EastEnders: Discussion Thread
David's return really put a literal jolt in the Junior/Cindy/Ian/George quad, I wish he could stay too because he was definitely what the story called for to make it interesting. That episode was classic EE loved it from start to finish.

Y&R: Ed Scott Returns As Senior Producer
Looking back how long has it been since Griffith announced he was going to both Produce and write the show? Trying to see if this is a clear sign that CBS is finally losing faith in JG after giving him a period of time to prove himself.

Y&R: Ed Scott Returns As Senior Producer
YES!!! One of my favorite EP's is returning to his former stomping grounds! Lawd let this be the beginning of him wrestling control of this show from Josh's incompetent hands.

If there's one reason, on top of many, that I wish GL could've gone on longer, is to see how Vanessa's daughter Maureen would've turned out and how her relationships would've been with Bill and Dinah. Ugh, I could write a whole fan fic on Van and Billy's little family and the Marlers. The material writes itself.

Same. I could go for a team that includes Michelle Val Jean, Bob Guza, and Patrick Mulcahey.

This is a rare opinion that I don't see online enough, but it's one I agree with. I think Lloyd Gold's tenure wasn't so bad and was a vast improvement from the tail end of B&E and the Labine's. He got rid of San Cristobal, wrote for Claire (I think she partnered up with Alan), was the one who had Meta in charge of the Lighthouse Gala (which never happened). I do think his one misfire was the time travel storyline, but with Rauch in charge there's plenty of blame to go around lol. His predecessor Millee Taggart tenure didn't start to really run on all 4 cylinders until Carolyn Culliton joined the show.

EastEnders: Discussion Thread
I liked that Clenshaw knew how important the Beales were to Walford and rebuilt them, softened up Phil, brought back Angela Wynter, made Denise a leading lady, and snagged Colin Salmon. Has his tenure been perfect? Absolutely not, but I'll miss having someone running the show who understood what characters were important to the canvas. I hope the new EP does the show justice and continues much of what Clenshaw set in motion.

This story seems similar to Cricket/Nina/Philip on Y&R which was happening at or around this time. Nina giving up a child, and later setting her eyes on the wealthy Philip Chancellor, and Cricket trying to help Nina. I wonder which story came first, I'm assuming Bell was first. I agree! I could at least tolerate Harley up until 2003/2004 (in1997 she seemed like almost every blonde on the show we supposed to root for until B&E left). I don't think Conboy gave Harley much to do, other than react to Gus's drama. The Harley Hour didn't amp up until Wheeler and Co. and it was downhill from there.

Of course GH would end up here. It was bound to happen by reinstating that failed writer.

I wish the episode of Daisy being born on screen was available online somewhere, I've always heard about it in recaps and wonder how it would've been executed on screen with AM and Dinah crashing into a pregnant Harley. Were Dinah and Harley close friends? Interesting how AM was with Dinah, and then ended up with Harley....I wonder if there was any drama from that.

Margaret DePriest was a better writer at DOCTORS than AW. TD coming off the Pollocks (which was plot driven most of the time), she made a great successor to them. However when DePriest is coming onto a show where her predecessors were uninspired just like the AW writers before her, she's not going to make much of an difference. You can see she's trying to structure the show like DAYS with DiMera's = Love family, with a Stefano clone in Reginald, but it's just all so horribly executed with even lesser nuance than her DAYS plots. And I guess she saw the McKinnons as the Bradys on DAYS?
