I'm sure all of us are grateful to the Angels for what has been able to be provided thus far. Thank you thank you thank you! In "good" news, albeit it will take some time, but I did some rough calculations with the official channel on YouTube putting three new classic episodes up per calendar day (21 per week) and VL putting up 2 per weekday (10 per week), that sometime in late December 2023, the official channel on YouTube will OVERTAKE VL's episodes (that is, the episode number VL will be up to in December 2023 - around #2460) - so if you have patience we will get to 1993 and have the show ON TAP, at three episodes per calendar day on the official YouTube channel!!! In good quality, and without graphics or subtitles - plus some bonus sponsors after the opening credits! Personally, I'm up to #945 in my re-watch, and can only fit in an episode per day, so the official channel on YT will catch up to me in late October this year - meaning I can switch to watching those, and if their promise to upload all the seasons is kept, then I need never run out of "new" classic episodes to watch. And I will have to think hard about whether I want to up my viewing to 3 a day at that point! Despite that, I'm hopeful that someone can help out those who are presently up to date in the meantime x

271 and 283 have been replaced on YouTube, with 30 minute versions with black chunks for commercial placeholders. Better than the mess that was uploaded originally. They weren't deliberate cuts, just faulty uploads. If you dragged the timer along the bottom for the original uploads, you could see that the full episodes were there, you just couldn't watch them. You can't check that now they've been replaced, but that was the case, just faulty uploads, no deliberate cutting. People complained in the comments for these episodes, so thankfully TPTB took notice and replaced.

TPTB have said they plan to upload them all, which is wonderful news! Especially because it won't take them long to overtake VL. The only bummer is that most of the YT uploads are inferior quality to the ones in the Vault, however don't carry the Dutch subtitles. The YT versions also are generally in full from what I can see, whilst Amy's versions would often have 5 seconds missing at the start, music muted for copyright, and the end credits regularly altered/cut, possibly to bypass YT copyright. Of course, depending on what the Angels were able to rip in terms of quality, there can be a lot of variance in the quality of the uploads since Amy stopped at 750. So we probably need to question whether we would rather maintain better quality episodes in the Vault, or inferior quality but at least complete (and without banners and subtitles)? It would free up some space (as long as you got rid of the originals) as the YT episodes are much, much smaller file sizes. Food for thought!!

I'm watching around 880 and the Ben Maclaine actor has been added and removed randomly. It's very noticeable as he is the first actor listed. That's just an example of the hiccups at times. Joanna Johnson was left for a while in the closing credits after Caroline died, whilst her image was removed immediately after she died in the opening titles. Other times, they have used the actor as the character eg Scott Clifton played by Liam Spencer. At the moment, Kimberlin Brown is listed BEFORE Darin Brooks, and has been since she returned. Fire the interns!!!

The show has always been sloppy at removing cast from the end and start credits. Look how long it took for a Jack Wagner, Lesley Anne Down to be removed - and Hunter Tylo more recently.

I coincidentally looked him up on IMDB earlier today, and saw he died 5 years ago. Had no idea. Yes, they have a Story of Breacon playlist up and running now. Good clear images too!

For a little while there it was counting that folder as having 25 files, so I thought perhaps it was like ghosting, there but not there. Then it went back to 23 files. So you probably did upload but somehow it failed. Thanks so much for re-uploading!!!

4.30pm has been it’s main timeslot in Australia for quite some time now, however it’s had a variety of timeslots here. It started at 1pm following Santa Barbara. After a couple of years they both got axed due to poor ratings. There was an outcry for B&B’s reinstatement, so it returned late at night at around 10.30pm…it must have done some OK numbers for that time (or they got complaints), as it was then moved back to an afternoon slot of 3pm, where they even showed double episodes for a while (as we started 8 months after the US did). From there if memory serves, it may have even gone back to 1pm for a period before it got moved to 4.30pm, where it’s rated pretty well for its timeslot (it even gets an encore the following weekday at 7.30am!). They also trialled it at 6pm over the summer a few years back where it surprisingly bombed…I thought it might have done well there picking up an evening audience, but up against the News on other channels, it just didn’t succeed and was moved back to 4.30pm, where it’s stayed ever since. Viewing numbers have come done ever since they started fast tracking the episodes to 10play, the network’s on demand service. We get it at the moment at 9am AEDT here on 10play, the time just depends on daylight saving both here and in the US, so sometimes we get it at 7am and other times of the year at 8am.

I also picked up this time around that Caroline treated Thorne quite horribly too, stringing him along for months on end without a sex life while fantasising about Ridge. I think my youth and inexperience of life back in the late 80s blinded me from that side of Caroline. I find most of them uninteresting…especially now. Deacon is the saving grace of men on the show at the moment.

I adored OG Caroline the first time around, rooted for her against Brooke. This time around I saw the nasty side of her, which shocked me. She treated Brooke quite poorly (some deserved of course), and the way she spoke to Stephanie sometimes made my jaw drop. Really rude, high and mighty princess. This time around, I’ve been rooting for Brooke, even though I knew what would happen with Ridge. I guess after 34 years of watching Brooke, she had gained my loyalty due to the time spent with her compared to the little time with Caroline in comparison. So my view of Caroline did change. Although I still cried a little when she died a week ago in my re-watch! 😭 Oh and I don’t remember thinking Jake MacLaine was anything special looks-wise, but OMG he is gorgeous this time around! Maybe I did find him attractive, but I just can’t remember! Easily one of the best looking men in the show’s history. Hubba hubba! 🤣
