I’ve said it before in other ways, but adding to the silver linings that @slick jones mentioned above, yes it’s an umbrella story that has dragged out for way too long now, but the usage of the vets in the Peter/Cyrus saga (Laura, Scotty, Anna, even Bobbie to an extent) has been exceptional. This is the GH I know and remember. It was funny seeing Cam go through exactly what Jason had, and then finally overhearing the truth about Peter as he was coming back in. I had been asking myself for weeks what the point was of Ghost Zander appearing to Cam, and I now believe it was some element of foreshadowing for this part of the story. I’m now curious about where this will go - I have it in my head that Cam will somehow stumble upon Jason and Britt, but rather than go off on Jason, now that he knows the truth, he will ask Jason to let him help take care of Peter (I hope Jason has the wisdom to tell Cam to back away if that happens). And yes, more Scotty and Liesl! I honestly have not been this excited about GH as a whole for a very long time now - please continue the great momentum!

I got texted by the NHS here in England this week to let me know that my turn has come - however that means I now need to get unblinded on the Johnson & Johnson trial that I’m currently on. I have the unblinding appointment this coming Thursday, so fingers crossed I was in the vaccination group rather than the placebo group!

This is good - many little sub circles forming to get rid of Peter and Cyrus... Anna/Valentin Britt/Jason Scotty/Liesl Laura/Carly/Ava The last time Laura and Ava teamed up was during the Ryan saga. And obviously we’ve spoken already about Scotty and Liesl linking up, and perhaps the greater possibility of the Anna/Valentin/Liesl/Scotty quad. As much of a mess GH has been, this is the only one of the 4 soaps that has me hooked right now. That alone should make it #2 rather than B&B.

Scotty and Liesl are both at their best as schemers - if the writers had any imagination, there could be plenty for them to do, both as a couple and as very good friends.

I don’t know about anyone else, but I’m kinda digging the Scotty Baldwin/Liesl Obrecht union happening here. For me, probably one of the few bright spots in the whole Peter umbrella storyline. My ultimate hope - we get an unlikely foursome of Anna/Valentin/Scotty/Liesl to officially join forces and somehow stop Peter. As much as this storyline has just draaaaaaged on, it’s resulted in the mixing of characters that we never would have previously seen. And I totally give GH props for doing that.

Ah I wondered where that X had come from all of a sudden. Thanks for addressing that so quickly. I totally understand that ad revenue is a financial source for the boards, but surely it’s doable without interfering with the very mechanisms that allow us to post effectively in the first place!

I have been thinking recently about what it would be like for Amanda Setton and Rena Sofer to interact as mother and daughter (IMO, it would be dynamite). It’s a shame Rena is currently on B&B otherwise she would fit right in with the action right now on GH (Brook Lynn’s fake pregnancy, Ned/Olivia - especially her old friendship with Olivia from the Bensonhurst days).

Hi @Errol and @Toups... the recent ad changes on the forums are causing me quite a headache, especially when wanting to use the multi-quote function. The button for multi-quote comes at the bottom right of the screen, which is now obscured by the ad banner. This means I cannot access the button or turn off any multi-quotes that I previously had loaded. Can we please fix this at some point?

Holy s**t. That would have been crazy for soap viewers at the time! OMG YES! As someone who is also autistic, it’s so awesome to see someone like Kim Rhodes talk about her experiences of being on the spectrum (there is still so much misunderstanding in society about what the autism spectrum is, and only now are we starting to have the necessary conversations around it).

I was intrigued by the historical references in Scotty’s scenes yesterday with Liz and Cam - talking about Jeff with Liz, and his own past with Cam. Nice use of history there, which is interesting because I’ve been watching late 70s GH clips with Scotty and Jeff, and it’s actually interesting to see how it all unfolded back then. Would it be worth bringing back RDA as Jeff after 39 years? I mean, if Kim Delaney can return to daytime after 36 years...

Even in 1966 Denise Alexander was a bloody powerhouse. I’ve been watching GH 1977 Rick/Lesley on Youtube recently, and DA had a similar empowering energy to her as Lesley as she does here as Susan. Either way, so riveting to watch.

Speaking of Erica, here’s another episode I stumbled upon, from AMC’s 20th anniversary month in January 1990. Some gold in here - Chuck, Donna, Emily Ann, Phoebe, Billy Clyde, Travis, Jack, Erica, Natalie, Skye. I love how fresh the episode looked here... it still feels somewhat contemporary compared to today’s standards!

Been watching this playlist most of the weekend. As it states, it’s lot of Erica, but also a whole heap of other storylines in there, especially Natalie’s initial machinations against Erica and Jeremy. What I found interesting is even back in December 1985, they were already mentioning Janet by name in scenes between Natalie and Alex Hunter, which indicates to me that they had a solid backstory set up to use for Natalie later down the line. But it was a real treat watching Natalie/Erica scenes - those two were quite matched on the rivalry stakes!

A very scary thought just came to my head, because I had forgotten that biological connection... I’ve heard on these boards (not sure if fully substantiated though) that Alexis is meant to be meeting someone very important in jail. What if that someone is Steven Webber - but now being played by Roger Howarth?

He went to jail. And I totally agree - Steven is probably the character that will have the most meaningful impact across the canvas, for several reasons: Liz just lost her love in a tragic murder - she needs her family around her, and who better than her big brother? Cam keeps moaning about how he doesn’t have a father figure in his life - next best thing, get Cam to bond with his Uncle Steve again! Get Steve mixing it up in the hospital again - make him a challenger to Britt for COS. And last but not least - an actual organic obstacle for Ned/Olivia - she never really resolved her feelings for Steven after he went to jail, and has trouble deciding which man she wants to be with. Combine that with Alexis finally getting sober and released from her jail sentence, and you have a new quad!
