It's interesting to read the circumstances of Burnell leaving.I had assumed he left voluntarily after a long run in the role. The next Mike didn't last long and the Armand Assante took over.He seems an enormous contrast to Burnell's Mike. I wonder if at some point they should have invited Burnell back.

Did Jane ever do any other acting? What happened to her? I wonder if she would have been willing to go back? Nancy was forgotten after Jane left.

Is Susan (Betsy) Giles the character or actress? Lisa Cameron as playing Susan Matthews at this time.

Liz Hubbard's second marriage to David Bennett received quite a bit of publicity and produced her son Jeremy.In an interview I saw on Daytime Royalty she mentioned a brief first marriage to an actor that she didn't name. For anyone interested the marriage took place in May 1960 and the groom was Sidney Kay, also an actor.

There are two Jocelyn Somers listed on IMDB. The actress that played Jean Barton on DOOL in 1977 is one of them.If she was the one to play Jesse then she would have been in the age group to play a sister.Is she also the temp Althea? I don't know anything about the other Jocelyn Somers (she only had 2 credits on IMDB).She may be old enough to have played Kate's mother.

When Simon left Peter Ratray took over as Scott until the Phillips were written off by the Corringtons. Peter went on to ATWT (Ian) and from 82 GL (Ed) but never to SFT.

Reagrding the current (Feb 69 ) episodes we are seeing,there seems to be a lot of negativity towards the Liz/Phillip story on other boards. I wonder if this is because Rita Lakin is not writing this.When she became co writer with Rick Edelstein,her contract called for 16 weeks off.How that was broken up,who knows,but perhaps she had time off at this point and wasn't totally focussed on the show. Maybe she agreed to the concept of the story but Edelstein did the actual plotting. We do know that by June 69 she was Mod Squad story editor. Raymond Owen is seen again in February as John Powell,hospital board member.

For 1977 that seemed a very forthright article. Pat Falken Smith had in another interview talked about how they deliberately kept David and Val from touching/kissing so as not to offend audiences and they hoped that by the time it happened viewers would be supportive of the couple. She was furious that they kissed at Doug and Julie's wedding which was a big episode. Have read elsewhere that the David/Trish pregnancy was a quick rewrite to break up David and Val. What was the point of the Sharon story?
