  1. With news of James departure/death I've always thought that they'd have Emma be responsible for his death (which would result in the unfortunate loss of Gillian Kearney) I hope my suspicions aren't true. I mean I've read before on here that she once left him for dead?
  2. Clinton/Kaine 2016!
  3. Don't really have an issue with the pirate ship stuff, but I think more drama should have taken place upon Ashley learning that all those guys were just babysitting him. IMO it should have also been where Ashley learned that he's not allowed to be alone with Arthur. I am noticing that since McLeod's arrival the show has become much more lighthearted than it was under Oates. Now whether that's negative or positive for the show, it has yet to be seen. So far IMO, I like it.
  4. at Ted Cruz of all people attacking last nights filibuster as political show. Does this man's blatant partisanship and hypocrisy know no bounds?
  5. I liked that they had that small Carly and Laurel scene on Thursday in which Laurel discussed losing Daniel. The actress that plays Carly was so subtle but incredibly effective in that scene. I hope Ian MacLeod gives her some meatier material to play.
  6. It seems like Oates is just bidding her time until she leaves for CS, as demonstrated by the past week (My excitement has vastly decreased for ED after the conclusion of Gordon's trial and Paddy's departure). And no, Holly is not going to jump start my interest in the show. Shame.
  7. So I'm watching scenes from GL on youtube from 1990, and it's very interesting to see this GL versus the one that it became under JFP/Curlee. With Calhoun/Long at the helm, it seemed like there was some potential of a AC/Mindy romance, or even a Mindy/AC/Rick triangle, you also had Josh/Harley, and Blake/Alan-Michael, all of which would change for the next year or so with AC/Harley, Blake/Ross, Mindy and the intro of Nick, Beth/Rick/Phillip and Josh being written off. You had Sam Marler also in some pivotal storylines under Calhoun/Long compared to JFP/Curlee.
  8. I was just thinking, that wouldn't it be hilarious if Lawrence harbored an attraction to Andy.
  9. Yup, GL did briefly hit #1 in 1984.
  10. The show was pretty unstable between 1982-1983 with the revolving door of writers such as L. Virginia Browne and Pat Falken Smith. It really didn't find any stability until Pam Long and Richard Culliton took over writing duties.
  11. Anybody remember those town hall meetings that were being held across the country around the time Obama was first elected, and the right was entirely on board with disrupting such events with shouting and yelling? My how times have changed.
  12. ^I agree 100%! Hopefully the new EP will see that a majority of viewers are over the dark material involving Aaron.
  13. Those scenes between Chas and Aaron were amazing. From the ones on the beach where we finally got to see a smiling Aaron(he has a cute one) to the harrowing scenes at the pub. Such amazing stuff.
  14. Just a guess, but it wouldn't surprise me that Laurel's miscarriage is being written just so they can give Gabby a teen pregnancy storyline down the line. Why else would they recast the role? Seemingly they're preparing to make Gabby more prominent this year, and I can't rule out a teen pregnancy storyline especially since they now have Laurel harboring regret for not wanting the baby.
  15. It's sad when people like Kasich and even Rand Paul seem to spew out more facts than your opponents. I can't even believe I even praised Paul, but he stated somethings that the GOP was afraid to say. Doesn't mean that I'd ever vote for him be it president or dog catcher.
  16. So I've been trying to watch some stand out moments from Kate Oates tenure as Producer since I've only been watching since the helicopter crash. Just recently watched a few videos from the Declan/Charity storyline which seems like it was a good story, and solidified my love for Charity even though she's been absent since I started watching. What was the publics reaction to Declan/Charity? The show was just coming off another psycho storyline with Cameron (which I've watched bits and pieces of and does not paint Debbie in a positive light) when it seems that they decided to turn Declan into a psycho.
  17. I was unspoiled, and although I was bored by much of the reveal episode (I do give Kate Oates credit for filling in those gaps and not having us wait like EE did with Lucy), I found the Andy/Ross reveal quite interesting. I like how the linked the two rivaling brothers stories. Paddy cheating, while some people are disappointed I'm just not invested in Paddy as a character outside of the Chas/Aaron. I can see your typical psycho storyline from a mile away. Ashely's story, though saddening, I'm interested in it.
  18. Having gotten into Emmerdale since the helicopter crash I've been looking at some past youtube vids of the show. What are some of the shows best years to start with? From an outsiders standpoint, one of my favorite scenes the Chris Tate's dying in 2003, which seems to be a good year with some of the other stuff that was going on.
  19. Sigh. Another embarrassment out of my home state. It's both funny and sad.
  20. The Mike/Nancy/Matt/Maggie storyline has actually heated up within the past few days. I enjoyed the confrontation scenes between Matt/Maggie/Mike and seeing Mike reel from his confrontation with Nancy.
  21. I just find it a bit hypocritical of the right (not pointing at anyone in this thread) to continuously hammer this administration for having not sent a big name to the rally to unite Europe (because that appears what it mostly was in general, a unity rally for much of Europe) when it was a few years ago the right endlessly ridiculed Obama for visiting France. In addition the right heavily criticized France for not supporting President Bush during his invasion of Iraq, going so far as to start a campaign to rename French Fries! America has been and continues to be on the forefront of this war on terror and has been since day one. With the countless deaths of our service men and women all of a sudden America and this administration gets heat for not sending a high profile superstar to a rally that was most likely never intended to be such a huge event in the first place? Let's see who attends the unity rally for the attacks that recently happened in Nigeria..... wait, there probably won't be one or if there just happens to be one, the media will ignore such an event and not care who attended it. Overall I just don't find it a subsequent issue to focus on considering there's more pressing issues facing this administration and congress. Secondly America's stance on terror has remained unchanged since 9/11, in which we've been the the number one country to pour all of its resources and power into uniting our allies to fight the very same extremists that are behind this tragedy that happened in Paris.
  22. But America did send someone it simply wasnt a high profile name.
  23. Wasn't Vanessa heavily involved in Reva's postpartum depression storyline?
  24. Her new video was released today.
