  1. What a sudden and abrupt recast! Clayton Norcross was seen in #618 and the story of Rige's shooting was on the brink of being revisited and hitting its climax. It's like the worst possible moment to recast... Speaking of botched up last-minute-changes: #616 was all over the place. Not just by continuity standards: it was already EVENING/NIGHT for several episodes and suddenly it is bright DAYLIGHT and Sally (yet another fabulous apparance of Darlene CoOnley BTW!) & crew visit the QUEEN MARY. Problem: it is still the same night as Brooke&Thorne continue their conversation from #615. Thorne then goes to a bar in the middle of the day (??? it still seems to be at night ???) to have his first encounter with Macy while Stephanie and Ridge chat by the Forrester swimming pool in bright daylight. Also: suddenly a mysterious woman is seen for the first time as a dictor takes off the bandages of his patient which probably would not be done at 11 pm. It's like they have hastily thrown in the beginning of the Angela story as a last minute rewrite as well.
  2. Right! It was like the Donna story but a tad more entertaining. And then, kaboof, dropped again.
  3. Not sure whether Bill Bell had any actual plan for Margo/Storm or if he always wanted Mick Savage to enter the scene for Kristen. Margo's love life from 1989-1990 is sure a mixed bag and even in re-watching not everything is adding up perfectly. I feel really sorry for Bill who is definitely one of the many male characters on this show to never get enough storyline material that he deserved. He is mostly a prop to Margo and sounding board to Caroline. What a shame: they shoudl done more with BIll&Stephanie... If anyone is interested: this is the wedding chapel in #609 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wayfarers_Chapel
  4. The price is pretty cool. Might be just one series, but a lot of content at the same time.
  5. Wow - that was unexpected. All the taping material. Yet, they do not stream any classic Y&R???
  6. Sooo cool! Looking forward to watch all those shows.
  7. Grant and Taylor's friendship was acknowledge a lot until he entered Macy's orbit. And I assume Tylo's exit for Melrose Place killed any plans for Grant&Taylor. Grant had a fling with Michael instead and was soon romancing Brooke with frequent Country Music Club visits..
  8. Yay!!! More of 1993 - the paternity test is coming closer... PS: you've got a PM!
  9. I think Susan Flannery just had her summer vacation and to explain her absence amidst all the Forrester related drama, the writers came up with eh family emergency. I think many years later during the same time of the year, they had a similar cop-out for Stephanie to go MIA for ca. 3 weeks. Mark's health scare was indeed a much bigger event than I remembered, probably because the climax was resolved within one episode. Still, it was a great plot with interesting dynamics for Bill/Margo/Clarke/Kristen. One thing that just will not change for me: Mick is just sooo unnecessary of a character - cannot stand him.
  10. Ridge said Grandma and in the same sentence Aunt Lorraine - so I’d take it that this was a reference to Stephanie‘s sister. But it’s not the only option to read this remark.
  11. As we are getting closer to a) Jeff Trachta's arrival b) Queen Mary Fashion Show c) plus an OTT returnof an actress in AmySIlence's uploads in Episode #601 we were treated to the first out of out maybe two (?) mentions that Stephanie has living family relatives prior to the 2006 arrival of Betty White & Alley Mills. Interestingly enough, Stephanie's sister was refereed to as Lorraine in this episode and her mom had no first name, yet.
