  1. Same. Someone will probably 'take one for the team' and give us a summary though. Riddled with technical glitches, if past history proves true.
  2. Someone should ask him what he thinks of a show like Downton Abbey, which would seem to be the antithesis of what he views as a successful continuing drama. Good for you! Someone needs to at least try to ask the uncomfortable, but probing questions. If I were on FB, I would've tried it too, lol.
  3. It makes me wonder whether we'll ever get to see a streamed discussion with Eileen Fulton now. Part of me thinks she may not want to do one after he's been an invites guest. The other part of me hopes that Eileen gets fired up and wants to be a guest on one, if only to "set the record straight".
  4. They did seem to go after the TOLN/PP soaps in a very aggressively negative manner, as if the turf they were protecting were their very own, all because their preferred HWs didnt get to write the online versions of AMC and OLTL. Well, since I want CG to get as few clicks as possible, I won't even be doing that.
  5. The best statement people can make to voice their displeasure is either to pepper the chat with pointed questions on his disrespect of the show's history and the veteran talent or to just not tune in at all and let the view count shrivel. It's a waste of my time personally, so I don't plan to watch. Anywho, Thanks for the clips @DRW50. This is a period during which I became an inconsistent viewer because school and extra-curriculars got so very busy. Only in the last several years have I been seeing episodes that filled in the storyline blanks with more specifics. Seeing entire episodes of B&B posted online has made me slightly envious, wishing that I could see entire episodes of ATWT in clear audio and visual quality. Even with the mediocre acting that plagued so much of B&B, being able to see a whole entire episode in clear audio and visual quality makes it that more enjoyable. If only we could get more of that for ATWT. Not only a single episode (of which ATWT has more than quite a few), but the fact that I know the next episode will be uploaded, no missing episodes or storylines abruptly ended due to missing scenes and episodes.
  6. Because people treated Microsoft like a traditional corporation, while Zuckerman and others of his ilk have convinced those in power that Facebook is somehow above and beyond the reach of a traditional corporate entity, which we all know isn't true. When I used to get those opinion questionnaires and panels, I got asked whether tech companies should be broken up, I would always answer "yes" and I always made sure to give a very thorough, specific reply on why I believed the likes of Amazon, Facebook, Verizon, etc. should be broken up and not allowed to have all these mergers, acquisitions and various holdings and how I believed they misused all that power to bar competition and stifle innovation and a fair marketplace. Europe has been leading the way in the antitrust fight, as they,'ve had Google in litigation for the better part of a decade now.
  7. I'm surprised that we haven't really heard or seen anything in relation to the nursing homes. This case was surrounding an outbreak that occurred in March of last year, which was regarded as fairly early in the pandemic, in the U.S. at least, but perhaps not in Europe. It will be interesting to read about whether the fact that it occurred relatively early in the pandemic will be a determining factor in how far the case goes, as well as any remuneration.
  8. Many eyes on this to see whether this will be the start of something, or something contained (unlike the virus itself) to Austria.
  9. It will be very interesting to see whether Raducanu's success changes the highly xenophobic, aggressively negative stereotypes about Romanians that proliferate in places like the U.K., which Brexit seemed only to amplify.
  10. It would serve as comfort food right about now. Some B&B fans complain about the screen aspect ratio of the uploads to their YouTube channel but, honestly, I wouldn't much mind what aspect the videos would be should P&G decide to upload classic ATWT episodes as long as the episodes were good quality and in clear visual quality. Awhile back on one of the B&B threads, I wondered aloud whether the YouTube channel would run ads while streaming these classic episodes and they are, something that any company that holds a library of classic soaps can do. While it's somewhat easier for B&B, due to episode length (22 minutes w/o ads) and they use little to no popular music, at least in the earlier years (I do remember a cover of "You Bring The Sun Out", if you really look, you will see most soaps had periods (even in the big 80s) when not much popular music was being used. If The Doctors and B&B can do it, many others can do this. What do fans of The Doctors and B&B know that ATWT fan's don't?
  11. He may not be playing these days but he's getting paid for his tennis career nonetheless.
  12. Smug and wrong, don't forget wrong, which would have been fatal to his career as a prognosticator, if he were anyone else but a white guy. Nobody else on earth gets this many opportunities to be loud and wrong with virtually no consequences.
  13. I know we're supposed to be in the era of "peak television" but I really miss this show! Honestly, I would settle for some classic episodes that I haven't seen on YouTube about a half dozen times already. 😫
  14. I'm not sure if this has been posted but Portugal has vaccinated at least 80% of their population.
  15. The scary thing is that we all essentially have to rely on others to do what is necessary to protect themselves and others. At this point, we can only suggest, request, try to inform but we cannot physically make anyone do anything, they must be the ones to make the move. We can only protect ourselves and maybe a few loved ones that are willing to accept the help.
  16. @amybrickwallace I really hope that your In-laws will see reason and do their utmost to protect themselves and each other by getting vaccinated and being diligent about mask wearing. Continued strength to you, as someone who has one or two unvaccinated relatives (they cannot be around me and they aren't allowed near my mom) I know it is both stressful and frustrating. Continue strength to you too @Soapsuds, I'm sorry that this has happened to your family. Hopefully, everyone has taken the steps to protect themselves and each other by getting vaccinated, if they haven't already. Strength to everyone else that is dealing with a similar situation. I try to take things day by day, because to listen to projections on how much longer we will have to deal with this is liable to really make me feel depressed. My life is such that now whenever I go out and into an indoor space with people, I plan ahead to go when there will be the least amount of people and time myself so that I am not in that space for longer than 15-20 minutes at a time. And always double-masked. There are no more simple outings.
  17. It also proves the complaint about slower court speeds deadening tennis, which I made several years ago, over and over again. The courts were finally sped up, for the first time in ages and the entertainment value went up, irrespective of the names of the players. It's a pity both the US Open and Wimbledon wasted so many years of late with slowed down court surfaces. Think of how many bodies were wrecked by such slow courts.
  18. I thought the first set was fun. I didn't really have any expectations, seeing as the two players were first-time finalists. The women coming out ahead of the men in the ratings is pretty much par for the course in recent years, especially in light of the relative predictability of the men's draw.
  19. Thank goodness I don't watch some media, because that sounds pretty desperate to me.
  20. I know Trinis must be embarrassed by this.
  21. The Djokovic-Medvedev final was up 37% over last year's men's final. For the men, that is a definite improvement in ratings.
  22. The women's peaked at 3.4 million, while the men's peaked at 2.7 million. https://espnpressroom.com/us/press-releases/2021/09/us-open-viewership-up-33-in-prime-time-13-overall/amp/?__twitter_impression=true
  23. Yes, I remember that. She did do other soaps but never seemed to do long engagements at that point. I really do believe that she just didn't want the type of hours that filming a soap opera generally requires.
