  1. Some things just age really badly. Like porn-staches.
  2. Last night, I just saw the madness that is Rademacher's social media and the post that everyone has been discussing. Admittedly, it's been a long time since I last engaged with Instagram, but I saw the screenshot post on Twitter and it's disgusting! Now, I am not someone who is anti-meme. Some memes are genuinely funny but I have found that most political memes tend to range from the distasteful to the disgusting. This makes me question the psychological stability of someone who posts with such virulence.
  3. Many fans have taken up the "crusade" to defend these soaps, no matter how poorly they are written and managed, equating criticism to disloyalty. It's just aided and abetted these shows in their collective deterioration. If you value something, shouldn't you want to improve things, make them better? I realize that not all changes are for the better, but who hasn't noticed that the majority of these soaps have been limping along for almost twenty years now? The industry itself has needed change for a long time. Rademacher's social media (which I admit to having just seen those posts-- insane!) just adds to the perception of soap fans and some stars as being unhinged, in some alternate reality that is woefully out of step with real life.
  4. Also attn: @OzFrog, speaking of the effects of Brexit being done, I just came across this article. Very interesting and not unexpected. You can tap and read from this link without restrictions, as I discovered.
  5. Oh man, 😥 Rest in peace, Mr. Stockwell. Quantum Leap was an easily enjoyable series.
  6. These shows aren't getting any better by pretending the problems don't exist. I have never understood why they prefer to act like ostriches, sticking their heads in the sand. Then again, it's a similar vibe with how bad these shows are, no one is supposed to notice, let alone bring any attention to the matter.
  7. There is a Bookmark feature in Twitter though. In the past it would only appear on the app, but now it's also available when you login using a browser.
  8. Even though she's being identified by her work on Passions here, Christian LeBlanc said "Hi Sis" in the comments, which I thought was cute.
  9. I think one can be effective at playing a certain type of specific role but overall, not a very good actor. For instance, as much as I like Jennifer Hudson and I was pleased for her Oscar win, I think she is effective at playing a certain type of role, otherwise...nah. Fortunately, she's got a powerhouse voice (though the producers and songwriters have done her a disservice), so she has talent without question, but her acting range is limited.
  10. The first time I remember seeing Rademacher was on a show called Paradise Beach, that was running on WPIX 11, a NYC television network. Of all the actors on that short-lived soap, he was probably the one who seemed to have the least acting ability. Still, I wasn't surprised to see him turn up on American television. I am surprised that such a mediocre actor lasted so long. I guess the illusion of being a nice guy took him far. Now, that illusion has burst into the open and here we are.
  11. Thanks @victoria foxton. Maybe I will watch tomorrow then.
  12. I tried to watch earlier but the stream kept stalling. The video wouldn't even start. That's never happened to me before with a video. I finally got frustrated and promptly forgot about it. Maybe I'll try again another day.
  13. Oh my goodness, yes, I had forgotten about some of this stuff, with Rees-Mogg and lying to the Queen of England! This was a good review by O'Brien. Sometimes during previous U.K. elections, I have livestreamed LBC. Really interesting and concisely, passionately put. My question is, did Brexit really "get done" when British and French fisherfolk are still arguing about fishing rights? Has the lorry drivers shortage been resolved? If not, and the U.K. is still trying to lure drivers from the E.U. with less than desirable short-term agreements, wasn't Brexit supposed to short-circuit this from happening? What about all the loads of paperwork that an agreement was supposed to circumvent in transporting goods? It seems as if Brexit didn't quite get everything done.
  14. That news about Wilson is quite sad. R.I.P.
  15. I agree with @JaneAusten that McAuliffe ran a lazy campaign. If reports are to be believed, he was hoping for the infrastructure bill to pass before the election to deliver a "win" for him to run on??? WTF! How about telling the people of VA what you as governor plan to do specifically to make life better for constituents and keep reiterating this and the fact that your opponent has no real ideas for improving daily life for everyday Virginians, other than making them afraid. Emphasize that America is at its best when operating on hope and optimism, not fear. Why did he even run again anyway? Part of me wonders whether he was the best that the Dems could do in VA. And don't get me started on that new Lt. Governor. Ugh, I do not claim her. I know gun-toting Sears is no Democrat but she is of my ethnic group and neither I, nor anyone else I know, claim her. What's wrong with the state of VA anyway?
  16. I posted it during the livestream that there definitely was nothing that hadn't already been covered in previous interviews being explored. I was just so glad to see Eileen. Given, a few posters who popped up in this thread last year trying to spread the notion that Eileen was cognitively unable to do one of these livestreams (persons who don't seem to be around anymore, thankfully), I was just glad to see her. I was also tickled to hear her respond "Of course, I remember!" to a number of Locher's questions. It speaks of a lady who has been asked this question more than once and is perhaps weary of being asked whether she remembers something.
  17. Thank you, Errol for leaving this a free-floating forum and you have definitely not shied away from these topics. And thanks for giving the 411 on the misperception on motives for the radio silence on some topics in the soap media. Personally, imo, it seems like access reporting, where some blogs/sites are more dependent on access to soap actors than others affecting reporting decisions. I can sort of understand this, but it becomes a bit more challenging to get my head around the concept when a particular site is known for publishing rumors and imagined scenarios like fantasy castings.
  18. Are there people who still believe that Johnson can produce good results for the people? He seems to over-promise and under-deliver quite a lot. Also, the assertion that anyone can make about NJ is a long-time blue state when Chris Christie was governor not too long ago seems weird. I don't know about NYC but many areas had poor turnout, which has had a history of favoring GOP candidates. I still think it's a weird flex for media to use municipal and non-Congressional elections as some sort of bellwether for midterms, but I guess we'll see. Anti-CRT campaigns flopped in more than they succeeded but this was only half-discussed days after the election. Doesn't sell headlines and clicks, I guess.
  19. Thanks for the summary, @OzFrog. From the article I read this morning, I gathered that it was an ethics violation but your summary clarified matters.
  20. This scandal is something that I am unfamiliar with, despite the fact that I watch the BBC News world broadcast several days a week.
  21. I admit to not knowing much about this player but I know she has been around for years now, she should've known better, honestly.
