  1. I've had a running soap in my head for the last 20 years. It's about the trials and tribulations of the Douglas family, an upper middle-class black family in the deep south. It touches on class, colorism, abandonment, and a bunch of other stuff. And it's all in my noggin, haven't written a word down. I just add to the story when I'm bored or stressed, I'm mentally telling stories about the grandchildren of the original family members now.
  2. You're right! Thank you! It's definitely Tiffany and not Adrienne.
  3. In the 1/26/2000 episode in the vault where Rick finds out Little Eric isn't his there's a montage of Rick and Kimberly set to a song. Is that Adrienne Franz singing? It sounds like her and would be hilarious if it is.
  4. How the hell was Y&R writing great stuff like this 40 years ago?? But now it's like no one can have sex unless they're married or tortured? It's so weird how assbackwards things have become.
  5. Wasn't Jenny all of 18 when she died? Why are they talking about babies?! And yes, Adam is super creepy in that scene. The 80s synth is top notch though.
  6. That's one thing I've liked about these classics. Danny and Chris got to be just a couple. Yeah that involved them recapping the plot a lot but at least like you said it wasn't all about their romantic troubles.
  7. Brad had Colleen with Tracey and then he and Ashley lost their son, Robert.
  8. It caught on with young people because...frankly it looked like a Saturday morning sitcom but with worse writing. I was 15 when Passions premiered, I thought the theme song was fantastic and Jesse Metcalfe quite possibly changed the trajectory of my life but it was brightly lit garbage. It was just so mind-numbingly repetitive. The same conversations day after day, month after month. Characters constantly talking out loud to themselves recapping the plot. The show treated the audience like idiots. It was actually insulting after a while. That's So Raven should not have had more nuance than a daytime drama.
  9. Naw, I watched it from the beginning too and it was always bad to me. Repetitive dumb dialogue, sitcom lighting, bad acting, terrible plots. It's the first soap I ever saw premiere and I was so disappointed. I spent a lot of hours in the summer of 99 trying to get into this show.
  10. I swear I read that she played a prostitute.
  11. I've been watching so many clips from that channel and you're right, the music and production values are incredible. When did AMC's look and score go into the dumps? 2006?
  12. I find it so weird when soap opera actors do that. They were ON a soap, you know people don't act that way, why are you perpetuating that outdated idea?
  13. Phew that was so good. I just watched the Barber family drama. Lillie Belle was just wicked! Love her. I want to know what happened after this. Olivia was so sweet in her earlier appearances, when did she become such a harridan? Was it after Nathan's death?
  14. Is this Kristian Alfonso? I feel like it is but I'm not sure. It's from 1981.
  15. Mmmm meeting that quota of one. Thanks for sharing your story @mikelyons. As a black man it really hurts to see how little a genre that I love respects us.
  16. She came back out of respect to her co-star and the fans.
  17. It's not her fault you can't read, dear.
  18. I can't believe she's almost 50. It just doesn't make sense. On The Good Wife I recall that she was meant to be the same age as Cary, who was 26. Renee was 40 at the time. Bless her skin.
  19. Jesus Christ. Sassy. Sassy. VR posted this in reply to someone on her Instagram.
  20. I always thought Palmer and Erica were close. Their stories didn't intersect much outside of Opal but they both lit up when they saw each other.
  21. Buzz and Reva were married? How did the set survive?! But really, I had no idea and I watched the show for a few years. They didn't act like exes at all. Their paths rarely crossed when I watched.
