  1. This is so true, imo. ETA: I don't mean the part about hell. I can't speak to that. Just what's been normalized.
  2. I have to respectfully disagree with that. When the person at the top is as corrupt as Trump it seeps through the nation. The white supremacy didn't start with Trump, but he has emboldened them. Plus Trump has made hundreds of nominations to the lower courts and may very well get another SCOTUS nomination. He is far more dangerous and powerful than a single member of the court can ever be. Oh, and he still has the codes to the nukes. There is always that.
  3. I wish I could see it that way. Still, I think RR is correct and all we can do is keep fighting.
  4. I've wondered this exact same thing, except they aren't going to die, right? I'm not even sure it will hurt them. I would say it's a show of power by the patriarchy. That's really the only thing that makes sense to me. There are probably many men in power worried that what they did many years ago might resurface. Also, there are a lot of women who have built their lives around conservative values. It's their way of life and how they were socialized even if some of us can't relate or have cast those values off ourselves. I'm glad she did the right thing for the sake of these women.
  5. I didn't know about that. 300 people massacred, what a nightmare. Also, amazing to me that people on the right try to stoke up fears of a race riot, but many of aren't taught about the ones that already happened because it doesn't fit the narrative.
  6. I think POC in general might be able to turn the tide. I'm just saying putting it only on women won't work because the numbers aren't there. WOC are about 22% of the population and they face voter repression. We need everyone. We need men of color. We need the 47% (or there about) of white women who voted against Trump. We need the decent white men who voted against him. We even need the idiots who fell for him the last time and have come to their sense. There have to be a few. I'm not taking anything away from the WOC and in particular the black women who saw through this SOB in greater numbers then the rest of us. I'm just saying that every single decent human being in this country has to get off their asses and vote, volunteer and donate to the best of their abilities or we are sunk.
  7. It's not though. Everyone of us has to do everything in our power to help save ourselves before it's too late. Assuming it's not already. You can see how once someone like Trump gets control the corruption just multiplies. Who knows if we can ever root it out.
  8. Is it me or does Ben Sasse never actually say he's voting no? Maybe this article was clickbait or it's late and I'm confused.
  9. Seriously, no thanks to any of it.
  10. He never stops being awful
  11. Plus, I saw this after my original post. For the love of God...one of the top stories on CNN right now is Trump dodging taxes.
  12. She owes the IRS for back taxes though and that is unusual in a candidate. At the same time, I have really hard time caring about this kind of thing given the financial shenanigans 45 has engaged in. Of course, that's the danger of corruption at the top, all these smaller issues seem like chicken feed.
  13. It's such a disgusting and petty thing to do, but that's the theme of this administration.
  14. It's pretty hard to get to the truth. There is a hell of a lot of lying going on in the press by both sides, that much I'm sure of. There is a lot of cherry picking done in the reporting that goes on, I'm sure of that too. I think you really have to do a lot of reading and make up your own mind about the situation, if you really care enough to do that. To me it seems like one of the world's truly unsolvable issues.
  15. @JaneAustenAl Jazeera does a lot of reporting on the situation in Palestine. I wouldn't exactly call it objective, but if you read the Times of Israel (also not objective) as well you can usually get some sense of the truth.
  16. Lindsey Graham is really off his rocker.
  17. Please let this guy win.
  18. Thanks. This is among the worst of 45's policies. Traumatizing children cannot be forgiven and it won't be forgotten by history. There is no justification.
  19. Me either, but I'll be thrilled to see some of these guys go to jail or bleed in civil court.
  20. Yeah, this whole thing has been a debacle right from the start. Not having Mark judge testify, not talking to all the credible accusers or supporting witnesses. None of that is confidence inspiring. Sure looks that way.
  21. Hell yes. I'm not as sure about Avenatti's client, but this woman deserves to be heard.
  22. I feel this way too.
