  1. Happy New Year to you, and thanks for all the work you've done!
  2. LOL...Nikki was always such a 'ho.
  3. The Vanessa episode is German episode 1038. The Tony episode is 1039. And ergo, ATWT's Barbara and Gunnar must have married the first week in May, 1983. If Spauldingfield's dates are correct, 1038 would be May 4, and 1039 May 5.
  4. As popular as Janet Grey probably was, it is a sad kind of fading into the background to the character. It is interesting hearing about Billy and Mindy before they show up in town. I knew there was friction between the Josh/Trish and Billy, but it doesn't always translate from the German.
  5. The '79 episodes seem to be in the vault already. The '83 ones don't seem to be. I would guess they are both from the first half of May. The Vanessa one has a promo for Barbara and Gunnar's wedding (John is planning revenge on someone). The Tony one also features Mark's funeral, and has a promo for Y*R's Nikki cheating on some husband (I got no idea who it is, or who she's cheating with), and Paul and April getting engaged(?).
  6. The ones from '79 probably were. But I'm not sure about 2 from 83. I'm nearly positive I've never saw either, at least in t their entirety. One has Tony talking Bea into getting rid of Tom's things. The other has Vanessa 's PI blackmailing her, leaving her flat broke. Yep. Me too.
  7. Asks quietly...someone is making sure some of these recently uploaded episodes are going to the vault, right?
  8. Well, it was lovely to hear Jerry, if not exactly see him. Damn, I wish that episode with Ross/Vanessa would turn up online. When did they stop doing the cast/crew singing the last show before Christmas? Does anyone know?
  9. SQQQUUUUEEEEEE....I LOVE devious Ross!!!! The last ten minutes or so have to be from 1980. And what is more awkward? Guys answering doors with only towels wrapped around their hips, or in a full bathrobe, and then sitting next to someone on a couch? I thought it was the first, but the second is hella nasty.
  10. Just caught his name---Bart Neilsen his last appearance would've been late April/early May 1983. He leaves town after blackmailing Vanessa out of her yearly income. If I ever find the actor's name, I'll be sure to post.
  11. India ran into Phillip when he faked his death in '90. It mimicked their first meeting, when he gave her a ride in the rain. And yeah, there was a point soon after he found out Dinah was his daughter where he and India were trying to maintain the girls' connection. She (has something to do) and ships Dorrie over to him for a sleepover. He finds it stressful.. ***SQQUEEEE****some 1983 episodes have been loaded. Vanessa's PI's name was Bart Nielsen! I've never known his name before!
  12. LOL...it's always strange listening to it in another language.
  13. Janet Grey has the same kind of really quiet character, and there is something so lovable about her. Maybe it was the "kid sister" kind of chemistry that she had with Lenore that just sold it, I don't know. "Listless" is a good word. Maybe it has something to do with being in scenes opposite Cindy Pickett, who is just so energized.
  14. What I wonder is if any other show had recently done a character going off their rocker story. Nevermind, just looked it up, they were on Loving at the end, so that chick going nuts and killing everyone. It does feel like a story grafted on to GL.
  15. Oh, my no. There is something about Lezlie Dalton that just grates on me. I get your point about having more than one regular as an attorney, but on the other hand, there wasn't really enough trials to justify it. Ross bounces all around in the '80's' from corporate lawyer to running Spaulding, to defense attorney. It's easier to hiss at the Hamilton Burgers if you're not emotionally invested in them. I'm trying to remember other shows that had more than one contract lawyer, and no one really pops to mind. Oh, duh...Tom and Jessica on ATWT.
  16. Maeve is not the most convincingly physical actress, but DAMN, the woman knew how to slap. That was why Holly went after Vanessa....just not watching Maureen's first crawl? RME. I wish this had boiled down to Vanessa/Holly.
  17. It's hard to imagine anyone flirting with Elizabeth. I wish more of "rotter" Ross was up. It's kind of fun seeing him scheme.
  18. When Alan and Rita are verging on their affair, the residences are also "next door". Which really doesn't make a lot of sense. Rita envied the millionaire next door? The Ed's house was never a shack.
  19. Tamara Tunie will get a Lead Actress nom.
  20. Helena and Justin leave about a month after Henry's heart attack. She has a very nice goodbye scene with him. Samantha might have mentioned her when she first arrived in town. But I'm sure it was only in passing. Justin...nope. There's very little of Justin's history mentioned on his return. He's reestablished as Ross' brother and Phillip's natural father, but that's about it.
