I Am A Swede

Annika has been widely critized for this in the Swedish press. They think it was shockingly tone-deaf of her to visit the White House for this presentation in the current situation.

I wonder what would have happened if these people had stuck to their opinions and opposed Trump.

You know, after listening to this speech by Elizabeth Warren and the one by Tammy Duckworth (both of whom were made after the riots), it's hard to understand how the senators and congressmen/women who kept up their treasonous objections to the electoral votes even after what happened can look themselves in the mirror.

Wow, that must qualify as one of the most bizarre and, at the same time, most frightening things I have ever read. We're not even talking about detachment from reality here. This is a horrifying glimpse of what it's like to reside in cuckoo-land, where reality, logic and truth don't exist and never have existed.

Oh give me a break! The hypocrisy is mindboggling. They could have stopped this themselves years ago, but they were fine with Trumps behaviour then because they benefitted from it. Trump incited a violent riot, an attack on the democratic process and now he must face the consequences of his actions. If these GOPers didn't have the spine to do something about him before things got out of hand to the extent they have now they have forfeited every right to act all shocked and talk about unification and avoiding actions which could be inflammatory.

^^ True. The affair she had with Jack was the death knell for Rachel as a viable character going forward. I really don't know who thought that was a remotely good idea. Of course it also did serious damage to Jack's character. And it came so out of left field...... I still remember feeling like when it happened.

I realize that my perception of him is coloured but in this picture he really looks like a sleazy villain in a low-budget Hollywood thriller.

After the events of the last few days this song feels very appropriate.....

Kathy was an honorary Sugden too and took care of the Sugden kids when Jack was accused of killing Sarah. She also had a topsy-turvy relationship with Kim, going from close friends to enemies and rivals.

We've had a tightening of the rules here in Sweden as well. Our parliament today voted to give the government more power to implement stricter measures more easily. The authorities now have the power to shut down malls, gyms, shops etc if they don't follow the rules. A limit on social gatherings has also been implemented, for both public and private gatherings. Starting yesterday we're also being urged to wear masks on public transportation during rush hours (7-9 in the morning and 16-18 in the afternoon)

Wow! You know, I think the rot has gone too deep. The Republican party is beyond salvation. The decent Republicans (I'm sure there are some out there somewhere) would probably do better breaking free and starting a new party.

I see it's time to bring this back....

So, apparently a "very much-loved character" will be returning this year. Anyone care to guess which Dingle it will be? Nellie? Eli? Delilah? Albert? Tina?
