Y&R August 2024 Spoilers
And JG never does a good job of explaining why these women are unraveling out of the blue.

Company was started in 1982 when Pat Faulken Smith was HW. It was first just the Reardon Boarding house, then became Reardon & Company. The Coopers and the diner came later in the late 80s. Not sure about the ownership of Towers and etc. It went through so many changes in the early 90s with the ownership/name and etc.

Harley Venton :swoon: 😍 Derek had potential, but like most things post Marland his character was lost in the shuffle. I seriously think he was meant to be Vanessa's endgame romantically (scheming rich b!tch and the straight laced lawyer who holds her accountable which forces her to grow up), and throw Nola in the mix it would've been interesting.

I definitely wanna give EOB her flowers and kudos for portraying Theresa. It wasn't easy, and heck from what it appears it wasn't her choice either, but she made a valiant effort in trying to play a vastly different character, moreso than alot of actors who have been put in her place (I'm looking at you Michael Easton and Roger Howarth). While at times I was left wondering how her predecessor would've played it, I can't say that EOB ever phoned it in.

It really is giving Obama '08 vibes. I love it and it makes me hopeful that we got this in our pocket come November.

Rinse wash and repeat basically. They did this with Lydia's rapist too.

At this moment only person I can think of that would be acceptable to run against Trump/Vance and be Harris VP pick would be Pennsylvania’s Josh Shapiro.

I’m going to back Kamala of course 100%, but I do not have any faith in the majority of the American electorate electing a black woman as president. This is reeks of Hillary 2016 all over again.

Breaking…Joe Biden is dropping out of the race. There goes any chance of us winning in November. I think I’m going to be sick.

It did seem that debate hurt him somewhat, but for a moment there after the smoke cleared, Biden seemed to gain some traction. Then there was Trump's assassination attempt, Biden's Covid diagnosis, and we're back at where we were at the end of the debate. It's frustrating.

The Dem party is going to self own itself out of a victory this November. The party has lost focus and has forgotten exactly who were the voters who handed them victories in 2020 and the midterms. Sigh.

EastEnders: Discussion Thread
Really enjoyed all things Jane/Ian/Bobby yesterday. I wish the show had done a standalone episode featuring the Jane reveal/Cindy showdown, but thats only a minor qualm that I have. I feel like the show properly provided some closure to some loose ends that were left dangling after the end of the Who kill Lucy? storyline. Cindy/Junior/Lauren looks to be messy, and I love it. Love how each week shifts focus to a different family unit on the square, this weeks it's Beales, last week it was the Mitchells, a few weeks before that was the Fox/Truman family, and before that the Knight family.

Oh this return is going to be good; if just for the Cindy angle

EastEnders: Discussion Thread
I wish we could see where we are going with this Sonia/Reiss storyline. At first it was a odd ball romance, then it was about Reiss still holding onto his comatose wife but then also wanting to move on with his life, then it was about Sonia and him wanting kids (a big wtf for Sonia who already had one), and now it's about Reiss extorting funds from people on the square. Like what is the endgame here? Is Reiss a ticking time bomb ready to snap and go psycho? Are we supposed to sympathize with him? It seems like this story has gone on for a considerable amount of time with no clear direction. Like get to the point already.

This. And I'm just sitting on the sidelines watching my party burn itself down. I've made a grea effort of ignoring all and any news media for the past week or so.
