Thank you for the reply @Khan Roscoe Born was 44 in 1994 and Lane Davies was 43 in 1994 so I don't think age would be an issue, considering Ron Raines was 45 in 1994. If we go by CB birth year 1940, how many big name soap actors of that age (give or take a couple years) were available in 1994? I can't think of any off the top of my head.

Terry Lester left ATWT sometime in Spring 1994 (I can't remember the exact time, but I'm pretty sure it was before OJ), so the timing works but I'm not sure if P&G ever considered him as a potential Alan recast. Alan got de-aged with Ron Raines (45 in 1994), so Terry Lester age (44 in 1994) would not have been an issue.

I wonder if Andre was influenced by Y&R Malcolm. Photographer, popular with the ladies. Sean Freeman is not Shemar Moore level yet though.

@alwaysAMC I don't know of any other streaming sites but maybe DVDs are floating around for cheap somewhere online. Then again, with DVDs there's still the same issues of episodes being cut because of music or episodes having music replaced. Also DVDs might have cut syndication episodes vs. full original broadcast episodes.

Jon Lindstrom was born in 1957. We can't be casting actresses born 1945-1947 as his mother.

Like I said before, Andre/Dani are the soap couple I didn't know I needed. I haven't come across any site that lists songs played on the show. Wishful thinking, but maybe a soundtrack eventually released.

I love this take Don't forget the off the charts heat generating love scenes set to an R&B slow jam.

IRL Sean Freeman (Andre) is 4 or 5 years older than Jibre Hordges (Jacob). Oh yes. 100% this.

Looking back...Primetime Ratings from the 80's
1988/89 was the writer's strike delayed season and so many shows felt off. CBS Sunday lineup of 60 Minutes; Murder, She Wrote; and Sunday Movie kept CBS primetime afloat through that third place primetime mess era 1987-1991.

Ratings from the 1990s
1995/96 was dominated by NBC Thursday: ER #1, Seinfeld 2nd, Friends 3rd. I don't count the NBC Thursday garbage shows that made the Top 10. 1995/96 was CBS 1990s primetime nadir. They were being sold to Westinghouse and Les Moonves arrived. Their only Top 10 show was 60 Minutes.

At this point I'm reading recaps and fast forwarding through the garbage time.

There's so little action in the Y&R thread due to so much garbage time yet I can barely keep up with the Beyond the Gates thread.

On what planet is Jacob hotter than Andre? In my mind, Andre is the hotness of BTG. Not seeing any connection. I'm like "damn girl you thirsty".

B&B: Will we see another head-writer of the show in our lifetime?
@soapfan770 Bill Bell grandchildren from Google search. Bill Bell Jr. and Maria Arena Bell have a son Liam and a daughter Sabrina. I couldn't find the ages of Bill Jr. and Maria's children. Bradley Bell and Colleen Bell have four children: sons Bradley and Oliver and daughters Caroline and Charlotte. I couldn't find the ages of Bradley and Colleen's children. Lauralee Bell and Scott Martin have a son Christian (born 2001) and a daughter Samantha (born 2002).

Dallas Discussion Thread
Larry Hagman was the breakout star of Dallas and both he and JR became pop culture phenomenons, not just in this country but internationally. That gave him leverage in contract renegotiations. Larry was the reason CBS primetime rode high from 1980-1985 and I'm pretty sure it's documented that Larry had the highest salary of a CBS primetime star in that era. He might also have had the highest salary of a CBS primetime star during the final 6 seasons of Dallas.

Knots Landing
Ted Shackelford, Joan Van Ark, Michele Lee were original cast members but I don't know how long their initial contracts were so there had to have been some salary renegotiation after the initial contracts were up. Donna Mills came on in season 2 so she would have been on a different contract cycle than the original cast and I'm pretty sure she also had a salary renegotiation after her initial contract was up. 1987 seems to be the year where the budget issues started across all three CBS primetime soaps and by Fall 1988 budget mode kicked in.

I wonder if any of Bill Bell's grandchildren inherited his writing talent. I believe they are all grown by now.
