  1. Season 3 is excellent from start to finish - the last 2 eps are really good! My favourite moment of the season was I also liked the Steve/Robin and Steve/Dustin pairings. Yeah, season 2 wasn't as good as season 1 or 3. The
  2. Another fun, bright and colourful video. Taylor co-directed again. I hope this trend continues. I think she could be a great director one day. Aw, Katy and Taylor again. Hope there's a collaboration coming. I suspect there's going to be quite a few hamburger and fries costumes at her concerts - just hope I won't be beside on one of them because I'm going to need space to move/dance. LOL I admit, I don't know who half those people are in the video. LOL One of the favourite parts of the video were the drag queens dressed up as (from left to right): Ariana Grande, Lady Gaga, Adele, Cardi B, Taylor, Beyonce, Katy Perry, Nikki Minaj). "And we see you over there on the internet / Comparing all the girls who are killing it / But we figured you out / We all know now we all got crowns /You need to calm down." I also liked the part at the end where the two homophobes ditch their signs and walk away from the other protesters - people can realize their mistakes, learn, and change.
  3. No matter what she does, there's always going to be criticism, even when she's doing really good things. There's always going to be something to pick apart. It's the takedown culture we live in now. She's decided to more political now in support of the LGBTQ community, more than she's ever been before (she's always been, but now it's in a big way). There's the criticism of her being "too late" or "too much" or "extra" about her support, or doing for sales. Is she going to stop her support once this album cycle is over? Hell no. This is just beginning.....and everyone has to start somewhere. Taylor Swift Donates $113,000 to Tennessee Equality Project to Fight Anti-LGBTQ Bills Taylor Swift Urges Senate to Pass Equality Act in Letter to Tennessee Senator Petition to Support the Equality Act This is something that she truly cares about and is now using her voice to try and get things changed for the better. I'm always going to be proud of her, and this just makes me love her even more.
  4. The album title is okay, I guess. I would've preferred something different. LOL Maybe it'll grow on me. Excited that there's going to be 18 songs - the most she's ever had on an album. Love the opening beats of YNTCD. The song is another Joel Little production (with Taylor as co-producer). I have a feeling that the lyrics "Cause shade never made anybody less gay" will be one of the loudest lyrics yelled out at her concerts. I also like the progression of "step on my gown" to "step on his gown" to "step on our gown." I do really like the song, but like Me!, it's not going to be one of my favourites.
  5. Federal vs Nadal is what gets people (non-hardcores) to watch - like me. Too bad the match will start at 4am my time. Hope the final will the Joker vs one of these guys. Don’t care about who’s left on the women’s side.
  6. Toups replied to dragonflies's topic in Music & Movies
I'm going to give him a chance. Funny thing is he's currently filming a movie that Christopher Nolan is directing. Just looking at his IMDB, it looks like he hasn't done a big movie since the last Twilight movie, choosing to do smaller non-tentpole films.
  7. Fantastic editing in this tribute video:
  8. I was satisfied with the ending. I predicted a Stark would end up with the Throne, I just didn't think it would be Bran. LOL I see a future movie with Arya's adventure out west. If Dany had to die, I hoped it would be Jon who kills her, so I was happy with what happened there. Fantastic scene with Drogon nudging Dany, realizing she's dead, burns down the Iron Throne, and then takes off with her body. I do wish that there were more episodes, in seasons 7 and 8, so things could've been fleshed out more. I loved Cersei so I would've liked to see more of her this season, and wish she got a better death. Despite the criticisms and faults that show has received for these last couple of seasons, it still will go down as one of the best dramas of all time - when we see those lists (Top 10, Top 20, etc), GOT will be on it, and rightfully so.
  9. But maybe it could've been Jon AND Arya. To not have Jon be part of TNK's demise was a let down. They've had two big battles and we waited so long for their final showdown.
  10. LOL at that moment when the cat handler says, "He is available." 😂 Then she shows him to her parents like it's her child. Such sweet moments.
