  1. That sounds great. I'm looking for something that seems like it could have aired at any time and I need to narrow it down to a specific week at least. Thank you!
  2. I'm looking for really detailed Jan/Feb 1986 recaps. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I don't seem to have those SODs handy.
  3. That story was awful. Goutman seemed to not want Bryce back as if that decision was forced onto him by someone. So they wrote Craig so awfully. The quad was boring and tedious. The day Craig gave Meg some drug to make her lose her baby was despicable writing which I assumed at the time was meant to destroy the character of Craig forever. And yet I felt sorry for CRAIG. Only Scott Bryce could pull that off. The audience should have hated him for doing that. ATWT just did not want a humanized Craig in the last 10 years. I saw him go from bad to reformed and yet still flawed, a multi-dimensional fascinating and rootable character. It was a brilliant Emmy worthy portrayal by Scott Bryce, and then to see Craig come back and be so snide and cartoonish was hard for me as a fan. I can understand why people liked Hunt in the role, especially if they never saw Craig before. Hunt was playing it exactly how ATWT wanted him to at the time. It just wasn't for me. Plus, aside from Sierra, Craig's relationships with Lucinda and Lily were some of my faves and they never even tried to do that justice.
  4. I watched all of Sept. 1979 and only saw Nancy get a phone call that Dan was dead. Either I totally missed it or he left town and we found out he died later. Does anyone remember this? I was lookin for Dan for the very first disc as a way to have a nice Stewart episode. I don't have anything to do with the packaging but my guess is any $$ spent on making it nicer/better is money/time/bandwidth taken away from producing more DVDs. I guess the market will determine what fans want more and SoapClassics will go with the feedback they get on that. I'm not sure what went into the Netherlands ATWT package but that one was done differently than the five other releases. Would you rather have six weeks between releases versus a month if the packaging was better? I have no clue what the options are or if it would be considered but just wondering how you prioritize that. With something like the five years of Dark Shadows set I would expect something really special in terms of packaging.
  5. No problem. In the end this is a dream thing to be working on so I am just appreciative of the opportunity and hoping it leads to more things for other daytime soaps--more merchandise, more streaming, revivals, etc.
  6. I would love that and maybe someday that would be online. Anything that get puts out needs good sales so we're in a niche market with niche stories/couples/characters and it gets a little tricky. What I would personally like to see (the oldest available material, characters like John Dixon, Mike Bauer) may not be the thing that gets the level of sales needed to make money. And if something doesn't sell it slows down the process for anything else in the future. Hopefully that made sense. This entire thing has been a great feeling out of the market and so far has exceeded expectations.
  7. Oh, it's no problem. Everyone needs to say what they think. I was surprised at this particular mail was from a CarJacker who said they hadn't even heard of some of these episodes. We could all debate which CarJack episodes should be included but I thought these were at least familiar to their fans. As an old school fan myself, I would love to really focus on the oldest material and rare episodes but the market and feedback is mostly going to determine the themes of the discs. With so much material the DVDs and streaming could go in all kinds of directions. It's going to be a great year!!
  8. Woo hoo, gI just got my first "these episodes suck" email! Seriously though, fan reaction to all these DVDs has been hugely positive. If fans weren't reacting so positively (and obviously buying) I doubt we'd be releasing a 5th DVD already. So the thanks goes to soap fans for these. Next month all five years of Dark Shadows is coming out in one set for around $600. Hopefully the success of SoapClassics and Dark Shadows this year will inspire the other producers/owners of classic soaps to release those as well.
  9. Look for the wine cellar episode as the freebie. It was so close to the compass episode in date that I went with the compass for the DVD but knew a lot of CarJack fans would like the wine cellar one as well (hopefully). Since we aren't editing the stories, we were going for some type of narrative arc over the 10 episodes concluding with their happy ending. I wasn't a huge ATWT late '90s fans in general but Michael & Maura are superb in these especially the Teague episode. And since they are whole episodes pretty much everyone appears at some point with lots of John, Hal, Holden, Lily, etc.
  10. Latest ATWT DVD out today: http://www.welovesoaps.net/2012/03/carjackdvd.html Lots of stuff in the works for 2012.
  11. David Forsyth. I was typing so fast I left off his name. It was a nice John and Sharlene reunion on the red carpet.
  12. Anna Holbrook was nominated for the 3rd Annual Indie Soap Awards which were held on Tuesday at New World Stages in New York. She brought former AW co-star as her date. Anna looks better than ever. Never ages and always great performances.
  13. You are right. That was his quote but he was director of CBS Daytime at the time. He moved to ATWT EP later.
  14. Got access to a bit of Whitney Houston on ATWT from 1984. I think this is on YouTube but rather blurry. http://www.welovesoaps.net/2012/02/whitneyatwt.html
  15. Thanks, Carl. I was looking through my old magazines for some articles on him but haven't found any yet.
  16. I got word last night Doug Stevenson passed away. http://www.welovesoaps.net/2011/12/dougstevenson.html Not sure of all the details yet. I was a big Sunny fan and remember working opposite her and Cissie.
  17. Loger, Inc. has released a thirty second teaser for the film, MANHATTANITES, which stars several daytime favorites including Ilene Kristen, Forbes March, David Fumero (all from "One Life to Live"), Aiden Turner, Jill Larson (both from "All My Children") and Lev Gorn ("As The World Turns") among others. The film was Co-Directed by Gregori J. Martin ("Scripts & Scruples") and Darnell Williams ("All My Children", "Guiding Light"). http://manhattanitesthemovie.com/trailer.htm
  18. Several SON posters are cast members of Scripts & Scruples. Ryan Chandler plays Clint Richards, a student at Hunter College, whose near death experiences of the last few months have left him a changed man. Drew Hamilton plays Henry Adler, an intern at Manhattan Monthly who is sleeping with Editor-in-Chief Blake Whitney and keeping the secret of Blake's true love's (Matt) fate - he's alive - to himself. Na'Vell Lee debuted today as Emmett Spector, an offbeat nurse at the Chelsea Psychiatric Hospital. Another SONer will join the cast soon in a key role. Stay tuned. http://scriptsandscruples.com
  19. So those in Canada saw episode 2? http://www.newswire.ca/en/releases/archive...6/21/c8906.html
  20. From Drudge: RATINGS UPSET: ABC's 'Grey's Anatomy' season opener out-rates CBS 'CSI'... 17.1 rating/25 share to 14.9 rating/22 share... ABC WINS THURSDAY NIGHT From Zap2It: At 9 p.m., the "Grey's Anatomy" season premiere, 15.7/23, scored a rather shocking win over CBS' "CSI," 13.5/20, which has dominated the timeslot for several years. "Deal or No Deal" was a distant third for NBC at 6.5/10. "Celebrity Duets" slumped to a 2.4/4 for FOX. A "Supernatural" rerun on The CW trailed.
  21. Saw Match Point tonight.
  22. It was Brokeback for me too, last Friday. And it may be the next movie I see too because it was so amazing.
  23. The tension is going to build fast so you should get some good scenes to play. Based on the time I have to produce both RC and S&S, I never get to tell as much story as I normally might. S&S airs five days a week. I'm constantly trying to figure out ways to speed up RC or make the episodes more self-contained. It's a fun, creative process. I'm supposed to be interviewed by SOD this week about both shows so I'll let you know if I'll have anything in an upcoming issue.
  24. Hi CSW: Great idea for a blog. How long have you watched Days? Would your fan fic focus on the whole cast or just a certain story?
