  2. Special election for Virginia's 4th Congressional District, for the U.S. House of Representatives. Democrat Donald McEachin was reelected Nov. 8, 2022 but died Nov. 28, 2022. Special election to replace him: Feb. 21, 2023. Virginia State Senator (Democrat) Jennifer McClellan won. 3. My impression had been this: Esme *was* the hook at the beginning. At some point Heather jumped in and took over (without Esme's knowledge). Heather killed at least one person when Esme had an observable alibi, as a way to draw suspicion away from Esme. Meanwhile Esme got pregnant and couldn't do it anymore anyhow.
  4. Quoting @j swift "Filed under it will never happen, how refreshing would it be for Nicole to remark on her age, and be concerned about how much longer she'll be able to rely on her sexual appeal to get out of sticky situations? Rather than, continue to be written a vixen whose only assets are her body rather than her brains and experience. I'd love for her to be more of mentor to Gabi, and advise her not to make the same errors she made at that stage in her life." My reply: What? It's been a long time since Nicole relied only on her sexual appeal to get out of sticky situations. It's been many years since she's been written as a vixen whose only assets are her body rather than her brains and experience! Nicole is charming and attractive; but she's mostly written as having a big heart and being quite intelligent - with her main flaw being that she messes up sometimes due to being insecure. And she had begun to overcome some of her insecurities and showed character growth a few years ago -- when she used her investigative reporter instincts to figure out some of the convoluted plot about baby Mackenzie. There was something related to all of that which she told Eric about as soon as she learned it, instead of hiding it from him out of insecurity. She periodically falls back into insecurity, but doesn't stay there long. And in the past few weeks (offscreen of course) she has helped at DiMera meetings. (This is mentioned in conversation by other characters). She saved the day with savvy negotiations when EJ was disoriented from being drugged. I liked that Nicole was a mentor to Allie when young adult Allie first arrived on canvas. Gabi seems to be written more as the vixen sometimes now, but not really. I think she's just driven and motivated and ... impulsive! She would do whatever to get what she wants. Back in 2014, Kate and Sami were written as Gabi's mentors, which wasn't helpful, LOL. I don't know how a Nicole/Gabi dynamic would work, but it's an interesting idea.
  5. It seems the next week of episodes are a single Salem day, per the daily spoilers. The status of Wendy and Allie's apartment is addressed on Feb 28, and Sonny is being wished farewell by other Salem resident on March 3. (Maybe that farewell is by videochat during his journey, or maybe he's still in Salem, but either way it's March 3)

  7. kelligiddish Verified this is a picture from my first month of filming on SVU in 2012- richard belzer- you classed up the joint with your ‘big dick belzer’ jokes, you gave me a crash course in refinement, an education in show business, you imbued a procedural with the gonzo spirit somehow, “ding, ding it’s fun”, and i truly loved you. i hope they’re blowing your mind wherever you are now confirming truths you always suspected, and i sure as hell know you are blowing theirs-
  8. Castmates from Homicide Life on the Street
  9. If anyone messes with Douglas, he'll figure it out eventually, and speak truth. Always.
  10. Video made in July 2022 just before Beyond Salem 2 aired. Not sure if this is geoblocked? you might need a VPN.
  11. Cady guested in the Law&Order SVU episode that aired Feb. 16. (SVU is filmed in New York.) Cady just did an interview about her SVU eppy, her current arc on DAYS, and her work at the theater in New York. https://www.givememyremote.com/remote/2023/02/15/law-order-svu-dutch-tears-cady-mcclain-days-of-our-lives-return/
  12. Cady doesn't seem to want to work in L.A. full time. She's the artistic director of a theater in New York and is fully committed to that. When she decided to do that, it seemed that Missy Reeves might return to Days eventually on an ongoing basis. (I don't know what's happening with Missy now.) Cady's LinkedIn profile says she started that at the theater in January 2022. Edit to clarify, Missy had come back to Days for an arc at that time. Cady and Jon Lindstrom (her husband) have residences in New York and Calif. She can work on Days sometimes because Jon's on GH, but from their instagrams you can see they periodically spend time in New York. Jon plays two major characters on GH and he's been there for decades, but he's not on contract, so I guess he likes flexibility, too. The Cady situation is different from that of Ali Sweeney, but there are some similarities. Sweeney's focus is that she acts in and produces lots of Hallmark movies, which are usually filmed in Canada. She's willing to stop by Days between movies. The six-month tape-to-air gap allows for some flexibility for shortterm returns, or if someone has to reschedule their scenes due to COVID exposure, or if they are using a special set for a story arc. I doubt they could write invested longterm story for Jennifer or Sami - if the characters are in a pairing or pairings because they'd have to write around the actresses' schedules - even with the flexibility of the tape/air gap. It would make romances seem disjointed. I think they can allow pop-ins if someone's not in a pairing. But if someone is in a pairing but unavailable, it's hard to give the couple airtime. They tried to accommodate Chandler working fulltime in Georgia, by arranging for him to tape a Days arc when he had a few days off from work. He said he had a workaround where he sometimes brought work with him to LA - in that he got up very early in the morning and worked remotely from LA on his laptop, and then went to the studio to film all day, but it made for very long days working both jobs. When he did that, it allowed his taping arcs to be a little longer - to squeeze in a few more episodes. But he couldn't work both jobs the same day for extended periods of time. I'm glad they tried find ways to accommodate Chandler but it still made it difficult to do a full WilSon storyline. Back to Cady. I'm glad she's available sometimes, but I just don't know what the show can do with the character of Jennifer in larger storylines.

  14. The Teriah wedding was at the Top of the Tower. Noah designed their wedding decor. He borrowed some of his own ideas to create his "Glam Club" which is at the top of the Grand Phoenix. Devon sold the GCAC a while back. But the GCAC hotel rooms are still rarely but occasionally used a few times (but no lobby or restaurant or gym). Sometimes characters stay there if they want to be under the radar. Those hotel rooms were used when Phyllis owned the Grand Phoenix and someone didn't want to interact with her. I think Kyle paid for Diane to stay at the GCAC. The GCAC rooftop pool and bar (which is named the Dive Bar) was most recently used several times in summer 2022. Characters are shown there, but not in the rest of the building.
  15. Thanks. I knew it was business-related but I didn't remember exactly how. TSJ's first airdate was Sept. 28.
  16. Writer and producer for Homicide Life on the Street and for SVU:
  17. I read a lot of that twitter thread. Russia apologists and shills, neonazis, transphobes, and other random horrible people. Singing folksongs to stop supporting Ukraine. Gross. I had to stop reading.
  18. The Hollywood Reporter quoted a friend of Belzer's: “He had lots of health issues, and his last words were, ‘F*ck you, motherf*cker’ ”. Chris Meloni on instagram said: "Ur last words have helped make ur passing easier to take."
  19. ROFL. That really is the default description. And there never are any stakes.
  20. Tucker had been trying to get to know Devon and Devon's son Dominic, and Devon had begun to allow it. Tucker seemed to want to help out with Chancellor-Winters. Devon eventually decided that Tucker really only wanted the money/power/whatever and so Devon cut off contact.
  21. In the Feb. 16 episode of SVU, Fin told the new guy Bruno all about Munch. There was quite a bit of dialog about how Munch had mentored Fin. The episode included a ceremony honoring all of Fin's years at SVU, as well as him solving a new case, but Fin took the time to pay tribute to Munch. And three days later, Belzer passes away?
