  1. As for 'Victor has gone too far this time' and 'He will pay for this'-why not go to the non existent GC police and actually report all these crimes? It's totally ridiculous, even in soap opera terms. Let alone "Summers Conglomerates' . Within weeks an entire world wide corporation can be taken over singlehandedly by a psychotic redhead. And BTW Faith has an internship in NY. Who?
  2. All true. But what is puzzling is that they write the stories like those sets and actors would be available. I was concerned at the outset when they announced realtor, fireman, politician, journalist etc as occupations but figured there would be a way to showcase it somehow. Instead it's all tell don't show which gets wearing after awhile. Write the show to the budget. There was no point to Derek being a fireman, Vanessa being in real estate, Martin a politician when it is not explored or has much bearing on the characters. They would have been better off having more characters work at the hospital, police station or Bill's office as these are pretty much the only workplaces shown.
  3. Also, that pool scene was straight out of every TV show of the 70's/80's- the camera always panned to a guy doing a fancy dive right on cue. However, they missed out on the boobalicous bikini babes tossing an inflatable beach bool to each other and bouncing in time.
  4. I thought Galen had joined Ken Corday's Untouchables Club- charter member Josh Taylor.
  5. You may be right. Sometimes with that mountain of hair you got the feeling she might topple over.
  6. Malcolm and Stephanie together at empty Crimson Lights. Maybe they're reminiscing about when there were customers? I wonder what, if any, history revisit that might come out of this return? Surely Josn won't resist the chance to rewrite the past for no purpose?
  7. Charlene, bless her, was so tiny that I'm surprised she was cast in the first place. And the show seemed to go out of their way to make that obvious instead of shooting scenes in such a way to cover it up. Maybe even casting someone a little shorter as her love interest. It makes me think of Joan Crawford who was only 5'3" but came across much taller onscreen due to clever staging. And yes, Mitch was a dud. Lucy should have married a young businessman with ties to Ewing Oil to keep them in the mix.
  8. That would require being familiar with the history of the show and using it strategically to propel new stories. Something that seemed to be anathema to TIIC. I wonder how many actors would have been more than happy to return to the show? There was so much history to be mined.
  9. Has there been any explanation as to why Patty was released other than ' I was released' Shades of 'Matt faked his death' to sum up that gaping plot point. And Patty is dressed to the nines, groomed. Where is the money coming from? Or is this yet another Victor scheme? Has that been firmly established?
  10. If they wanted to keep AA for whatever reason, then they should have changed the writing to better suit his 'strengths'. Maybe play up that he is very reserved/emotionless and go from there.Have Kat get frustrated with that and seek out someone more soulful eg Isaiah and reignite Kat v Eva.
  11. Moonlighting viewers were not enticed to hang around for Jack & Mike. Same for Harry and The Tortelli's -not retaining enough of the lead in. Rags to Riches made an initial splash, but failed the following season Fri @8. Popcorn Kid, Harry, Roomies, Spies, Outlaws etc So many failures.

  13. The big reveal after Laura was run off the road (in a location shoot) was Leslie taking off the helmet. A great set up/hook - but Laura was a minor character that we were never allowed to be invested in and today we still have Leslie swanning around. It was bait/switch. We should have seen Laura struggling to recover and having memory flashes of the culprit. Finally Laura remembering that it was Leslie through some slip up on Leslie's part and just as she is to reveal the truth she collapses and when she regains consciousness her memories have gone and Leslie get a reprieve ...for now.
  14. @DeliaIrisFan Excellent post. Leslie should have had some comeuppance by now and plans should have been laid that gave her an exit strategy to keep her on the canvas. Same with Hayley and the poisoning plot that went nowhere. There needed to be some resolution ,again with a twist that kept Hayley around. Interesting to see where those characters go this year.
  15. Those Bob Hope specials were ratings dynamite throughout the 60's and 70's but lost their appeal as the 80's wore on as evidenced by being scheduled on Sat @8. Bob won the timeslot but #36.... When did his last special air? I wonder how much interest there was from both sides by this stage?
  16. Susan Seaforth Hayes and Frances Reid. Susan admits that in her primetime on Days she could be prickly and protective of her space on the show.
  17. Naomi should be working in Bill's office, setting the scene for father/daughter clashes over their professional ethics and approaches. Instead she hangs around eateries. It would allow reasons for Dani to be there etc. They need more workplaces where several characters can interact. Similarly Derek should have been a cop.
  18. I'm having to look very hard to see any resemblance to Mia with that woman in the photo. Maybe it's the grainy photo or a certain expression on her face.
  19. i don't know if it was personal or just a clash of working styles but Mary Stuart and new onscreen love interest Chris Delon played by Paul Dumont didn't hit it off. Chris was written off after a few months.
  20. Thanks @slick jones Have we been able to work out who Mia played?
  21. Re surnames. We know that the Dobsons chose Scott for Jackie's maiden name, unaware that it was Peggy's maiden name. There were also characters with the surname Wexler in the late 60's and then the Dobsons introduced Lucille and Amanda a decade later. This one is more strange as Wexler is an unusual name, but I don't think there was any connection-why would there be?
