  1. This seems legit: There is a memorial page here: https://www.dignitymemorial.com/obituaries/hyannis-ma/nancy-frangione-11413676 Scroll down. A classmate and friend have left condolences. So many soap stars are dying early. May Ms. Frangione rest in peace.
  2. Per a Deadline article, Eric Braden has announced he is cancer free. Good for him! https://deadline.com/2023/08/the-young-and-the-restless-eric-braeden-cancer-free-1235500553/
  3. Another possible Brady/Rex, Ben/Alex deal, this time with Emily O' Brien? If this is true, RIDICULOUS. There are PLENTY of unemployed soap actors, Widen the casting net!
  4. I cannot believe Paul Reubens is gone. Just seems way too soon! To think another late great, Phil Hartman, helped shape Pee Wee Herman. May Paul rest in peace.
  5. While I'm sad to hear Tony Bennett has passed, he is now free of the horrible disease that is Alzheimer's. May he rest in peace.
  6. You need to actually do some research. Like any industry, the wealthy "name" actors account for the "1%" in the acting world. The rest barely make enough to live. In addition, AI is now a threat.
  7. Oh, no! I always liked Nicolas Coster. Lionel Lockridge on Santa Barbara was a riot! (Of course, I am well aware that he appeared on many other soaps prior, but Lionel was my first real exposure to him.) He also had a small, but great, role in the movie, Betsy's Wedding with Alan Alda, Madeline Kahn, Molly Ringwald, Ally Sheedy, Catherine O'Hara, Joe Pesci, and Anthony LaPaglia as the prospective father-in-law of Ringwald's Betsy. Rest in peace, Mr. Coster. Thanks for the laughs - and even a tear or two! On a final bittersweet note, at least he and his youngest son are now reunited. (I still recall him talking about having a child later in life in SOD and how sad it was that that son died so young.)
  8. Because the very definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. Hell, who am I kidding? It's about $$$$$$$$. Screw democracy!
  9. Alas, this can all go sideways quickly. Why? Guess who the judge is? AILEEN CANNON. I know.
  10. Irna Phillips sounded like she was...a bit unhinged, to put it kindly. Thank goodness no one listened to her as far as Alice Horton went.
  11. I think the bigger question is, will there even be scab writers this time around? Because from everything I'm reading, the WGA is really digging in against that this time around, assuming writers want to be a part of that union. Makes me wonder if ABC will indeed raid their back catalog. Maybe do some theme weeks honoring lost actors/characters? Like have a week devoted to Alan Quartermaine, Edward Quartermaine, Bobbie Spencer, etc.
  12. Actually, I think a lot of shows do this! A therapist on one of the L&O shows had the same as name as one of the crew members in the credits. Must be an easy way to get options.
  13. One of my favorite songs of Tina Turner's: Sing with the angels, Tina!
  14. Chiming in that actors are like the rest of us and timelines can be skewed in their minds. That said, I also believe Jed Allan was referring to Wanda De Jesus. He was not shy in his dislike of her.
  15. Just more "peaceful protesting", right-wing, Nazi style.
  16. Deadline has another WGA Strike article up with various photos. One photo includes Thomas Ian Griffith and Mary Page Keller. Griffith seems to rock a gray beard. All pictures are labeled, albeit in tiny lettering, but scroll among the other photos and you should come across it. (Just click the above link.)
  17. Yawn. She can't do jack schitt. This is just more performance theater for the knuckle-dragging MAGA cult.
  18. So she wants President Harris? Whatever to that lunatic.
  19. Clearly, Haley Pullos has problems, both legal and personal. DUI could have resulted in her killing someone or herself. All that said, if Molly is recast for good, maybe...have Lexi play Molly if the show is determined to have Kate Mansi? (I know, likely too confusing and whatnot. But a nice fantasy of an idea.)
  20. I get what you're saying, but at the time Bobbie and Luke appeared with the whole Luke/Laura/Ice Princess craze, GH transcended "just" soap press. As someone said, it became a cultural phenomenon. For better or worse, that never happened for the P&G soaps, so as unfair as it may be, the passing of actors from those shows won't get much notice.
  21. Ditch Daniel and Summer, pretend they never existed, and this sounds decent.
  22. And Jacklyn Zeman, along with Anthony Geary, Genie Francis, etc., LITERALLY saved GH from cancellation and helped turn it into the pop culture phenomenon that GH became in the early '80s. That soap reached viewer numbers at that time that NO other soap has or will ever see. In that context, I get why a rival network would acknowledge Jackie Zeman's passing.
  23. Copied from the article thread in the news forum here: Saw this on Twitter. I still can't quite believe it. Bobbie may have become marginalized, but JZ still was a link to GH's great past. Barbara Jean Spencer was a great bad girl gone good...or at least, a gray character. May Jaclyn Zeman rest in peace. And per the question above, another Tweet said it was a short battle with cancer. Damn.
