  1. Sure doesn't seem like it, since this is his 4th term in office.
  2. Looks like Bibi is trying to back track on this two state solution admission. LMAO! Too late. http://www.haaretz.com/news/diplomacy-defense/.premium-1.647930
  3. Right. I don't actually believe that any politician who knows anything about the Middle East believes a two state solution is truly possible. I'm a cynic on this front because I don't believe any US leader has believed in that possibility either. Well, maybe Jimmy Carter did. When you are dealing with religious extremists there is no hope. However, to just come out and tell the truth! My God, what was the man thinking!? I'm not being sarcastic either, the two state solution has always been a lie agreed upon (to plagiarize David Milch) and Bibi broke that agreement. Now things are going to be even more chaotic until he's ousted.
  4. I think some of the things he said today are really unfortunate, but I'm also glad the left isn't taking over in Israel. Israel is in such a different position than we are here.
  5. No, kidding! The horse scene bothered me. Too predictable. I would have liked to see the group win one of these for once. The second I saw that horse I said to myself, "deader than Sophia".
  6. She scared the hell out of me with that little talk. Carol does not play.
  7. Holy F*ck, Carol!!
  8. OMG, yes! I remember that too. We'd go through Jersey to visit my family in NYC and that would happen.
  9. I'm really interested in this new book coming out on kids in poverty. Here's an interview with the author, Robert Putnam. http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/wonkblog/wp/2015/03/06/the-terrible-loneliness-of-growing-up-poor-in-robert-putnams-america/
  10. And to continually think that the rules don't apply to them. After everything that's happened in the past, you'd think a lesson would have been learned about that, but nope.
  11. That's not the result of bad choices he's made though. We're in the age of the tea party right now.
  12. I disagree with you there. I love Bill Clinton. However, that incident was an example of terrible judgement. He didn't just mess with a white house intern, he did it in the oval office. All of that is flat out wrong and very different from just having meaningless sex with a woman who didn't (indirectly) work for him in a random hotel room. Gennifer Flowers, I could tolerate. The Lewinsky thing told me that BC either felt that the rules didn't apply to him or that he was so out of control he didn't care about the consequences of his actions. And while I am pro Hillary up to a point, I've enjoyed no drama Obama. It's been nice not to wake up to a new scandal every day.
  13. Not true. AMC had plenty of Latinos and Better Call Saul does as well.
  14. I thought it was odd how quickly she got on board. I also liked Carol's last line to Rick "even though you were wrong, you were right". I completely agree. Rick is pretty traumatized, so I can't hate him. I liked the scene where they were outside the camp and Rick heard the children laughing, that was nice.
  15. No, I liked him, but I was one of the few on this board. He was quite disliked to say the least.
  16. I think he's being practical. There are 1 billion Muslims in the world, so he wants to make sure that we differentiate between extremists and the common people who aren't involved in terrorism. We can't and shouldn't go to war against them all. I agree that the extremists are a branch of Islam, just like fundamentalist Christians are a branch of Christianity. However those are questions of religion and philosophy and only get in the way of politics and a practical result, imo. Plus. he even has a real point, in the sense that these extremists have probably killed more of their fellow Muslims than they have anyone else.
  17. Yes, you're right. It just kills me that we may have to legislate common sense. I'd prefer it to come from the private sector, if it can't just come from people believing the medical establishment is right on this one.
  18. I'm definitely pro-vaccination, but it does go against my grain to force a parent to vaccinate. I'm not saying I wouldn't support it, if there is truly no other way, but it strikes me as over stepping by the government and I am pretty liberal. I felt the same way about allowing young girls to get abortions without parental notification. I'm horrified by the idea of my little girl going through surgery without my having the first idea it's happening. However, the bad apples out there who try to force or shame their young teens into having babies they aren't ready for screw things for the rest of us. This is basically the same situation. Parents should have the right to decide on their children's medical care, but these relatively few are arbitrarily putting other people's children in danger by not vaccinating, so the government is going to have to step in and take over.
  19. Of course! My SON buddies make TV watching much more fun. I just don't know why the writers thought we'd want to watch an episode of what's in someone's head as they die. That could have been done in two mins. Oh well. I just hope it gets better.
  20. I had a feeling this episode would make Q and Chit happy. I thought it was kind of a waste.
  21. I'm an atheist, but I still don't find any of these Christian actors strange or creepy. A huge percentage of the population still believes in some sort of God, generally the Christian one in the U.S. No reason to think actors would be any different. I do find a certain irony in some of it given that Austin Peck participated in the break up of a marriage, but whatever.
  22. I like the implication that Varys is going to try to bring Tyrion to Danys side. I hope that works out.
  23. Right. I just wish things would be fair for everyone, but that won't be happening any time soon.
  24. Seriously. He's one of those people that I often agree with, but because he is such a condescending jerk I want to take the opposite position.
  25. Thank you. It's amazing how many people hold this opinion. No wonder sex workers make such easy targets for every freak out there.
