I love they foreshadowed this months ago, but it is already paying off in spades. I want more. I forgot to mention but I loved that shoutout. It's nice to see how BTG connects to the other soaps and so organically, too. I love you, but no. That story still has been the only story on this show that has had a beginning (if slow start), middle, and end. It was just enough. And like all stories, there is still so much to mine from it, but I rather like the initial story just to see a mini-arc on a soap again. Awww I am sorry for your loss. I remember when Y&R planned to kill off Dina and my mother was going through medical issues on top of CoVid so as much as I like the character of Dina, didn't wanther to leave, and I'm sure Eileen Davidson knocked it out of the park, it was just too close to home for me. My mother thankfully recovered, but I still cannot sit through those scenes. So I feel that. THIS.

Drum roll? Le sigh. Just when I was respect Sidwell a little bit, back to the 'jokes.'

Yeah, I felt out of all the B plots introduced on this show in its first year, Doug/Vanessa/Joey was not only the best and most organic, but also the best paced. Solid enough to be a main story...which it showed the week of Doug's death or any week where it was the main story. It was just so well done to me, allowing for the characters to develop individually before the stories converged into something bigger. I loved Doug was over here dealing with a gambling addiction, but yet we saw a capable doctor who was loved by all his co-workers...some of my favorite scenes were him with Shanice, Ashley, random doctor at the nurse stand. Then you had Vanessa over there playing sex games with different men (hey, Diego, hey!), but you also saw her being a town gossip while being BFFs to Dani and saw she was a shark in her real estate business. Just the different sides to both characters. Then you had Joey in the background which made the fact that he was pulling the strings behind both of their vices just genius. And a cat and mouse game insured...right up until Doug's death. You said it perfectly...Vanessa currently would not bother me currently if she still had her cunning edge that had been established over the first 150 episodes, but she's little more than a weepy heroine and it does not ring true. The only thing saving her is the actress playing her putting in layers sometimes and that is stretching thin. Yeah, the build to the Hayley reveal and how it made some of the odd things that came before it make sense was superb in hindsight. I'm still enjoying her channeling Kristen Dimera circa late 90s DAYS myself, but she's not coming across as being cunning right now either.

Why, thank you. But I like Hellion Trina. hehe. Yeah, I used to like him cuz Cassadine. I even liked his pairing with Anna. BUT how that relationship ended due to Charlotte and the stuff surrounding Pikeman (cuz he WAS the head of it) is what turned me off of him. At least PM gave him a purpose again even if it would have (and should have) led to his end. And the Anna I've seen on this show would not have been as weepy as she's been and have handled him easily so another strike against him since he makes a beloved character act out of character. Not helped by the tone of his current story. As did I. It didn't bother me that Britt returned. And the start of her story was good. But once she landed in PC, they made Britt into some comedy skit/cartoon character and that was a no go. And they never should have done this story with Rocco.

Is it wrong that I'm looking forward to next Christmas simply because I like the running subplot of the Dupree women taking no prisoners when it comes to trying to find out their gifts early by sneaking around.

See? That's the thing. Even though death is death on this show, it is oh so easy to bring fan favorites back.

First of all, Merry Xmas to you as well. I hope you finally got some rest on from that crazy job. And yes, it's definitely been a solid season so far. No down period at all really. Though I do need to watch the latest episode at some point. hehe.

It was great acting and I was completely shocked. I guess it shows how invested I'm in Anita as a character and TT as an actress. I'm also excited since Anita IS overdue another storyline that is centered on her. It really had a nice build to over the past week or so. Hehe. All I can think of is the family staredown in Episode 1 which is still one of my favorite moments on this show. That and Karen Huger from RHOP.

And it also makes me of what just happened to Chance this year on Y&R. And over a comment, too? So much potential.

First of all...YASSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!! I said it before and I will say it again...even with all the flaws in the writing team...this show is at least bingeable. And the week I just watched was actually superb due to all the stuff focusing on Who Shot Drew. I say all the time in the BTG thread that its best weeks so far has been when it has an A story, solid B plot, or an event as the focus for the week with other stories surrounding that story. So good to see GH seems to have that memo, resulting in momentum starting to appear again. Laura, Sonny, and Dalton's body was the main focus one week and now the show has circled back to the almost dead-in-water tale of Who Shot Drew. And I'm shocked and surprised how invested I got as I binged. That might be because of the appearance of structure...along with twists and turns. I thought the Curtis thing was just hasty written, but still hoped it might be a red herring. Heck even got a Curtis vs Drew scene out of it. But to see it might actually BE a red herring was delicious. It was nice to see a good amount of the canvas react to his arrest (I totally forgot him and Nina were friends since they rarely interact now). And of course, it added another layer to the Portia mess. Which speaking of...Isaiah starting to get a clue is intriguing. As well as him staying giving obsessed vibes. Well, well, WEEEEELLLLL...the plot twist of the camera footage. The spotlight back on Willow (hunni!). I...WAS...LIVING. Fingers crossed that she really was Drew's shooter all along. Yes, I'm actually on pens and needles just thinking about it. If it's her, then the writers really pulled off a great misdirection in that department. I also loved Chase vs Michael. YES, PLEASE. But I loved more that as expected, Chase's need to be Captain Save-a-Ho a hero has finally started to cause problems for his marriage and BLQ was calling him out. Finally...some friction. And Michael not backing down...was kinda hot. We know I don't care for him with that girl so them in Nina's office did nothing for me. Though...nice red dress. See? I also didn't like the Friday coda of the week I've watched aka the Jason/Britt kiss. They had just had a nice moment. And it tied back into her return. And it felt like the Jason/Britt they used to be. So of course, the writers ruined it. And I'm not here for Carly/Val. Moreso if the go-to to play them is the wackas wackas cuz...GIRL, GONE. Other than that...pretty good week. And I can't believe we are already approaching the custody trial, too. It felt like (and true) that we have been talking about it for months. PS. How is it that Britt and Pascal have not crossed paths yet? Or have they and I missed it. PPS. EXCUSE ME??? EYE MITES. I suspect this is tying into how Sidwell plans to sabotage Deception, but honestly Liz deserves better. So does Felicia who they at least put her in as Maxie's proxy for Deception stuff. So I just think it's clear spite on the writers' side. No other reason.

To be fair, it was the 50th anniversary so Jax and Brenda could also be a bit of nostalgia given people still remember and/or like the Sonny/Brenda/Jax triangle and it had its moment as well as it would be the kind of thing RC would do. It definitely could have last all year long if everyone was available, but I like what we got. Though I can't remember if Jax just upped and vanished after Carly revealed what Brenda did. If so, that was too quick for sure.