  21. Uhm, no. Vanessa and Alexandra did not compete against each other. After the very early days of their introduction, the Chamberlains did not rock the power structure at Spaulding. There was a very brief period (prior to Alex's arrival) where Henry, Van and Quint controlled a majority of stock (Quint had independently bought stocks Diane Ballard controlled after her death) , and one of Alex's first moves was to get the Spauldings back into the lead. She and Warren Andrews found out that Vanessa's name was on papers admitting to getting a kickback if they got Alan to buy a company, Jocelyn Electronics. Both Henry and Vanessa were in on the scheme and they ended up blackmailing Alan into it with the knowledge of his affair with Rita. But when Vanessa realized that Quint was her half brother, she tried to ruin Quint and Henry's growing friendship (Quint had not told Henry he was his son) by altering the papers (removing Henry's name) and leaving it on Alan's desk, to make it look like Quint was trying to ruin her. Quint immediately caught on to her scheme and threatened to tell Henry what she'd done, trying to blackmail him out of Henry's life. Van knew that was a line she could not cross, and she quickly backed off, telling Henry she'd altered the documents in an effort to keep Henry's name in the clear. Alan fired her from Spaulding, and she was made to pay Spaulding back the $2million she and Henry had gained. It (along with being blackmailed by her own PI) effectively wiped her out financially, which led to her to look to marriage with Billy (Henry had promised her a half-million when she got married, the same amount he'd given Quint on his marriage to Nola). At the time, Vanessa was pregnant with Bill (and due to marital problems was out of the country). Alex implied that the SEC would start up an investigation and Van could wind up in jail. Henry and Quint signed over theirs and Vanessa's stocks and Henry was temporarily out of the company. There was a point when Phillip was looking to oust Alan from the company in '87 when Van and Alan were engaged where it could've come down to Henry choosing between Van and Spaulding, but that fizzled when Vanessa dumped Alan and went to Venezuela to look after Billy. When Roger was making moves on Spaulding, he engineered Vanessa's firing (he tape recorded her giving Billy a tip that Roger was sending over inspectors to the warehouse that Billy was making into a homeless shelter without the necessary permits.) Alex refused to back Vanessa, and Henry almost went to the papers to spill Spaulding secrets in a fit. Van talked him out of it. Van and Alex were always civil to each other, and Alex eventually brings Van back to Spaulding, and when Bev leaves, Alex turns over the running of Spaulding to Vanessa. Some of Bev's last scenes are with Maeve. I agree, it would've been an interesting situation, but Henry never would've gone against Vanessa. They are one of the best father/daughter duos in soaps.
  22. No, it was via Quint. He, Helena and Silas Crocker were all archeology students of a Professor Renfield (Renfield and his wife had befriended Quint and his mother in Mexico, and after Quint's mother's death, he lived with them). I think there was some triangle going on between Quint/Helena/Silas, and Silas decided to blow Quint up, but ended up killing Renfield instead. Quint blamed himself. Silas at some point decided to torture Quint, and kidnapped Nola. Helena was basically the ex-girlfriend who knew a lot of Quint's secrets and cattily annoyed Nola. After Helena accepted that Quint loved Nola, she moved on to Justin after Jackie's death. They moved to Arizona together when baby Samantha's asthma grew bad and the drier climate was recommended. She doesn't really do a lot outside the Quint plot. She ends up befriending Vanessa towards the end, and at one point Vanessa wants to discourage Henry and Bea's growing friendship by getting Helena to "date" him.
  23. I always loved Alan-Michael. Yes there were times when he was a royal PITA, but on the Spaulding scale, he was harmless. More of a scamp than a power mad meglomaniac.
  24. Positives I thought Nicole looked frackin' fabulous. Everyone sounded fabulous singing Joy to the World. That gave me some old school CBS Christmas vibes. Loved Shanice showing up at Ted's. She is a keeper Not Positive Why tell us how horrible and awkward Naomi and Chelsea's time at Bill and Hayley's was? Show us. Naomi has seriously become a big bummer. The whole blow up about the Mexico trip was stupid. The "competition" to give Vernon and Anita the "best" gift. Seriously? And if I hear another person gush about those damn ChelseaKat bags, I may throw up.
  25. Ok, just to clarify, the version with the commercial references the Republican convention starting the next week, July 14-17. It's really odd watching 79 episodes, and Ross schmoozing the eternally soft-spoken and naive Evie. She may have been the only completely nice girl he ever pursued.
