  3. Didn't realize the Park Cafe set actually appeared years ago
  4. Are we considering the brick wall to be a new set? My worry with Deanna is that like Donnell, Samantha and Tyrell they will turn up once in a while. They need to have a steady storyline for some/all of them. Deanna arrived with a bang but she's already out of the picture. Having Vanessa deal with her kids might give her more nuance than wannabe mob queen.
  5. Lauren is giving MAGA face. This non story about Lauren going to work at Newman...just filler. Nick/Adam's hotel room looks very familiar. OMG there were double the amount of extras at CL -2 instead of 1. So Diane goes from frantic about Jack to walking out b/c she saw him with Patty. He was obviously drugged and the whole situation was so bizarre but she's quick to judge-which is laughable as she was forgiven for faking her own death.
  6. The Hamilton living room Yes it's supposed to be flashy/tacky to represent Hayley. I've seen many a mansion in magazines that look showy and gaudy but this room just looks cramped and cheap. The table and chairs crammed up against the bookcase. The styling of the bookcase. The floral arrangement and sconce lights that are always on.That basic artwork. It's pretty bad from all angles. And they didn't include some doors in the room or corridor to suggest other rooms in a supposedly sprawling mansion. We now know that Hayley is world's worst con woman but surely she would be trying to imitate the Dupree style. And Bill after all these years would know from quality. His office is quite restrained so he obviously knows that flashy isn't the best direction to go in. But I guess he let his darlin' have her way with design. The flipside is Nicole's house that is supposed to look restrained and elegant but comes off bland.
  7. There are probably more 70's out there. Directors/actors etc from that time would have kept some tapes. We can only hope they come to light.
  8. Oh the drama is real in GC. Nikki has just discovered that Victor, of all people. has had Jack kidnapped. This is a step too far for her. Why she even told him off! Don't worry though. No doubt, she'll calm down once Victor explains he did it to save their family! But Nikki's no pushover. She warns Victor if he ever pulls a stunt like this again., the marriage is OVER!!
  9. Falcon Crest losing a lot of the Dallas lead in. But it would bounce back. TJ Hooker was the 90 min premiere. It never matched that rating again but did way better than Kings Crossing. One of The Boys hit the Top 20 for it's first episode so viewer interest was there but it quickly fell to the bottom of the heap. NBC were competitive Mon -Thurs but Fri & Sat were disasters which dragged down the weekly average. Those bottom shows aired Fri & Sat nights. Barbara Mandrell, a Sat staple was shunted to Tues night with rpt episodes. Night of !00 Stars was a 3 hr Monday special. MASH was pushed out of the Top 20.
  10. Sarah Whiting-another of those strange attempts to revisit the past. Len and Patti had a daughter Tracey who could have been aged up, but instead they create a never before mentioned adopted daughter Sarah. WHY?? And then she gets killed off and Pod Patti arrives with no kids in tow... Who was making these cockamamie decisions at the very time SFT needed a solid direction.
  11. I also enjoy BTG. I only make time for it and Y&R on a regular basis and agree that it is an entertaining watch. Some great actors, strong scenes and interesting stories. And the advantage of not being saddled with decades of plot and characters past their use by date. But I'm not blind to the fact that there are faults that need to be addressed and corrected. It's frustrating when certain plot points are presented and you wonder-why did they make that choice. Maybe I'm just more critical than others who seem to think the show can do no wrong and any criticism is hating and unjustified. I think they fumbled all 3 big initial plots. There has been no fallout from the Martin story-his career should have been derailed and he has to win back trust etc. Leslie had just become a nuisance-there should have some come-uppance. Having endless bags of money at this stage isn't working. It would have been more realistic had she spent up big and soon found out the well had run dry. That would have put her back in the have not category and scheming to get ahead. And Bill/Hayley has fizzled out-the reveal of her true nature was good but the poisoning was never explained and the constant public meet up with Randy...Feb sweeps should have seen some drama with Hayley accelerating the plan and maybe accidentally taking poison herself or Bill discovering something about her past that she had to wriggle out of-something that would up the stakes. And the couples aren't really facing any conflict. Kat /Tomas have a few minor disagreements as do Chelsea/Madison etc We need some obstacles and couples torn apart fighting to get back together.
  12. Unless it was her choice, that was something that should have stayed a Christmas tradition.
  13. Are u being sarcastic? Yes Mary sang on the show for years and released some albums/singles.
  14. Funny to think at the start they boasted about 27 sets. At the risk of having Judge Judy raise her eyebrows(again) the set situation is a problem. By creating all these businesses/occupations they have contributed to the problem. Did Vanessa nead to be a realtor when it is now ignored. Derek a fireman. Isaiah and the twins at Banneker that we don't see.Creating a bedroom set only at first for Jacob and Naomi who has no office. Now Shanice is in a romance with Ted but has no home set. Neither does Tomas. It's restricting the development of stories. Derek as apoliceman was a no brainer. Have several characters working in one place a la the hospital eg Martin or Vanessa's office.
  15. Musical Chairs was the first network game show to have a black host. Adam Wade had appeared on Search for Tomorrow in 1970 as a part of the Rec Center story that also featured Irene Cara. So perhaps he played a part in Mary Stuart appearing or it was just a coincidence. Musical Chairs was shortlived June 16-October 31 1975. 4pm up against Somerset and The Moneymaze/You Don't Say. Replaced by the even shorter lived Give-n-Take.
  16. Same with How To Survive A Marriage. She had a specific contract at $1000 an episode (about $6500 today)and then departed.
  17. Amy could have returned when the show went to an hour. Could you see Kathleen Noone as Amy rather than Ellen? The Tylers were getting a little worn out and Amy returning could have created drama for Phoebe, Linc and Kelly and especially for Phil to adjust to having his mother around. And Amy could have an adopted/foster child to bring in a young character and there could be a whole story of how she came to be with Amy.
  18. Yes when he was on GL. If it had been EON there might be a connection. Otherwise seems quite random.
  19. Tristan Rogers made the cover of Ellery Queen's Mystery Magazine Oct 1990. Not sure why...
  20. All 3 Lorimar soaps-Dallas, Knots Landing, Falcon Crest started as episodic with continuing threads before becoming full blown soaps. Flamingo Road however was more of a continuing drama from the start. A World Apart fired/lost Irna Phillips and her daughter as writer/consultant after the first year. All My Children recast Kate, Linc and Anne in the first year and of course dropped Amy after Rosemary Prinz fulfilled her 6 month contract.
  21. Thanks @JAS0N47 Good to see how a particular episode played out.
  22. I understand about budgets etc but don't commit to a story (the clinic) that can't be shown onscreen. And Leslie having these millions on tap has been suspect from the start.
  23. Might be interesting at some point for a new man to be interested in Marlena. She would have to work through that and decide if she's ready/prepared to move on. Ultimately she might decide that at this point a relationship is not what she needs.
  24. According to the AWHP Alex Gregory First Appearance:July 2, 1965 Last Appearance:October 27, 1965 He died in a car crash Ernest Gregory First Appearance: September 8, 1964 Last Appearance: December 7, 1965 Karen Gregory First Appearance: July 2, 1965 Last Appearance: November 9, 1965 The parents were recurring players with a few appearances The Baxters stayed on till Sept 65, so most of Lipton's run. 25. @vetsoapfan thanks for clarifying. I wonder if Irna had stayed a bit longer, how things might have been different. How much did James Lipton actually change? maybe some version of the Gregory family were already in the planning stages?
