  1. This is so crazy, but not surprising. I blame both 45 and the right wing media for this. They have been sowing the seeds of hate and paranoia against the Obamas, Clintons and Soros for years, along with the "liberal" media. Some nut finally got it in his head to try to take them all out at once.
  2. It's disconcerting that so many people in power are touting these conspiracy theories. It's becoming the norm. No wonder someone put a bomb in GS's mailbox. The right have been making him into a bogeyman for years now. 😒
  3. She's right I didn't hear about this.
  4. Thanks, I remember that now that you mentioned it. I don't understand anyone who gives these people quarter.
  5. Thanks for answering Khan. I'm sad to hear that VJ screwed up his chance to hold JK's feet to the fire.
  6. What happened with Van Jones? I've always liked him, tbh.
  7. One of the most vulnerable groups in our country, so of course that's who he attacks. I'm hoping this is just red meat for the base and they will back off after the election. He's a mean and petty person though, so I put nothing past him, no matter how delusional and stupid.
  8. Not surprising.
  9. He's obviously not kidding, he's floating the idea, getting people used to it. With any luck Mother Nature will make it a non issue. The fear mongering over this "migrant caravan" is really ridiculous. A few thousand people at the boarder who cares?
  10. I just can't believe that ad is actually hitting our airwaves. It really manages to be quite the amalgam of racist, sexist nonsense. I'm not quite sure which of several groups should be the most insulted.
  11. ^ Please tell me that's not real. Please.
  12. So true.
  13. I find it so strange that anyone finds Roseanne's death by OD demeaning. That could so easily happen to just about anyone under the right circumstances. Yeah, I don't find the kids believable either. Harris is a little more believable than Mark. He's just too happy, bright ( I don't mean smart, I mean that child glows) and well adjusted to come from a poor, broken home. I can overlook it though because this is a sitcom and I don't need it to be overly dark. I think Darlene's beaten down demeanor is enough of that anyway, and Sara Gilbert plays it very well.
  14. ^ I wish we knew what it was about.
  15. Are they trying to get ratings by showing a freak show? I'm not watching, but I used to suspect that's where the fascination with Nazi types came from on the part of the media. Beyond that, it's really not that interesting or anything we haven't heard many times before.
  16. Max Boot's perspective is interesting, but I think the truth is some of us didn't fully realize how empty these Republican politicians were all along.
  17. I'm looking forward to the premier. I think the show will still be good.
  18. I'll be honest I'm not really sure what truth I'm supposed to be getting from this DNA test. She had a Native American ancestor 10 generations ago it would seem, but isn't the truth that she basically lied about being a minority? It may not be serious but we've seen the way Trump mocking people is very effective. I'm not sure that's changed.
  19. It's really frustrating to see people intimidated from running for office. I'm not sure who should be responsible for stepping in, but someone should. I grew up in upstate NY, so the continued lack of diversity in that part of NY/New England doesn't surprise me. It's so rural for the most part, there is no real reason to move there. Maybe it's changed in the last 25 years, but I doubt it. Most of that region is a place young people flee if they have any ambition at all. Speaking of shameful things.
  20. The unbelievable nerve of these greedy, irresponsible people.
  21. ^ Have we ever been more of a kleptocracy? I know it was bad in the Bush years too, but it's so blatant now. There is truly no shame.
  22. I'm surprised that they don't keep denying it. Why not? Trump denies the truth even when there is video evidence. Someone told me the Saudis hired a specialist in dismemberment to deal with the body. I'm not sure, I haven't had the heart to watch the video or read a detailed account of what they did to him.
  23. The surreal nature of our reality is at a peak.
  24. It's really hard for me to imagine Elizabeth Warren winning in 2020. The last three years or so have shown us that this society really hates women. If she's the nominee I think Trump has a good chance. Sad to say, but there it is. I would love Warren or Harris to prove me wrong though.
