  1. Threats are to be taken seriously and not just cited. Hopefully she reported those threats.
  2. Honestly, those questions need to be asked of Biden. Harris' being put in charge of addressing migration from the Northern Triangle countries was specific to Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador specifically. It did not incorporate Haitian migration. If her duties have expanded, that would be interesting to know.
  3. Even though I don't watch CNN programming (other than the occasional presidential debate), I would agree that he should've been fired.
  4. Personally, I think these shows are rushing these in person interviews. I know time is money and they are in a race for an ever larger slice of the ratings "pie", but as long as they want to rush to the table to do "in person" activities, these scares will happen more and more. Personally, I'd advise against the V.P. doing 'in person' where so many people are clustered inside, even masked people.
  5. In a letter to her NYC constituency, AOC apologized for her "Present" vote, claiming that she did so after receiving threats for opposing aid. "hateful targeting" is how she referred to it.
  6. Yeah, Sunny is from a legal background, so she likely wants to cross all her "i"s and cross all her "t"s before making statements.
  7. Oh she's going to be alright 🤣.
  8. A firm is telling ITSE, a union representing camera operators, set builders and other production workers that Apple TV+ has less than 20 million subscribers, which apparently allows any streaming company to pay workers less. If I am the head of that union, I would want a professional to look over those numbers.
  9. That's a complaint I've heard about with the rapid response tests--accuracy problems.
  10. LOL. I honestly didn't mean it as shade though. It just is what is it. Actually, I think it's preferable to a player staying too long with a coach, like Venus did with David Witt (although her latest coach hasn't done sh*t for her game-Eric is lucky he's cute, 😂).
  11. Hindsight is 20/20 and it's been at least a full decade for folks to gather their excuses about why the show went down to shi*t. There will never be an iota of accountability where these folks are concerned, which is why the network daytime "dramas" will never get any better. Only worse. Why would they improve, when daytime soap fans have proven that they'll watch the dumbest poorest written sh*t? Also, why are folks debating trolls? It's a waste of time, y'all are only helping them get a deeper foothold in the thread.
  12. They were said to have a volatile relationship. In interviews, I remember Tatum O'Neal alleging that her father Ryan O'Neal was physically and emotionally abusive, which he denied. She also said that it was McEnroe's hot headedness that attracted her (she felt he was reminiscent of her father but claimed McEnroe was a much better man than her father), but she also claimed to have a worse temper than John, which she blamed her father for her temperament. She did once say that John punched a wall, which seems pretty scary but coming from her violent upbringing, I guess it seemed milder in comparison. I do remember an interview where she stated that after a loss on the tennis court, McEnroe could be difficult to live with, as if she had to walk a tight-rope with him. (I can easily imagine at least one ATP player whose wife may feel the same after a loss.) What's most odd was to hear O'Neal express regret that she divorced McEnroe last year, but it is probably as a result of feeling vulnerable, with her having just been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis and being single. According to this article, they worked together for two years when she was a Junior player. They recently reunited in July. https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/tennis/us-open-champion-emma-raducanu-splits-with-coach-less-than-two-weeks-after-becoming-first-qualifier-to-win/ar-AAONe48 Apparently, she wants a coach that has experience on the WTA Tour. I don't think her ex-coach will have much trouble finding a new player to coach. It's a bit of an eyebrow raiser but it has happened on both Tours. Didn't Thiem dump someone on his coaching staff after the U.S. Open?
  13. Not watching Laver Cup but 👀.
  14. No problem. It's definitely a "Yikes"😳 of an obit!
  15. You can always copy/paste the url in archive.is There was no mention of pistol-whipping but she did show up with his protegé Bobby Womack, who apparently wore Sam's clothes, that she married four months later. The obituary also mentioned that she shot Womack when she found him in bed with her teenage daughter (who later married Womack's brother Cecil). The bullet grazed Bobby Womack's temple. A few people have expressed irritation for rehashing these details in the obituary, especially since the family hadn't publicly announced the death. Also, I had heard of the duo Womack & Womack but I didn't know that they were compromised of her daughter (who changed her name) and Cecil Womack.
  16. This is what the soap Generations wish it could have been.
  17. EDT: Actually, the woman who named her son Merkel is a refugee from Cameroon, I believe. I am glad to see that President Biden has finally spoken on the matter and I am keen to see what the investigation will uncover. Good Lord.
  18. Again, I decided to watch a classic B&B episode on their YouTube channel (which is kind of a mess, tbh, at least on mobile) to see whether there were any P&G ads streaming during the episode and counted no less than 1-2-3 ads during the approx. 21 minutes run time. Pretty interesting. There was also a trailer for an Apple TV+ show. Do soaps on regular broadcast television even get these caliber of ads running during their shows? Seems more upscale, imo.
  19. They both got side-eyeing from me when it was uncovered that Chris had been in on strategy sessions for his older brother's sexual harassment allegations.
  20. Well, Chris can join his older brother, former governor of NY, Andrew Cuomo in being named as having sexually harassed someone. Apparently, a former boss has accused Chris Cuomo. Hey @Soapsuds, are we on the same wavelength now? Simultaneous posts!
  21. https://www.seattletimes.com/business/in-setback-for-apple-european-union-seeks-common-charger-for-all-phones/ So interesting, especially since I bought a USB-C to USB adapter for my phone a few weeks ago.
  22. @HuntressEarlier this week, I read a newspaper article about how many Syrian refugees have name their children Angela, Angie or Merkel (boys). They credit her for saving their lives. It's really endearing. She took a lot of searing criticism but this is part of her legacy as well, and one that, in time, I believe will look kindly on her tenure as Chancellor.
  23. This is oddly amusing.
  24. Pretty brilliant. It's akin to peeling back the layers of an onion, when you find something new with each viewing. It's no different than seeing episodes of The Golden Girls as an adult, and picking up references that you didn't "get" when you watched as a child. It's how shows remain relevant, tbh. You can't have every piece of dialogue mothballed in time.
