around either bald or unkept fros with no line up or taper 🤦🏾‍♂️ Still hoping Vicki Rowell ends up involved with the show somehow
  19. I’m not with all the doom and gloom talk. As Lauren London once said “don’t focus on the future focus on the present” lol. Right now we have a black lead, black created soap opera being filmed and headed to airwaves next year with real backing. Lets keep celebrating that instead of manifesting negative outcomes.
  20. Good episode today Glad Michael and Diane got to react to Sam’s death though Diane turning the convo with Jason into a discussion about Robert and Holly was a…choice. Kristina got on my nerves during the scenes discussing Sam’s autopsy but it was definitely true to character. Her breakdown at the chapel was good work by Mansi and I liked Michael going to comfort her. Losing the older sibling and suddenly becoming the one who’s supposed to pick up the mantle is a tough thing to deal with and I like how they had her ponder that. Felicia being Alexis’s advocate and comforting her was nice and I’m glad TJ got to be there for Molly. I don’t care for the way Alexis heavily relies so much on Molly to be strong. Their last scenes of the episode kind of made her earlier statement about not just pretending to be okay for her sake null and void. I loved Sasha and Willow having a go at each other. This could be a great feud if the show plays it right. Sasha dragged her good the entire convo and the way she slid out of telling Willow she spilled the beans to Michael about the second Mildrew kiss was slick as hell. Willow is an absolute ho, I couldn’t believe they had her and Drew finally doing the deed but I’m glad the show went there. All while Sasha got kidnapped by Sidwell made the whole thing even funnier 😂 him and his goons taking her and threatening Carly was good stuff as was the scene of Holly finding her room ransacked. Nina and Ava scenes were nice as well I guess the writers realized how rushed their reunion felt and circled back. I do wonder if they’ll really have Nina be done with Drew after this nastiness or if she was just doing lip service. I’m curious where the show heads with the rest of these stories, a lot of potential here
  21. Monday’s episode was sad as hell but had a lot of excellent performances Jason telling Maxie and Spinelli was heart breaking. The JaSam and Spixie dynamic was one of my favorite parts of those later Guza years so I’m glad the show gave their history the respect it deserves. Wonderful emotional work from all three actors. The acknowledgment of Sam being the reason they all were even in each other’s lives was especially poignant. The Danny and Carly scenes were sweet as well. The ending with Jason walking in, Danny running to hug him and Jason mouthing “thank you” to Carly was a nice call back to their scenes from the Josslyn and Jake donor transplant story. Rocco telling Laura he was basically manifesting Sam’s death was a shocker lol, his actor continues to do standout work. Love watching Laura as a grandmother Dante and Sonny scenes were good as well. The breaking down DZ plays every time the engagement comes up really hits emotionally. Nancy Lee Grahn and Kristen Vaganos continued to do excellent work too, Alexis breaking down like that really got me man kudos. Same for Molly’s devastation realizing the last time she saw Sam she was storming out because the sisters couldn’t stop fighting. I’m not exactly sure what Mansi was attempting to do in these scenes but she fell completely flat for me. Cameron Mathison was the same way in his scenes with Scout’s actress. I hope the show eases up on even showcasing their character’s perspective anymore after these lackluster performances Robert and Anna were once again not needed for the episode. Really weird how they had their scenes end the episode instead of the montage with Laura narrating. Guess PM really can’t be blamed for all the terrible episode closing choices under his regime.
  22. I don’t mind Beemer but I was hoping after MM’s grandstanding over her last exit that we’d get a Belle recast, oh well. They’ll probably get fired again in a years time per usual.
  23. Did not ever expect them to go there with the Ej and Sami rape. I will tune back in when the new regime starts.
  24. Dominic Z, Steve Burton, NLG, Genie Francis, Kristen V and Rocco’s actor did superb work Friday, just straight up broke my heart. When Alexis grabbed Dante’s face and told him him how it all happened and Dante just bursts out crying when she mentions her and Sam discussing the engagement? Pure devastation. Him blaming himself to Sonny and then going to see the body was heart breaking as well, I hope he gets an Emmy push this year he’s been the standout actor on the show IMO. Jason telling Danny and Scout, Rocco expressing his guilt to Laura for being jealous in the past over not having his mom around, and Molly just being in a complete state of shock after Alexis told her and Kristina got me in my feels as well. Bravo to those actors. Alexis being ice cold with Laura after she waltzed in assuming something happened to Lulu instead was good stuff and I hope they keep playing this resentment. I did find it weird they had Sonny and Laura joking around again prior to the death reveal after the months of cold beef but whatever. Guess nobody can hate Sonny anymore. Loved Carly being Jason’s first call and her reaction of shock and acknowledgment of her and Sam’s history of beef rang true to character for me. Now I never saw Drew and Sam as a couple but Cameron Mathison played all his scenes as if Carly had told him she got his BLT order wrong instead of the mother of his child being dead, what the actual hell man. His performance completely took me out of the emotion of the episode. Danny’s actor was solid til he started that inappropriate smirking he tends to do and Mansi did nothing for me with her usual theatric acting bag either. I enjoyed the Zenon joke and I loved seeing Maxie and Spinelli parenting their kids, it added a different kind of heart to the episode and didn’t feel out of place to me at all. Gonna be heartbreaking watching Jason tell them Sam’s gone. Holly and Robert were the only scenes I totally checked out of but other than that another great episode IMO.
