  1. If only Steve Kent were next, but that would mean Sony actually cared about Y&R.
  2. Apparently, Stefanos dragged Novak into the whole kerfuffle, saying he learned to take strategic bathroom breaks from Djokovic.😂
  3. Is Aga still getting fillers? She looks much older than the last time I saw her.
  4. Not to make this an East Coast soaps vs. West Coast soaps thing, but I have noticed that many of the actresses who have had noticeable work done have been on West Coast based soaps. Many of the actresses, especially those over 40s have been allowing themselves to age more gracefully. Of course, they care and take care of themselves but they seem more likely to still resemble themselves, just a bit older than when we last saw them, rather than drastic, unrecognizable changes.
  5. I agree. If he doesn't do right by Days, the fans will likely savage him but that's none of my concern.
  6. Considering the fact that perennial fu*ck ups like JG get multiple chances to screw up soaps, why should Giddens get any less of an opportunity, lol? That's not love, not from me, it's not. It's just the current reality of the situation. Very few writers actually want to write for these soaps these days. At least it's somebody who hasn't been on the soap merry go round for decades and ruining shows.🤷🏾‍♀️
  7. What personalities are they working with??? The ones who win the most lack them and the ones who do have attractive personalities don't consistently win enough. Also, matches are not being televised on regular broadcast television nearly enough, so people have to make efforts to actually find these matches (assuming they want to pay for TC, TC+, ESPN, ESPN+. Not enough people want to pay for all these subscriptions strictly to watch tennis when they can subscribe to Disney+ and HBO Max and Netflix and get first run movies that everyone is talking about. Tennis folks just don't get how any of this works. When you imply that one of your most attention-grabbing players is lazy, how will that draw view new viewers? Nothing against a player who just puts her head down and "goes to work" and plays matches, but how does this draw in viewers? Folks forget that sports are supposed to be entertainment. Yes, tennis needs to promote players other than stars, but let's be real, in the early days of their career, nobody was promoting Venus and Serena except their father, Richard Williams. Only hardcore tennis fans knew who Roger Federer was until he upset Pete Sampras at Wimbledon. And most people outside tennis knew little about Rafael Nadal until that long+@ss match where he beat Federer at Wimbledon in darkness, with only television cameras to light the courts. Tennis matches need to be back on regular television where you can watch a match with a regular ole' antenna, even a half dozen matches per year on CBS, NBC and ABC could make a big difference. When even PGA/LPGA has more matches on CBS than tennis, you know there's a problem.
  8. Oof, couldn't be me.😩😬 BJ was such a forgettable character. Although I was too young to really 'take in' the stories before 1983-ish, familiarizing myself with some 1981 characters via YouTube (what little there is from that era) over the past few years, the closest I can think of the 2005 era-type character where a BJ could exist is the era where a Brad Hollister existed, and even Brad was anchored to other ATWT characteristics who were actually worth watching.
  9. Speaking of getting crushed... US Open not doing well with admissions. Ticket prices are rock bottom, as low as $6!! After a year of no spectators allowed, I guess it's not exactly a stampede for seats. US Open better start preparing for the next phase of the ATP/WTA Tours without the mega-stars that guarantee butts in seats.
  10. She really looks great. As glam as Lisa is, Eileen is very down to earth. Beautiful. As for the last several years of that show, y'all know how I feel...that show wasn't even As The World Turns, more like the show formerly known as...
  11. Ugh, Lee Scratch Perry and Ed Asner gone before yesterday afternoon!😔 Venturing into this In Memoriam thread can sometimes break your heart.
  12. These soaps and their production companies should be embarrassed at what is going on at GH. No self-respecting organization or company that requires its workers to be in such close proximity in a daily basis would allow this. Especially one supposedly back by such a large corporation as Disney. How does a company insure such people? Anyway, This response seems spot on for such occasions as this.

  14. Same. Just this morning, I read this article.
  15. He's got many followers and his tweets tend to get trends going.
  16. L'affaire Olya vs Sascha is really blowing up, big time!
  17. This is definitely "On Brand" for Politico.
  18. Honestly, if these remaining daytime soaps get cancelled tomorrow, I would not shed one tear. There are so many intellectually regressive human beings on these shows and B&B looks to be one of the absolute worst. Did someone mix a stupidity serum in all their bottles of Perrier or something? How does one vaccinate a building? You vaccinate people and animals. You don't vaccinate inanimate objects.
  19. Thanks @DRW50. Kasi Lemmons always makes for an interesting interview. That project that she spoke of writing for her husband Vondie Curtis Hall was a short film, Dr. Hugo, in which Victoria Rowell appeared. Interesting fact that both actresses had once played the same character on As The World Turns. (Lemmons also directed another film in which a former ATWT alum co-starred-- The Caveman's Valentine with Tamara Tunie). Always interesting to hear about an artist's process.
  20. Interesting article, about the author of several Jeopardy-themed books, who delved into the podcast recordings and called attention to them, ultimately leading to Richards rescinding the hosting gig of Jeopardy. She asserts that there was was a toxic culture at TPIR while Richards was over there and that his podcasts were a lot worse than has been publicly mentioned, as she has listened to every podcast episode. https://archive.is/GJTLN
  21. Lots of star power absent from this year's USO but they can always ask about players like Basilashvili and Zverev carrying domestic violence charges or allegations. Probably won't do much for ratings over all, but hey, at least it would be creating a new narrative for the fortnight. Also, the last new American woman to win a major title, Sofia Kenin, is out as she has been diagnosed with COVID-19. She is vaccinated and has mild symptoms but still has the virus and, of course, is ineligible for play.