  12. One was the Spring 1989 fashion show... About 70% of the entire episode was muted
  13. I think "Amy" has to mute pop music occasionally due to copyright issues. It happened only twice in her uploads so far, I think. It is annoying but I'll take what I get. 'cause no: I haven't been able to get onto the Dutch videoland.nl site. @slick jones Thanks as always! Really bizarre that the actor recived credit with a full character name, yet Caroline never adressed him by it. LOL
  14. For some reason in episode #573 Caroline consults with a divorce attorney who has a lot of dialogue. Yet, he did not have a name. LOL Any idea who the actor is? Judging by the closing credits a few episodes later, it could be hmi: https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0420415/
  15. 90s Phyllis was PURE gold. I loved her campiness with Joani and she even made Danny and Cricket interesting and dare I say enjoyable. When Stafford came back in 2000, Kay Alden fleshed her out pretty well. It was a progressed Phyllis who still had some spark, but was no longer suuuuper desperate. Then, ca. 2005 someone decided that THE STAFFORD (c) was the greatest thing ever and her acting tics started to take over the show. That's why Gina Tognoni was such a divine twist of fate, suddenly Phyllis was a likeable character again.
  16. What a treat! I remember both years (haven’t seen 1997 I think?). merry Christmas!.
  17. WOW - this is really cool. Hopefully it is the beginning of a trend. I think the AOL video service with P&G was much too early in the streaming days. With content getting rare (due to everyone opening his own service) maybe some classic soaps/episodes will make it to the streaming heyday after all!?
  18. I don't think we will ever get confirmation, let's just be happy that they continue to post the show online. For some odd reason previous reruns in various Euorpeans countries did not last longer than May 1992 episodes, but it might have been just coincidence. For now, I'm beyond thrilled that day ater day more classic are ubloaded by videoland.nl and more improtantly AmySilence... It's been excatly three years ago that I discovered the MarekLogan YouTUbe channel and watched the exact same episodes hat just pop up on Amy Silence's channel - but with the irritating Polish dubbing. It's a great to relive that.
  19. She does really look like her. Tried to compare the voice but I couldn't say that they are identical. Then, she seemed to have various tones of speak during Silk Stalking which is available on YouTube in its entirety. Judging by her IMDb credit, Kapture was already working back then, so I'm convinced by your unilateral feedback that it is her. Thanks!
  20. Another one: May 1989 - Kristen's former roommate: Bonnie Blaisdale, neé Barrett Any clue who the actress is?
  21. I was shocked to see those scenes many years ago because they have been around forever in Italian. It's a really bold story climax, yet the built up does not hold up to classic Bill Bell standards. It's like a writer's strike story finished within 5 seconds after the strike has ended which is kinda sad. That said; it's getting reallllllly wicked eventually and perfectly over the top in ca. 2 months' time.
  22. The next episode is GOLD and yet strange because the most important scene happens halfway through it and not at the end.
  23. This is actually not true: Shauna is the ulatimate social climber. A trashy blonde who fantasized about RIdge whilst reading a gossip magazine... Just in the past couple of years we had Quinn, Nicole, Ma&Pa Avant, Flo and Dr. B/Zoe as the have-not. Unfortuntaely, this show is always making them rich wayyy too fast, super fast when it comes to wardrobe and they eventually just marry/fall in love witha a FOrrester. At least Zoe recently mentioned that she is broke after beign fired from FC. I agree with you to the extent that it would be nice if SOMEONE would be working his way up (Quinn actually quite good for several years as a solo character until she met Eric...).
  24. Macy will not meet Thorne until the Summer, around the time of the Queen Mary fashion show... Sally is indeed a magical character in those old old days. Every scene or storyline she is in feels like must-see-TV.
  25. Episode 518 has one the (!) all-time (!) dumbest Ridge-moments. I had forgotten about, but it's just un-freaking-believable. The writing is pretty sloppy in March/April 1989... like something you would expect from writer's strike material, yet it occurs on-screen more than 6 months later, so it's hard to put the blame on someone besides Bill Bell, Bradley and Jack Smith. LOL I won't name sth. in particular for those still looking forward to watch it: The Angela story hits its climax and there is more than episode which feels uneven and does not make the most sense. The storyline has a sudden shift which is ok. The dialogue is ok as well, but the pacing/breakdowns of the episodes are terrible at times. Plot points just happen without any connection to another in single episodes - it's really bizarre. Apart from that: it's high time to enjoy the ride because it's getting really good and juicy down the road...
