  1. I watched every Daytime Emmy broadcast from 1985-2011 and 2020 onward and the best years were 1985-1999.
  2. I wonder who Andre was thinking about when he was lying in his bed. Kat gives me feels of Y&R early Christel Khalil Lily, and her being a virgin is a throwback to the 1980s prized virgin heroine ie. Y&R Cricket, B&B Caroline, As the World Turns Lily.
  3. 1999, the last great Daytime Emmys.
  4. IIRC Storm was a nickname given to Stephen Logan Jr. as he had a stormy temper. Much like William Foster Jr. was given the nickname Snapper for snapping at everyone. I remember an interview with either Bill Bell or Bradley where it was mentioned Bill Bell got the name Ridge from a college classmate of Bradley's. Bradley even said that his classmate tells everyone "I'm the real Ridge". I don't where Bill Bell got Thorne from.
  5. There was also nepo babies Ethan Wayne and Carrie Mitchum.
  6. He refuses to have a dad bod.
  7. Is JM making the booty pop too? BtG has all the males shook.
  8. 40 years ago this week.
  9. OMG, Derek is BtG's version of an overgrown frat boy!
  10. Probably not. Then again, if any character defined the final 25 years of GL it was Reva.
  11. This could be a mid-season replacement. Happy for Shemar.
  12. Hold up, is SD making the booty pop? Maybe he's trying to compete w/ the BtG booty popping hahaha.
  13. Thanks @Taoboi I know I'm out of the loop re Miami Housewives LOL. From what I've seen of Larsa's new boo, she clearly has a type hahaha.
  14. Vanessa is bordering on nasty ho territory. Normally I agree with you @Soapsuds but not on this. Dani opened up to Andre about her insecurities since the end of her marriage, and Andre listened and supported her. Their booty call hook ups are so turning into love.
  15. Hahaha, dead. I can see them connecting as cousins. They are the weak links of the main cast.
  16. Family Feud soap opera specials were the best!
  17. Miami returns June 11. The Real Housewives of Miami Season 7: What We Know So Far | Us Weekly I'll be watching to see Larsa/Marcus break up and Larsa's new boo.
  18. I did not know that Barbara Bel Geddes walked from Dallas rather than have her episodes cut in the final season. I had always read retirement due to health was the reason she was absent from the final season. Jane Wyman was not looking healthy during the final two seasons of Falcon Crest but I still think budget mode lead to her episodes being cut in the final season, considering that she lived another 17 years after Falcon Crest ended.
  19. I wonder if Maeve Kinkead had beef with Pamela Long. Remember Maeve didn't thank Pamela Long in her Emmy speech but thanked Douglas Marland for creating Vanessa and Nancy Curlee for giving Vanessa new life. To me it seemed Pamela Long diminished Vanessa in favor of her creations Reva and Alexandra.
  20. It was reported that Jane Wyman absence in the final season was due to health (it's documented that Jane was diabetic) but I believe her episodes being cut was a budget mode move. Similar move Dallas pulled in 1990, it was reported that Barbara Bel Geddes retired due to health (it's documented that Barbara had a heart condition) but I say salary dump. Jane Wyman only acted once after Falcon Crest, a 1993 episode of Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman, but she lived another 14 years after that. Barbara Bel Geddes did not act again after her last episode of Dallas in 1990 but she lived another 15 years after that. The trifecta of suck at Lorimar was Les Moonves, Leonard Katzman, and Michael Filerman. It was a pattern across all three CBS primetime soaps in the off the rails plus budget mode era to salary dump the long-time female cast members and bring on sweet young things hired on the cheap.
  21. Kat is a spoiled brat princess and Silk Press Sheila called her out on it. Silk Press Sheila is someone not to mess with. I was actually scared for Kat when she was alone with Silk Press Sheila and recording their conversation.
  22. You're welcome @soapfan770 Kristian Alfonso was a popular daytime star from a show popular with a younger audience that was brought on to an aging primetime soap with the expectation that their huge daytime following would carry over. I don't think she has spoken much about her time on Falcon Crest despite being the show's new pet that became front-burner lead right away. I also don't believe she was hired on the cheap given her daytime popularity and following. Notice how most of the former daytime actors and actresses that were on the CBS primetime soaps were from ABC or NBC. CBS had so much of their own daytime talent they could have used on their primetime soaps but for whatever reason that didn't happen and I think demographics played a part in that (CBS daytime skewing older than ABC/NBC).
  23. It's been brought up that Empty Nest was a time slot hit. Here's Empty Nest schedule and seasonal rating in comparison to The Golden Girls. 1988/89: The Golden Girls Saturday 9 pm, 6th. Empty Nest Saturday 9:30 pm, 9th. 1989/90: The Golden Girls Saturday 9 pm, 6th. Empty Nest Saturday 9:30 pm, 9th. 1990/91: The Golden Girls Saturday 9 pm, 10th. Empty Nest Saturday 9:30 pm, 7th. 1991/92: The Golden Girls Saturday 8 pm, 30th (final season). Empty Nest Saturday 9 pm, 22nd. 1992/93: Saturday 9 pm, below the Top 30. 1993/94: Saturday 9 pm, below the Top 30. 1994/95: Saturday 8:30 pm then 8 pm, below the Top 30, and cancelled. Empty Nest 7 season run equaled the parent show The Golden Girls.
  24. 40 years ago tonight.
  25. 35 years ago tonight was the series finale. Promo at 11:43