  11. About yesterday’s ending.... Night battles.....it can be hard to see at times. I prefer day battles. 😄
  12. Taylor's top 3: Me!: 65.2 million Look What You Made Me Do: 43.2 million Bad Blood: 20.1
  13. Rolling Stone: Taylor Swift’s ‘ME!’: What the Hell Is Going on Here?
  14. Funny thing is, the video made think of the sitcom because there's a lot of attention to detail, a lot of inside stuff the fans will get, the call backs, and clues. It's more than just a video to the hardcores. LOL. It adds another element of it being a game, or a puzzle for us. She knows us. I love it! The "me-eeeee.......whoooo-whooo-whooo" is stuck in my mind. I really how I put the song with WANEGBT and Shake It off - lead singles that don't have the best lyrics, but they're catchy and fun. It's certainly a lot better than the previous lead single: LWYMMD (though the video is still my all time favourite of hers). One of my favourite parts is "Spelling it fun" because loves scrabble and won a spelling bee competition when she was younger. She's such a dork. LOL Yeah, the music production reminds me a bit of Shake It Off - I think it's the drum beats/marching band. Another production aspect I really like is the "And there's a lot of cool chicks out there" part - the voice is not as loud and there's a bit of distortion. The song was produced my Joel Little. I really like this work with Lorde. This is Taylor's first time working with him. It was also Taylor's first time working with Dave Meyers who co-directed the video with Taylor (her first). "‘ME!’ is a song about embracing your individuality and really celebrating it, and owning it. I think that with a pop song, we have the ability to get a melody stuck in people’s heads, and I want it to be one that makes them feel better about themselves."
  15. Can't wait!! I'm very surprised we're getting new music this early. I'm just so used to the Big Machine Records schedule with a single in late summer and album release in the fall. But now she's with a new record label, things are already different. Promotional wise, I hope she's going to promote the album this time, unlike her last album. LOL. As a fan, of course I want to see more photoshoots, interviews (newspaper, magazines, tv shows) and performances. She barely did any promo for reputation. I don't think it'll be the massive promotional push that 1989 got though. I just want maybe 80% of that! If the fan theory based on this photo is correct, the new album will be somewhere in between county-pop (first 4 albums on the left) and pop (last 2 albums on the right). If it means she's going back to more guitars and drums, I might FINALLY get my pop-rock album that I've been waiting for. With all the pastels/colours/softness of her Instagram pictures, and her Elle Magazine piece (What I've Learned before turning 30*), it might suggest that the new album will have a lot happy songs and love songs. * Lesson 25: I remember people asking me, “What are you gonna write about if you ever get happy?” There’s a common misconception that artists have to be miserable in order to make good art, that art and suffering go hand in hand. I’m really grateful to have learned this isn’t true. Finding happiness and inspiration at the same time has been really cool. We'll find out in 5 days!
  16. Really excited about those Canadian teens! 👏🙌 They might even make me pay attention to non Grand Slam tournaments. I’m still a bit sad about Genie Bouchard. She had it all for about a year but could never get back to that level. She was a marketer’s dream but she just couldn’t win matches.
  17. Saw the Kerber "drama queen" comment. Talk about being a sore loser. She couldn't handle getting beat by an 18 year old twice in 6 days. Bianca had to retire today due to that injury. Guess she wasn't faking it, eh, Kerber.
  18. Congrats to Andresscu! That was big for Canadian tennis - winning a premier tournament like this. This moment was awesome to see. It was so candid. We got to see her admit that she's struggling, but more importantly, we got to see how much she wanted to win. I've never seen it before. When did they allow coaches to talk their player? I always thought it was dumb that coaches weren't allowed to coach their players during the game. It was like out of a movie or TV show where a coach gives a good pep talk and the player/team goes out in wins. Bianca battled through injury, the heat, and losing 3 match points where she could've easily mentally shut down but she got through that. And she's only 18. What a fighter. On March 18, 2018, she was ranked 196. One year later she's ranked 24. Keep it up! "I want this so bad!" You know how inspiring that's going to be for people, especially those girls in Canada playing tennis?
  19. Damn. Was hoping he’d recover from his stroke. 😥 Loved 90120 as a teen. RIP Luke.
  20. Box Office: 'Green Book' Scores Biggest Post-Oscar Bump in 8 Years
  21. Yeah, I agree with what you're saying, that ratings also depends the type of movies that are nominated, movies that general audiences will go see. Also, look at the release dates for those three big movies. BP: February 16. BR: November 2. ASIB: October 5. Lots of time for people to check out those movies. Oscars 2020: How Netflix Plans to Win Best Picture With Scorsese's Mob Drama
  22. Really? That's ridiculous. How are people suppose to care about an awards show if they haven't seen those nominated movies? I think that also plays a factor in ratings. For me, I saw 4 out of the 8 Best Picture nominees, and 3 of them were in the last week before the Oscars.
  23. I like the idea of movies from streaming companies having to spend a certain period of time (2 months maybe?) in the theatres, before moving them to their streaming platform, for it to be considered for the Oscars. Also, what about moving the Oscars (and other awards) back a month? It would give people more time to see more movies, especially those that are released just before the cut off date in December.
  24. Just glad it wasn’t Black Panther.
  25. Yes! Olivia Colman with the upset! Once again her speech was great and funny. I love her British kookiness and humour.
